“You aren’t a friend of my daughter, but a spy for Living River Ranch,” he groused. “He better be gone before I get back with my shotgun!”
Nestled in the hills of the Lake Michigan shoreline, the ranch overlooks open fields and rich oak, maple and beech tree groves. It has been owned by the Katzen family for generations. Once a working ranch producing cattle and milking cows, it has now turned into a therapy ranch for a multitude of special populations.
Katherine and Troy are beginning to find adventure in their new friendship. This is not the type of adventure most people would enjoy. The couple has been thrust into a whole new level of expectations and challenges that would make most people cringe.
What do a shotgun, ambulance, and a lengthy hospital stay have to do with a therapy ranch? Not much really. This book moves the series into a new arena of help and consideration for others in the region. All the while, a new relationship begins that might knock your sandals off.
A Time to Embrace and A Time To Refrain is the eighth book in the Living River Ranch contemporary Christian romance series. All books written in this series follow Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “A Time for Everything” If you like a cleanly written romance series with fully developed characters that move through a series of books, you will love the A Time For Everything Series.

I was looking forward to reading more about Troy , since we were first introduced to him, when Ben brought him to the Living River Ranch, a broken and beaten man. I’m so glad that Katherine became his friend. Grab your copy and get ready to join all these wonderful characters, as more opportunities arise to bring them closer to the community. If you’re looking for a clean, Christian series, I can’t recommend this series highly enough. Each installment centers around two central characters, but I love that we get to catch up with previous characters too.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is Katherine and Troy's story of hard aches, trials and love. The characters are great. Katherine has great plans for the family ranch, but her father refuses to listen. Troy tries to help her through the disappointments, but her father becomes strange acting. The faith and trust that goes into their story is strong. Family ties get broken and fixed again. This is the eighth book in the "Time For Everthing" series and they keep getting better. I received this book as a gift in exchange for and honest review.
When Katherine’s character reappeared In the last book I was super excited to get her story. There was a lot of stuff behind the scenes that made for a very enticing feel and I was not disappointed. I think this one is now my favorite of the series, especially with the dynamic between a female’s father and a guy wanting to date her. It reminded me of myself and my husband when we were younger.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
After getting to know Troy and Katherine in book 7, it was a lot of fun to read their story! Everyone is full of their own surprises. One of my favorite parts was when Stormi and Troy were talking about their scars, and how they can only do what they do at the ranch because of them. I enjoy meeting new characters and finding out more about each one as the stories progress! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Book 8 brings us the story of Katherine and Troy. Katherine has a business plan worked out to expand her father’s ranching operation. Her father doesn’t want to hear about it. Troy is healing and coming into his own. He wants to help the town that helped him. An exciting story you must read! I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
These books are so inspirational and I love how all the people love each other and work together for the betterment of the whole community. I recommend starting with book one and reading them in order because each one builds upon the last book. Everlee Whitman is the author of this series.
Another good clean short story. This is number 8 that I’ve read but all these short books could have been one great novel. I’m not sure why these are like this if you read one you want to read more!
This is book eight and it is Katherine and Tony’s story. Tony was introduced in an earlier book. Their romance is forbidden by her father. With time and patience their love is rewarded. Looking forward to reading the next book
Meeting Katherine’s father for the first time, Troy was greeted with a shotgun and told to get off his property. That was a little much for Troy and Katherine…then her father drops to the floor. They couldn’t understand the hatefulness and the threats but were about to find out.
This is a great short clean, coming of age story of Katherine trying to come in to with a strict father. It has a great ending and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
