Courtney has wanted to be an author since she was young. She loved learning about history and exploring the world, and fell in love with love stories, making it a goal to write romantic adventures for the rest of her life.
She has a degree in Creative Writing and has lived all over the US. She found inspiration for her westerns in the mountains of Utah, and wrote her first Regency after a study abroad in the UK. Today she lives in her home state of sunny Florida.
When she's not writing, Courtney enjoys traveling, baking, reading, being with friends and family, and spending as much time on the beach as possible. More recently, she can be found watching Korean dramas with her chaotic kitty, Stitch.
So this was a sweet read, and I felt sorry for the heroine and the cards she was dealt with. The mystery was there too, regarding who the H was. What killed it for me: It was a bit slow, with lots of descriptions and thinking within the h and H's minds but would have liked MORE dialogue and action. Not necessarily the sexy kind, but a bit more angst, maybe? The other thing that killed it for me--> spolier alert: *************************
I was just let down when we met the H's sister and discovered who he was and this running around to find the uncle and finding his body, looking for treasure he stashed, then his brother getting involved. It just seemed off for a book that was so slow in the beginning.

What is a well-done Western romance! While this certainly had some of the typical elements of a historical Western love story, it also had surprises and delightful tender moments. The first scene pulled me right in. Our hero is in a confused state. He doesn't know who he is and has no memory of what happened before this precise moment. He knows there are a burning stagecoach and dead bodies, and he has blood on his hands. As a snowstorm comes in, his fight to survive brings him to a woman's door, and he collapses on her porch. She takes him in somewhat begrudgingly, and that is when the fun begins. He suffers from amnesia for a long time, although bits and pieces start to come to him. He's not even sure if he's a good and decent man at the beginning or if he had something to do with the burning stagecoach and the dead. The pregnant widow who took him in is worried at first, but soon both of them begin to feel something towards each other, though they know they might not have a future depending on what his memory reveals as it comes back. This book is well written with believable and likable characters. Their fears and motivations are easily understood and help deliver the feels. And I thought the hero was particularly cute with the baby once she was born. I certainly wanted the couple to get together, even though at times it felt like the odds were stacked against them. If you enjoy Western romance, you may very well like this book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
When he awoke, he was lying in the snow with four men with him. But they were dead. He could not remember who he was or where he was. But he was freezing. He spotted smoke and headed for it as carefully as he could. It was a cabin, a young woman opened the front door and he passed out. Cassandra Reynolds had lost her son and then her husband died. She was pregnant with a homestead to take care of by herself. She was alone. So when the man came to her door she was very hesitant to bring him into the house. But she did. This was a wonderful story of hardship, a lot of hard work, and love. They worked together, through thick and thin, despite not knowing who he was. There are a few surprises, a birth, and planting the fields, among a few. I thought the author kept it interesting and entertaining. It flowed easily and the characters were great and very realistic. I know I highly recommend it. It was very satisfying. I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
This was a beautiful story - sweet, romantic, and a little sad all at the same time. Cassandra is a pregnant widow and is left to care for her home and her unborn child on her own. Grayson comes upon her and has no memory of who he is. He makes a deal with her to take care of her homestead if she allows him to stay there. As they spend more time together, they grow fonder of each other and there attraction grows. Before they can let these feelings develop into anything more, they both need answers to who Grayson is and why he is here. This was a sweet and tender story which pulled me in right from the beginning and I was entertained all the way through. This book is definitely worth the read, especially if you like westerns.

A mystery and romance to enjoy. Being a widow and pregnant would be hard but add in a homestead that needs taking care of that would bring true fear into the heart. That is what Cassandra faced and then if that was not enough an injured man shows up at your homestead. Grayson does not know who he is and with only a letter in his pocket to give him any clue. That is the set up for this splendid piece. It is not only clean it is also believable with outstanding characters. This is a book that is well worth reading if you like historical western. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is my first read from this author, but will not be my last. Clean, realistic, and honest; this book is about a pregnant widow and a man without the memory of his past. I loved watching our two leads fall in love in a slow, realistic way. There was no bed jumping, no bad language, and no moments that left you scratching your head wondering why that scene was written. There is a HEA but there are complications and twist that leave the reader wondering if that HEA will happen. Easy, clean read that I happily recommend.
The author has penned a heart wrenching, yet heart warming story of loss, widowhood, a pregnancy, a stage coach robbery, murder, a stranger who has lost his memory, hard back breaking work and hardships, and romance. This is Cassandra and Grayson's story and is definitely one that will pull at your heartstrings. You will have to read the story to see if the couple are able to reach a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Cassandra is widowed and pregnant but she is determined to save her homestead so when a strange man shows up and does not remember anything about himself but has offered to help her that is all she needs. There is some mystery and suspense along with romance with this well written story. Loved the story plot and the characters.
The second book in The Little Creek series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Andrew Grayson and widow Cassandra Reynolds who is pregnant's story. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains one closer than they realize, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in this series. I like the first story very much. I like this one even better. Cassandra lives alone on her farm after her husband dies a few month previously. One day she looks out her window and sees someone coming toward her door. This someone will play a pivotal role in her life. Read and enjoy this book, I did!!!!!
This book has a mystery in it and it looks !like maybe we will learn about finding Uncle Jeremiah's treasure in the next book. But we do have Grayson and Cassandra who found he was free to marry. So that part works out for us die-hard romance readers looking for the happy ever after. So read this good story well worth your time.
I loved the characters in this book: a pregnant widow and a wounded man with amnesia. They rescue each other and fall in love, but until Grayson's memory returns their relationship is on hold. Add some suspense and danger to the story and it becomes an adventure you can't put down! I received an ARC from the author, but my review is voluntary. And I have become one of her new fans!
After the deaths of her son and then husband, Cassandra Reynolds finds herself pregnant and alone during the harsh winter. When a man with no memory and a bullet wound passes out on her front porch, she must decide whether to heal him or leave him to die. I s it worth the risk or is she begging for trouble?~
Romance - Clean Language - None Violence - Mild Series - Book 2
I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and I am anxiously awaiting the next in this series. I am so glad I found this author.
This is such a sweet second-chance at love kind of story. No spoilers, but I am happy to see both Grayson and Cassie get the happily-ever-after they deserve.
This was my first book by this author but won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed every word. A young man who awakens with no memory and a young pregnant widow trying to save her farm with only a dog for a companion. The twists and turns will keep you turning pages.
I truly enjoyed this novel of Cassandra and Greyson, life shows us how despite obstacles we can see love rising between two different people. Love always conquer all. I really enjoyed reading this novel, and I hope to read more books by this author who is new to me.
Enjoyed every element in this story. The storyline was woven together so magnificently. Hoping to see more of Grayson and Cassandra's family grow regardless of what doctors in Chicago stated. Love seeing a happy ending.
A very strong woman keeping up her farm and being alone. In wanders a man with no memory. He helps her and they have an entertaining adventure in survival.
This storyline had twists and turns, mixed in with humor, and let's not forget deceit. Everytime I read something that I thought the Author didn't address my question was answered.
