"It takes five/ U.S. soldiers to lift/ one bomb from its carrier// to the plane. Calculate/ the tonnage dropped in our name" A most wonderful collection of protest poetry that does an exceptional job at digging deeply into emotional and ethical underpinnings of politics. Nuanced and finely balanced, which is a delight for this reader weary of socially engaged writing in which the agenda overshadows the art. Compliments to Red Hen Press for releasing a second edition in 2017.
