The Power of Commitment

Rate this book
An insight into love and heartache, of love lost and yet to be found, of desire and disappointment. Revealing emotions and relationships honestly, in all their guises and disguises.

Allan Macintyre Clark captures the pain and joy of the human need for love and the suffering of the heart when it is broken. He describes the effects and feelings eloquently in these poems.

A touching and emotional glimpse of the poet's past.

What follows is his pursuit to find true love and to be accepted as a gay man.

In his words, "It is brutal at times, angry at others, reflective, saddening, frustrating, enlightening, damning, uplifting, hopeful, intolerant and perhaps, bitter. I only hope that it will be relatable, not just with those who have suffered the indignation of being gay but to anyone who has suffered for simply being different."

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. Poetry is one of those things that show the raw and open part of one's soul and heart. Each line and verse an experience of the complex thing we simply call life. It goes much deeper than all of that. As lover of the written word and a poet myself. I can feel all of the emotions that event into putting this collection together. They are like written clips of one's life in the moment to be able to go back and experience those moments again.
