Never underestimate the power of God when a defining moment crosses your path.
The 1612 England/Scotland setting was exciting to read about, a time of war between the clans. Bridgette, at sixteen, is pledged to marry a man she doesn't love. Her life is turned upside down and she feels abandoned, except for her step-son whom she grows to love.
The storyline is one of mystery, suspense, kidnapping, and lots of other dangers. Bridgette, not close to God finds herself praying for his protection. Her husband, Daniel, is fighting some demons of his own.
A wonderful, sweet love story with all the awkward moments and trying times of beginning a new future together. This was even better than the last one. A must-read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and willingly choose to review it. All opinions are my own.
I couldn’t wait to get the second book in the series, and I was not disappointed. Once again the author captures your attention through intriguing plots and beautiful writing. The author does her research to write a novel true to its time in history. It is hard to lay the book down once you start reading.
