Rajan a simple boy who came to from Andaman to Bhopal for higher studies faces strange situations on his freshers day . But this strange incident in his life gifted him his love of his life , Naina (Sunaina) . Naina an ordinary girl from Bhopal meets Rajan on her very first day of college and this leads to the start of their story. With growing time Naina and Rajan's friendships grew stronger . These two 'just friends' were unknown about the feelings of love between them . But before their story continues, destiny had already planned something different for them . An incident that took place , completely changed the relation between Naina and Rajan . Their life took two different paths . Both away from each other physically but mentally none could forget each other. ..................
******
Years after destiny bought them together in three different situations . Their first encounter was in Jaipur airport, second in Mumbai terror attack and third Naina's deliberate will to meet Rajan .
As both faces their own tragedies and struggles of their own lives , will their feelings for each other still survive. Or will their dreams to be with each other die with the passage of time ..
*******
The book overall was very emotional. It keeps the readers emotionally attached to the book from starting to ending . While I was going through the prologue unknowingly tears dripped from my eyes ,especially at the last paragraph of the prologue. Not only the prologue but this whole story of Naina and Rajan will for sure melt the heart of whoever reads it . And also the ending, ..it was so beautiful I just can't stop myself from re-reading it again and again. Overall I absolutely enjoyed reading this awesome book *****

No, they never die. Even if we strive to bury them deep in our heart, they won't die. Some dreams will follow us until they are fulfilled.
"Dreams don't die, do they? " by R.Sivaraman, a retired Army officer, is the story of many people and their dreams. The story is focused on Rajan, Naina and their undying love. But, what makes the story incredible is the character bonding. The sister bonding of Aarti and Naina, the relation between Rajan and Baba, the maturity of Rajan's younger sister, her love and concern towards her brother, everything is pure. Each character in this book has a story and the author had penned it in such a style, that fascinates the reader. The book is enhanced with many emotions.
Coming to the plot of the story: Rajan and Naina met at college and they felt their love for each other but failed to convey. An unexpected ugly incident changes their life and they part their ways along with their dreams. Their journey thereafter goes through several ups and downs linking their paths with some tragedies like Kargil war, Tsunami and, Mumbai terror attacks.
The story develops in different timelines, composing the stories of other characters in between. Thus, the flow of the story is maintained.
Like I said before, this is a compilation of emotions; friendship, love, betrayal, tragedies, losing beloved ones and the happiness at the end. In total, the author is successful in composing a story of an era.
The title of the story is apt. It intrigues the reader to read the book to find out whether dreams die or not. And the book cover, displaying the pictures of the tragic events described in the story is harmonizing the story.
Hats off to the author R.Sivaraman for this book which reflects his love for the nation.

There are some stories that go on forever and you don’t mind it. You like the way it flows, the uncertainty, and the urges remain the same, if not more. Dreams Don’t Die by R Sivaraman is one such book. A detailed story of two college mates, Naina from Bhopal and Rajan from Andaman. They have strikingly different lifestyles, but the subtle love that sparked during their college days stays in their hearts forever. The novel is a whirlwind of emotions and major events – the Kargil War, Andaman Tsunami and the Mumbai terror attack, and in the midst of all the adversities and the losses they suffered, the question remains whether they could retain their sanity, love and survive the onslaught of emotions? Do dreams ever die?
From the beginning, the story will put you in the zone. It takes a while to realize that the book is a journey through the ups and downs of the two characters through an extended period of time. But, once you do, you can truly appreciate the rawness of human emotions that the author has brought to the surface. There are many characters who assist them through the years, but very few of them are constant. The main characters are beautifully set. Naina’s character was more well-formed than Rajan’s, but they played their roles implacably. The detailing of the storytelling is well appreciated.
The only lag was in the narration in certain parts of the book. By the end, I had tears streaming down my face. The uncertainty of their undying love and acceptance stayed till the end. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who will love a good, honest love story; especially new readers. It was a soothing read.

