Change is difficult, but there is power in the atonement of Jesus Christ that we can access to make needed changes in our lives. Sometimes change is necessary when we are broadsided by events such as an unexpected financial crisis, an unrepented sin, a relationship problem, or the premature death of a loved one. Because the Savior has engraven our image on the palms of his hands, he can heal us--emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. In this insightful talk on CD, Sister Dew and Sister Nelson teach us how to receive God's aid in making meaningful change and help us understand the power of the Savior to heal without a scar.
Sheri Dew graduated from Brigham Young University. She served as second counselor in the general Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1997 to 2002. In March 2003 the White House appointed her a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations. In 2002, Sheri Dew became president and CEO of Deseret Book Company.
This has been one of the best talks I have heard! Love the stories and the way both women spoke. This was a wounderful talk that I'll be relistening to for years to come ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I could definitely listen to this CD more than once. Both speakers give real life analogies of how we can relate to the Savior and aloow him to heal us, no matter what our challenges are. Specific visual images have stuck with me and helped me through current trials, and I'm sure will continue to in the future.
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, was because the analogy Wendy Nelson used of hitting her head and having a gaping hole in her face was a bit graphic for me. But it fit ehat she was trying to accomplish, and in the end, helped me to remember what she was trying to get across.
I usually get extremely verklempt when I read or listen to something spiritual, but I found myself feeling upset and irritated by Wendy Nelson's talk. I just couldn't seem to relate and I found myself thinking she seems like an elitist. Sheri Dew redeemed the book though. I still can't say I felt overwhelmed by the spirit, but I did think it was okay.
This talk is fabulous! My mom had it on CD and I stole it for one of my road trips (don't worry I gave it back when I got home). I must have listened to it a thousand times. It helped me at a time when I had drifted away from the church and even now!
Sheri Dew and Wendy Nelson gave some wonderful advice about how the atonement works in our lives. Again I actually read this the day before yesterday--on my trip.
Wendy Watson Nelson shared an experience she had while at an airport in New York. She tripped and face planted outside the airport. Her face had a big hole in it and she shares her amazing story of healing without a scar. She and Sheri Dew testified of Christ's power to heal all of us without leaving scars.
This was an inspirational and funny talk given by Sheri Dew and Wendy Watson Nelson. Both women gave excellent talks and advice on about going to the Savior for physical, mental, and emotional healing. I highly recommend this talk.
I loved these talks, especially the extended personal analogy from Wendy Watson Nelson. Both authors/speakers really have a way with connecting with the audience and bringing what can be abstract concepts of spirituality and the gospel of Jesus Christ into everyday situations. These talks are funny, inspiring, and thoroughly enjoyable.
