Concise summary for those dying and their caregivers

This practical summary guides you through processes: hearing the news of terminal illness, accepting help, preparing for the care and disposal of your “stuff,” writing your wishes for end of life and for burial/cremation/services, accepting palliative and hospice care, plus guidance for those administering the estate after your passing. I appreciated that it included such current needs as closing down social media accounts and autopay.

Some of the guidance was familiar, as I was blessed to live with and care for my mother until she passed: how to ask for hospice and what to expect from them, other caregiver support. What I could not know was what my mom was going through as she was told she was dying.

I will be forever thankful that we had conversations about death, but I could not know how much more I now wish I had asked her how she felt. I know this now, so I hope to encourage you to read this or other books to help you desire to ask meaningful questions of your loved one’s experience. While he or she can still talk. Remember what this author says: near the end when your loved one may be comatose or sleeping, that hearing is still there. Love audibly. Sing. Pray!! Stay connected until actual passing if you are with them.

Peace be with you and God’s Grace on all souls.

you would think that a summary book, since it is short, would not have problems starting sentences with a capital letter. This booklet does.