'Dreams Don't Die..Do They?' is an enduring story of Rajan and Naina. The two individuals meet in college and fall in love, almost. But love isn't easy; many tragedies hit their life and tear them apart. However, destiny has some other plans. Amidst the 𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐫, 𝟐𝟔/𝟏𝟏 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢 and many more terrifying incidents, their love and fate seems to be broken, but is it?
The story is interesting, gripping and full of twists and turns. It is written in a simple and beautiful way; at parts the author gives you a soft touch of love and at other parts, it displays the harsh realities. Characters are portrayed nicely and are simple and feels realistic. Language is good and easily understandable. Narration has been done properly and is in third person's POV.
The title seems perfect and mysterious. Cover is relevant. The book is divided into many chapters and the title for each is well-suited. The pace isn't even. However, while reading the story, the uneven pace seems right as well.
The scenes of attacks and war are described wonderfully; it feels like author has a close eye on the events. Looking at the genre, I felt the book is going to be a cliche romance but it isn't! It is more than just a love story: many life-death situations, many tragedies, friendship, natural calamities and many more.
The Author has put out a fantastic combination of love, thriller and tragedy. I recommend this book to all who like this concoction, likes realistic fiction and who believes destiny plays a big role in our game.

"When you go home tell them of us, and say for your tomorrow, we gave our today."
There are dreams which are trapped inside us, dreams that die within us. But there are certain dreams- dreams that are meant to be achieved.
Rajan grew up listening to heroic war stories told by his grandfather. He loved his grandfather and he always thought that grandpa looked smarter in his army uniform.
The love for his grandson and his country made grandpa dream - seeing Rajan in army uniform one day...a dream which came true eventually. Naina was born in Bhopal. She lived with her parents and her sister Aarti, her role model. The bond between the sisters was strong. At young age, they became witnesses to Bhopal Gas Tragedy which took life of many. It left a deep wound in their young hearts.
Rajan and Naina were college buddies. They became friends easily. As time passed, their friendship grew into something more. But neither of them were ready to accept their feelings. The entrance of a new person put a halt to all these. Gradually they drifted apart... After many years they meet again. What happens next?
The story is a beautiful combination of past and present. Narration is soothing. I fell in love with the narrative style immediately. The places are described so effectively that readers can visualise all the details vividly. The story is full of mixed emotions- happiness, sadness, anticipation...
In the end , we get the answer to the question - Do Dreams Die?

This story mainly involves three characters who are Naina, Prakash, and Rajan. Naina is in love with Rajan and Rajan is also in love with Naina. Since they don't know that they like each other, they denied it and called it a friendship and leave their life to fate. There comes Prakash in Naina's life. He's more handsome than Rajan, and good at sports and had a good family background. What is in fate's hands? Will Prakash get Naina or Naina accept Rajan? is the remaining story.
The story is full of twists and turns. When I was familiar with some pace in the story, it will always lead to a twist. Once we started to grasp the story, it's moving so fast that we can't put down the book until we know the end.
What I didn't like is the pace of the story. Feelings of Naina are not portrayed good enough, Prakash who wants to be in a relationship suddenly changed his mind, Aarti who cherished her sister the most didn't care for her while she was having a hard time, all are not explained well. Though, the end is pretty good. After so many years, they made their dream come true. Good book and a different concept. Overall I liked it.

Stories with references to real life events or personalities automatically catch the interest of every reader quite effortlessly. Equally captivating is R Sivaraman's work, "Dreams Don't Die… Do They". On reading the title, the reader can not guess in his wildest imagination about the powerful plotline the author has in store for him. The book holds the attention of the reader from the beginning to the end and the references to contemporary events like the kargil war, the infamous tsunami and Mumbai terror attacks makes the Indian reader feel more interested as the present generation has been a witness to all those events.
Parallel to that goes the plotline of Naina and Rajan and how destiny pulls the strings of their lives. In a span of more than a decade, how their lives crisscross each other time and again is where the readers get to see the craft of the author. Also, the cover of the book is beautifully developed and it makes absolute sense when the reader is completely through with the book.
Everyone will enjoy reading this book which, not only has strong and well developed characters but also a good narration style.

