Miss Swan Goes to Storybrooke by Coalitiongirl is a beast of a fanfic! Over 230k words spread over 28 chapters. Fanfics can grow to this size because of the format. On Ao3 you tune into it like a serial, reading a new chapter when it becomes available. Reading it in one go is a bit daunting sometimes. Like in this case it's a slow burn with lots of pining.
The writing is solid.
Coalitiongirl has been writing Swan Queen fanfiction for roughly 12 years, focusing on stories spanning from Season 1 through Season 3B and beyond, including a variety of AUs and original plotlines. Her skill has been honed over the years and it shows.
As a Swan Queen fan I loved the big cast of characters. Their roles are a bit different in this story but Cora is still the villain and there are plenty of hints from the original series to enjoy. Emma is Neil's girlfriend, but her growing feelings for Regina cannot be denied. Like I said, there is a lot of pining before they can work things out.
