Ash Lingam was born and raised in Southern Ohio, not far from the mighty Ohio River. He had somewhat of an isolated upbringing on a family farm with his sisters. His best friends were his horse, Sugar, and his grandfather. Born in 1886, the family patriarch grew crops, raised cattle, and doted on the young boy. At his grandfather’s side, Ash learned about livestock and firearms at an early age. His grandad carried an old Colt with him at all times, helping spawn a young boy’s dreams of yesteryear. Ash was only eight years old when his grandad taught him how to trap muskrats to prevent them from draining the farm’s ponds. He gave him a double-barreled shotgun at twelve and taught him how to hunt to put food on the table. It wasn’t long before Ash was breaking horses. His spirited Tennessee Walker never allowed any other rider on her back. Together, they searched through the plowed fields in the spring, looking for Miami Indian arrowheads to add to his grandfather’s ample collection. Ash’s family was among the early settlers in pre-Revolutionary America. He has traced his lineage back to around 1746 when his ancestors immigrated from Europe to the aspiring American Colonies. A retired marketing executive, Ash devotes his spare time to training police dogs and writing novels. He has found his niche in the Western, historical fiction, and adventure genres. With his vast vault of experience, he never runs out of sources for new stories. He has lived in eleven different countries and worked in a total of forty-six, To date, Ash has written approximately 130 novels, short stories, and poems. More than one hundred of his eclectic titles help the American frontier come alive for his readers.
Ranger Rowdy Bates and his men are on river boats. The rangers are attempting to find and kill a man that parallels Jack the Ripper. Also, the shortest ranger of the bunch is trying to beat the bare knuckle fighting champion of the east. Again, the two mystical Indian scouts play a huge part in the success of the rangers. Rowdy also meets Abby.
This Good Western Story is full of ACTION! This Story deals with many different emotions! I felt like I had gotten to know these Texas Rangers and I am looking forward to reading the next book by Ash Lingam! A GREAT WRITER!

I have been a follower of Mr. Logan for some time now and Captain Bates is one of my favorites, as he is like bloodhound, when he's on the trail of the bad guys. There aren't any dull moments when he and his rowdy crew of Texas Rangers get involved.
No problem awarding five stars to this outstanding western masterpiece of righting wrongs, as the The author goes above and Rangers continue their undying efforts of taming their beloved Texas, and the good people therein! The Author goes above and beyond in his outstanding descriptiveness of each and every storylines before striking his first key. Too, his excellent character selections could not have been any better, as they continuously fulfilled their assignments with outstanding enthusiasm. Captain Bates, and his outstanding selection of Rangers, go above and beyond in their successful attempts to bring justice to their beloved Texas. There is enough humor, as well as outstanding gunfights, to appease your most demanding appetite. The main villain is similar to London's "Jack the Ripper," as he constantly wrecks havoc on the Riverboats. Most definitely recommend this fascinating story to all readers, regardless of your reading preference I was glued to each and every exciting episode, as the Captain and crew lead me along with them in their assigned duties of bringing justice to the Riverboats loss of lives. I assure you to be intrigued with each new developing adventure!😄