Interesting!
Broken dreams abruptly cut short, and the irreversibility with which it all happens, leaves behind a scar on the soul with a lingering nostalgic wound.
Rajan from Wandoor, Andaman meets Naina in Bhopal, the local girl. They meet in college and they fall in love, atleast almost. One unexpected ugly incident and a moment of emotional insanity that follows, reshape their lives forever. They part with bitter memories without a goodbye.
In the next twelve years that follow, their paths cross thrice - two chance and one deliberate. As their lives traverse along the rugged paths of Kargil war, Andaman Tsunami and Mumbai terror attack, will their dreams tag along?
The storyline is amazing, it has way too many twists to it but I guess that's what makes this story interesting and unique to all other books. It is a love story unlike any other I have seen. The language is lucid and easy to understand. The emotions portrayed though are just a little play a huge role in the entirety of the book. The authors narration is impressive. The cover is gorgeous and depicts simply all that the story will take you through.
Well worth a read and your time and money!

Dreams don't die - this interesting book narrates the story of love and life to two contrast characters. Rajan Govindan Krishnamani aka Major Rajan, a tall and handsome hunk from the Indian Island Andaman is our Romeo. Sunaina Shastri aka Naina a sweet and pampered Bhopali girl is our Juliet. They keep crossing eachother lives at different times and different places, each time destiny keeps playing hide and seek with their feelings and they fail to recognise their Love. Their memory always had a watermark.
Will they understand their love?
Is destiny playing game with them or are they playing a game with their destiny...?
A sweet story of confusing feelings and complicating emotions, this is what the story for me. I was excited to read a take from Andaman a place I haven't visited or heard about, thus is what made me pick the book. A good try to connect past and present and situations at both times in one story, it would not have been easy - cool. I just enjoyed the author's juggle in this story, perfectly maintained.

The book is divided into chapters. The author has divided in an very amazing way. The story is about two lead characters Naina and Rajan. Naina from Bhopal and Rajan from Andaman. Both from different backgrounds and different culture. But love doesn't comes in any terms and conditions or any caste or religion. And this two fall for each other in their college days. The book is a love story and also combined with different events which give the story a different outlook. The author had explained many situations like Kargil War, Tsunami in Andaman and the Mumbai terrorist attack. All these situations gives a light on the effect on the people and the country. At some points some pages gave me a goosebumps. The book is superbly combined by the author. The book also touches many emotions like love, hate, lose, nationalism etc. The book is a page turner and i doesn't want the book to end. I have a huge urge to read the book more and more. The cover page is beautiful and the name is apt. The language is pretty simple and narration is amazing. Highly recommended

Kargil war is forgotten, is it?
Context of The Kargil War in a love story?
Sounds weird, right!
But the author has well written a Romance with its intricacies lying in a common past.
We all have been affected by the Kargil War in some way or the other.
Our older generation people talk about the wars and the aftereffects of it as to what they had to suffer during those times and how if has scarred them for the rest of their lives.
This book is one such store that shows us how the characters are well woven into each others lives in a minimalist language understandable to all.
The composition, the sequencing and the timing of events has been well articulated in order to keep the reader yearning for more.

BLURB-
Rajan and Naina meets in college, fall in love but never confess. They seperate. Naina marries someone else. Rajan becomes a soldier. They meet again under terrible circumstances and rekindle their love. Read to know if their dream of being with each other really comes true. Do the lovers reunite after the fates had to intervene to bring them together again and again.
OPINION-
Firstly let's talk about the cover. It has all the intricacies of the story and each new details amazes me.
The title is something which i didn't get at first but it struck when i was nearing the end of the story.
The story in itself is so tragic yet has a very happy ending. Each time a tragedy struck, my eyes moistened and i was on the edge to complete the story. I just couldn't keep it together whenever something bad happened which happens alot in the story. Like people have to be as unlucky and lucky as the guy who got struck with lightning seven times yet survived to be so unfortunate to experience all the suffering.
The language is super easy to understand.
The characters are well sketched with proper background story. The female character, Naina is so relatable, having her own moments of weakness and then emerging strong from them. She's Lazarus. Rajan is a hero not only in the story but also real life. The story also makes a reference to the soldiers, kudos to the author for that.
Everything is properly described.
Be it the college debate or the war scenes.
Each tragedy has its own page space. Nothing is left hanging and i didn't feel anything missing when i was reading the story. The story has a fast pace, and it suits the plot really well. It was gripping, engaging and brought out emotions of a reader well. The story is not a cheesy romance, it's well written and we'll narrated. The only con i felt was the insane amount of tragedies which happened in the lives of our protagonists. I'm a sucker for romance and stories with such subtle romance touches my heart. This was once such book.

