My Wolveskin mate keeps me under constant guard to protect me, but that doesn’t mean I have to accept that protection. Not when the fate of my sister, my best friend, and my two other mates remains a mystery. Are they imprisoned? Are they dead? As much as it pains me to leave the king of the Wolveskin behind, I must go north to learn the fates of those I love.
Oh, and defeat the Lord Regent and unify our Kingdom.
But before I can, I must survive my journey through the Dark Forest. Terrible, evil creatures dwell there. Creatures that see me as food… or worse. As terrified as I am, I’m compelled onward to find the answers I desperately need. Besides, I’ve been in worse places than--
Just like everyone else in the world (except politicians and the entire Kardashian family), Willa Hart hates talking about herself. Seriously, what's she supposed to say? That she's the most talented author in the world? That Liam Hemsworth, Zac Efron and Michael B. Jordan are knocking down her door for the honor of starring in the big-screen adaptation of her latest romance novel? That readers get into hair-pulling, kidney-punching, nipple-twisting brawls while standing in line to buy one of her books?
LIES!
Just like every other wordsmith in the world, she's certain everything she writes (including her own bio) sucks big, fat, hairy donkey danglers. But deep down she hopes and prays YOU are just a little bit delusional and think she IS a great writer, that Liam, Zac and Michael would be idiots to NOT want a part in her movie, and that you'd twist every perky nip you could get your fingers on just to LOOK at her new book. Of course, she's not holding her breath, but...can't a girl dream?
This was a unique series, that I hadn't read anything like it before. This still doesn't have the world building, & I gave up on it after book 1. I wasn't sure if this is some dystopian world, or parallel world or? I felt that some things were not explained enough, to make sense or feel natural. Suddenly Meela is super capable & strong, to the point that it's almost like she's not the same character from the previous books. Some of the guys in the RH are more likable than others, at this point I can't stand Leo and Rex, they will have to do something drastic for me to change my mind in the next book. I feel the author really needs a better content editor, as there were some things that were not consistent from one book to the next. (like in book 3, Meela turns into a golden wolf -never seen before color, in this book she's silver; & what happened to the beta to the wolveskin king in books 2 & 3, he has a new one in this book, with no explanation to what happened to the previous one; the new beta is referred to as "him" at first, then it becomes "her") This book was riddled with proof-reading errors as well. Overall, this held my attention for the most part, and had me interested enough to move on to book 5 releases just to see how this resolves into a final book in the series.
Meela is determined to continue on her journey despite what Rex says. Will Sarkany and Tarez and Jix be able to escape? So does Leo finally realize his mistake? While Meela is out on her journey she gets help from Jix. Well this is where is gets interesting. Jix has always had feelings for Meela but she never returned them. Then she catches feelings for him? So is this the forbidden love? I can say that it does get pretty steamy and hot. So how do her other mates feel? Will they accept another mate? Then we find out more information as in who actually killed the Tripsets parents. There is a war coming and I need to know what will happen. Cause right now it is looking pretty bleak. I cannot wait for the next book.
This was a great read! I loved the continuation of the series! This series definitely needs to be read in order as they all are a continuation of the same stories and end on cliffhangers. I am super excited to get the next book and figure out what is happening next. This one had a lot of action in it with a lot of things going on. I have really enjoyed this series and getting to see the relationships build between the characters. I love that she has built relationships with the individuals in her group of guys. Fantastic read and really looking forward to the next one! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Danger awaits as we approach the final showdown...
It looks like the final stage has been set! Forbidden Love brought more danger and more peace as Meela is separated from some of her men as they fight battles on different fronts and forge new bonds. As each person in the group continues on the journey placed before them, it seems they may come out of this stronger individuals for the challenge. The final book should be an interesting showdown with any who would dare challenge them...
This, and every book in the series, needs a content editor and proofreader. The one thing every author should be able to do is get the character's names right. For whatever reason, Kaxon's name has been changed to Klaxon throughout the entire book and changes back to Kaxon in the next one.
I just want authors to re-read, or have someone else read, their work before they publish. It's one thing if I didn't like the premise of a book, but it's another if I rate it low because there are just so many editorial and proofreading mistakes I couldn't get over.
Meela is coming into her own. All of the pieces she requires are in place. Now egos have to be set aside and everyone has to learn to work together and accept their role in saving the world. Lots of character growth and development. I enjoyed the story but not sure l felt the chemistry like I did with Meela's other mates. I'm ready to get to the North and have all the pieces click and the battle to save the realm put in play.
Forbidden Love does not open with a happy journey for any of the participants of the realm let alone Meela. Meela who is chasing her destiny. There were things totally unexpected in this book and the world building with its descriptions were not only unique but took on a life of their own. I had no idea where Forbidden Love was going to take me half the time. Now I can’t wait for the next part of the story. This is part of series that is best read in order and I recommend the prequel first.
OMMFG I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES!! Wow I guess I was expecting for a betrayal but not how it went down. I mean come on girl, your legit being hunted and your just going to allow someone to access your mind just to have your old memories come back. Anywho, I cannot wait for the next 📚!!
I have really enjoyed both series by Willa Hart and am anxious for the 5th book in the Mindslayer series. Willa keeps you entertained with all the twist and turns of her books. Happy reading!
Oh man so much still to unfold. I am getting so good. I called something our and tada boom. Thus is a great series. Does nothing for my anxiety but I love reading so I will continue
Had read this series so fast as I can't wait to see what happens next, can not wait for the last one, has everything you could want from a book, a great break from reality.
3.5 stars - This book felt like a bit of a filler at first, like it was just building on from book 3 and plodding along to the final book 5. It didn't feel like a whole lot was happening other than Meela finding new powers and ways to communicate with different people. Meela is now headstrong and determined to carry out what the White Wolf has shown her. Her mates are still struggling to accept each other but then when she takes on another mate (not saying who!), they almost stand united. The last couple of chapters are what make this book, and after reading the expert for book 5, I am really looking forward to how this story ends.
