It's not how you start; It's how you finish: You can't FIX, MANAGE, or CONTROL your ABUSER

Rate this book
If you're in an emotionally abusive relationship, there's hope. It's not how you start; it's how you finish is a book that gives you an inside look into how emotional abuse can diminish the strongest woman's self-worth at the hands of a master manipulator. In most cases, the red flags are there in the beginning, but we don't see them for two common reasons. One, an emotional abuser covers their manipulation with charm and charisma, which makes the red flags hard to detect. Two, there's a hole living in our hearts that we're so desperate to fill, we settle for accepting less than we're worth. Before you know it, you feel stuck with no way out. After reading this book, you will begin to realize you're worth more than you've been manipulated to believe.

Game changer! This book is simply life. The transparent rawness was invigorating on so many levels. It actually compels you to want to search and find your own hidden truths to share and inspire others. It will definately make you look, search and discover areas in your own life that may not be serving you well. This author is my new Shero, cant wait to grow further!!!!

This is a really good book. I picked up this book, read the back and immediately I felt “ clearly this isn’t a book for me”. I put it right back down. One night around 11:36 pm I pick the book up and began to read. To my surprise I couldn’t put the book down. I I read, and read, and I read, I read until nearly 1:30 am
Not only did I find the book was for me. This book is for every person breathing the breath of life. This book was very inspiring and it woke me up in so many ways. The author is a very strong and intelligent lady. I’m looking for the next book to come out.

This book was a page turner! I could not put it down. It is an eye opener into dysfunctional and abusive relationship behaviors & patterns. It showcases the fact that even the strongest person can fall victim to abuse if they are not paying attention to the warning signs. Dr La’s story is one of raw truth but also a story of hope and encouragement. I pray that many are blessed by her words and that it helps others find freedom from the traps of abuse and codependency. Great read! I highly recommend.

“It’s not how you start; It’s how you finish” captivated me throughout the entire read. I most definitely would recommend this book to anyone regardless of whether or not you have experienced control and abuse of any kind. I felt empathy and was so in awe of the author sharing her personal experiences.
A very good read!!

Dr. La
Writes a detailed story of her abuse along with the emotional and mental struggles of choosing to return to her abuser time after time, before finally moving forward in her life. This compelling story will touch and help those who find themselves in the same situation.