Naina and Rajan bump into each other at the Jaipur airport as Naina was returning home to Mumbai from Delhi while Rajan was returning back to work at Gulmarg, Kashmir. The once friends turned lovers, who got separated in a bitter way are initially awkward only to realize an icebreaker is all that they needed before reminiscing on good old times. As they meet sometimes accidentally and at times intentionally ,amidst major events like the Kargil war, Andaman Tsunami and Mumbai terror attack, the recurring question was if these are destined to happen, or if it is fate at play. As the story traverses their journey across decades and life changing moments, do they carry along their unfilled dreams forms the rest of the story.
The story starts with Naina and Rajan meeting unexpectedly in Jaipur airport from where the story travels back in time to explore how Rajan’s grandfather reached Andaman from Wandoor in search of livelihood and better living opportunities to Rajan moving to Bhopal for his further studies. The story thus traces Rajan meeting Naina for the first time in a very awkward way in college to them instantly hitting it up, but then parting ways too soon. As they keep meeting amidst tense and unfortunate situations, the reader is given insight into the journey of Naina and Rajan.
The story from the word go reveals the emotions the reader is about to experience, with a beautiful love story set against the backdrop of major true incidents that happened in the past few decades. The major advantage is the gripping narration and story that draw the attention of the reader and holds till the end. The cover and title tease with just enough details; the story captures the essence of life in the middle of tragedies and the spirit of human emotions in the worst of situations. Pick this one to explore a different kind of love story that stays with you and is heartwarming!

TITLE: Dreams Don’t Die
AUTHOR: R Sivaraman
GENRE: love, romance
PROTAGONIST: Naina, Rajan.
Rating 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
REVIEW:
We meet a million people in our lives many of which come and go but a few stay. Rajan and Naina both meet in their college lives and since then the destiny kept crosses their path over and over again.
The story is set in an Indian background and revolves around our protagonist only. It opens at an airport where Naina and Rajan meeting after a really long time. They talk for a while and part their way with Rajan confessing that he loves her.
The story is depicted in a timeline which creates a plot on which it futher develops.
After meeting the college, they hanged out a lot in the canteen which became a common meeting point for them and their group. As the story proceeds their bond of friendship starts transforming but then suddenly Prakash enter which gives a new twist to the story. Love is a complicated feeling. Rajan falls in love with Naina but didn't realise it until it’s too late and Prakash steals her away from her. But nothing can keep two lovers apart. As they keep meeting under different circumstances and situations, Will Naina come to know about the fact that Rajan loves her, after everything she has gone through (To know what she went through buy your copy) (Sorry Can’t Give You All Spoilers), will she realize that she loves him to or she dreams about it? after so many years does Rajan still loves her? Wil they both meet and create there forever love together? To find answers to these questionsyou know what to do. Towards the end of the novel the justification of title is seeming which comes to the reader in an unexpected manner.
For me this novel was a roller coaster ride full of fun, joy and enjoyment with a few eye wetting moments. The novel all together is an amazing package.

Title: Praiseworthy Concept
I usually think what is the foremost thing about a book which can attract a reader before reading it. In other words, How should a reader choose a book to read. Well, I find this answer for this book as I found the title which is captivating to readers. Cover of the book joins hand with title as it is not related to title directly (created thrill in the very begining) . Author highlights an invincible idea that dreams don't die which is universally accepted. No doubt ! dreams don't die, they remains alive forever. One just needs to keep them in one's heart and makes them a part of life. Unlike the title, cover and idea, story is very different and believe me is more fascinating than all these. This is a love story with real thrilling events such as Kargil War, Tsunami and the Mumbai attack (26/11). Obviously, any common life can easily be effected by such incidents. How all these affect their life (Both Protagonist's) ? How the book is titled as Dreams Don't Die ? You can solve the maze after reading the book. It is a romance, thriller and dramatic story. In funny way, this book can also be titled, "Two states". In the end, I would like to praise the concept and the idea behind story that author chose to write this book.

Dreams Don't Die
It's a beautiful story of two individuals, Rajan and Naina. Rajan belongs from the very beautiful place Wandoor, Andaman and Naina from Bhopal. They met at college and get along with each other very well. They both loved each other but never expressed their feelings in order not to complicate their budding friendship. Many incidents happened and torn their lives apart. But the soul connection remains the same.
It's an emotional rollercoaster yet soothing to read such pure love story relating and tormented by the tragedies like Kargil War, Andaman Tsunami, Mumbai Terror . Despite all the pain and hardship they tried connected to each other through heart. And their dreams to destined also shows hopes to them.
One will remain hooked on the story until end. The characterization and the language is pretty good. I liked the title and the cover too. The background description of the families is what dragged my attention. It's definitely a must read. I felt some of the conversation and scenes to be short. Would have loved much more into it. Otherwise it's a treat to read.

Title : Dreams Don't Die
Author : R Sivaraman
Love is something that always come to our life unexpectedly. We decide something but destiny always play a different role.
The story is about Rajan and Naina who meet during their college days. They shared a strong bond and became best friends. Rajan started to fall for Naina. But Prakash came into picture. Will Naina have some feeling for Prakash? Will Rajan propose her?
Something happens that change Naina's life completely. At start I was quite confused, but going forward picture came cleared to me. Some books have an effect in us after completing it. This book is one among them.
To know more about this grab a copy for yourself. I would say that, it's a one time read atleast for me. The writing style is okay fine, which go in moderate speed. I love Author's description about place Wandoor, also the terrorist attack, Tsunami etc are explained very well. Overall, its an good book and I would recommend it.

A sweet story that tries to connect the past with the present. Dreams are the only possession a person has. They have the power to change a person's life. And thus they don't die. There are two characters in this story. One is Naina who is from bhopal and the other is Ranjan from andaman living completely different lifestyles. Both are college mates. They fall in love with each other. But this is not the story. Love is not that easy right? Thus the story starts taking different twists and turns. The novel is a whirlwind of emotions and major events – the Kargil War, Andaman Tsunami and the Mumbai terror attack. But in the midst of all the emotions, question arises whether they could preserve their love and the sanity? Do dreams ever die?
The story takes you through ups and downs of emotions. And once you do that you start appreciating the rawness of emotions that author has brought to the surface. The only lag is in the narration in certain parts of the book. Otherwise the book is a gem with such ups and downs of emotions that one could hardly be able to control their tears in the end. Thus I would recommend this book to all my friends.

Shallow and Bad. Giving one stars only because the author is a retired army officer. Dear Sir, thanks for your service to our nation. But please stay away from the world of literature.

Making money out of a tragic incidence. Indian authors are generally bad—no sense of originality. This wretched and cringeworthy book is a Bollywood script for another Akshay Kumar film.

Some characters stays with you even after you finished reading the book. Dreams Don’t Die by debutant author R Sivaraman offers many such characters.
The book begins with Naina & Rajan meeting at Delhi airport, an encounter amidst unpleasant memories of the past lurking, memories that had a water mark.
Chapter one begins with World War 2 and thereafter the author unfolds an epic tale spanning decades.
The strength of the book lies in the characters, human emotions and brilliant narration.
You will yourself transported to the battlefield of Kargil or the beautiful beaches of Wandoor though eloquent usage of words.
The first few chapters are devoted to developing the characters and that has a bearing on their actions in consequent chapters.
The reason for Naina Rajan parting from college with bitter memories throws you off balance and thereafter the story gives you no respite.
This is amongst the best Indian author & it’s a must read for book lovers. It’s a story of humanity, human relations & enduring love, in that order.
Enjoy the journey of Naina & Rajan.
