Comi: How to Consciously Overcome Mental Illness

Rate this book
COMI is an instruction manual that explains the spiritual way to heal mental illness. Everything in life relates to the Self and your perfect care - or lack of care - of it. To get well, the patient must improve his/her attitudes about Self. The Self is the energy that allows you to breathe, think, and live as God incarnate. The reason thousands of people do not recover from chronic mental illness is because almost no one knows how, even though there are thousands of mental health professionals.

We all know by now that taking pills is not the answer. What really happens within the mind in mental illness has remained a mystery throughout the centuries. People who are mentally ill have unintentionally thought their way into this illness through misuse of their own thoughts. Because this is true, these people also have the ability to think their way out of it by reversing their thoughts, particularly their thoughts about Self.

We always do have complete mental control over any of our illnesses - even mental illness. We just have no training in how to think correctly for our own well-being. If parents across the world would begin to teach their little children to love themselves while they are little, these children would grow up to be loving, functional adults, rather than empty dysfunctional sick people, and in time mental illness in all its forms would disappear from the earth. This book is designed for use by professionals in group therapy or by individuals seeking greater peace of mind.

This book is life-transforming. It makes us confront our fears and anxieties. You can't just read this book in one go. It creates turmoil inside and at the same time, it also pacifies your heart to let you know the reasons for whatever you feel.

I could barely read 10 pages a day. Because every single chapter made me question my own beliefs and my own values. Some of which I didn't even know why and how I had inculcated in the first place.

Harris knows where those critical spots of a person are, if touched, it reveals the truth about their past. She pushes you to get inside your own head and discover things about yourself that have been long buried. The book challenges your thought patterns and pushes you towards analyzing your current life, how it could be connected with your past experiences. The revelations that I came across about my own life were unbelievable.

The most touching and insightful part of the book is the 'Chapter one’ where she talks about her own life and experiences. The most striking part is how she applied her own teachings to heal herself. She is the living embodiment of her own teachings.

This book is a magnificent experience in itself. It takes you through an inner journey which brings more peace and understanding within oneself. It is a must read for everyone who is looking forward to expanding their consciousness.

This book has given me strength in my life more times than I wish to admit. This time is no different.

This is definitely not a book to be read for its writing style, or maybe a simple book that can take you to some fantasy world which you’ll find hard to let go of at the end of reading. No, it’s a book that will help you discover the new world that's already in your universe, but has been sitting undiscovered for too long. It is a book that, if you let in, it’ll clean your soul and mind of doubts, fear, and negative energy. It sounds like science fiction, but all you have to do is let yourself flow with what's written in here, believe that if you think good, you get good.

As I said, it is not a book we should analyze by its writing style or plot. In the end, the most important idea that surfaces from each chapter is that if you train your thoughts to focus on what YOU WANT, you will eventually get it.

Imagine how many people are out there who don't know how to love themselves. Reading this book made me discover some part of myself that I didn’t know existed. It made me find the part of me that people don’t see, so I recommend this to anyone out there who felt like they need guidance to self-love.

This book resonated highly with me from the start, and it has helped me find a balance in my emotions and an acceptance of who I am. I've been through highs and lows in my life. I've gone from feeling terrible to having narcissistic tendencies and back again. This book has steered me to live a more relaxed and emotionally balanced life.

A part of the book I found very compelling was how one can utilize Self-Love to support and encourage others and lead them to a better place emotionally, rather than bringing them down.

Notice how other people feel, rather than how they appear to be. Be kind to other people who suffer, show them Love, and you shall receive Love.

COMI is one of the best self-help books I've read so far. It contains a very useful insight, personal experiences, and research to back it all up. The language of it is wonderful, making it effortless to comprehend, and I can definitely recommend this book to others.

The strongest power we possess is Love, and because of that, we will overcome our suffering with Love. Don't try to evade it, because it's the aversion of it that ultimately hurts.

Never have I encountered a self-help book with such simplicity, yet such profound wisdom. It includes everyday issues that everyone has (in degrees). This book has shed light on such things as holding ourself to a standard that leads to mental illness, addiction, Alzheimer’s, and alcoholism.

We have this innate concept that we aren't good enough or have to do our to-do list, and do it right or......well, that's it. We hold on to this identity that we have to do or become and act in certain ways or else something bad will happen; others will think less of us; and we’ll lose the identity we've held onto.

This book is about overcoming mental illness and addiction, alcoholism, and other incurable diseases. It's about Self-Love. It's about faith. And it's not preachy. It looks like it's handwritten, so we slow down to read it and its bare bones wisdom to be reading it in one fell swoop or digest in small bites. I inhaled it and now it's time to go back and reread it, because it is just that important to my well-being.

Soul soothing.

Please read this, you won't regret it! It has changed my thoughts in such a beautiful way. If you're having a rough time, this book is a must.

It has opened my eyes to see life from a completely different point of view. If you struggle with depression or in the darkness, this book will help you shine your light.

Perhaps someone else would say - I already know this, there is nothing revolutionary here, but I think that’s the beauty of this book. It’s short, sweet, and gets to the point quickly, without repeating the same ideas over and over. The suggestions are practical and I will definitely give them a try. After all, who has the time to read 700 page books on overcoming mental illness, let’s be honest, what we really need to do is to start the practice and as soon as possible!

I believe, if everyone on this planet read her books, the world will be a better place. Enlightening, powerful, and a must-read for everyone.

A simple book with a powerful message.

"LOVE YOUR-SELF ENOUGH TO KEEP
YOUR SPACE DOORS LOCKED"

Loving yourself isn’t a selfish thing to do, yet, it's not easy! Maybe the moment you read the name of the book, the first thing that comes into your mind is that it's so typical and familiar. But believe me, these types of books should be read every once in a while. Sometimes, we rely on others to get love and care. When they stop sharing that (and it normally happens), we are lost in a dark loop that our mind has created for us.

The biggest mistake we commit is that, we let ourselves fall into a pit of despair and sorrow and never know when we're gonna get out of it. But when we learn how to love and appreciate ourselves, no one can break us down.. You may lose anything you have but never lose yourself.

It's an easy message but in need of mental effort to practice. Let the light enter the dark loop and never let it out.

I read self-help books frequently, and this is definitely one of my favorites. It's hard to describe exactly why I liked it so much. I only know that I found myself unable to put it down once I started.

COMI is one of the most simple, loving, and progressive books I have ever read. This book was written in a clear, gentle, straightforward way and was easy to stick with. I read a chapter or two before bed and it would calm me and usually, I found parts of it that resonated well with what I was feeling or what I went through that day. At times I felt like the book was speaking directly to me.

The affirmations on each page are great for just opening the book and seeing what is drawn to you.

Anyone wishing to experience their higher Self, or learn how to work with light and energy to create their reality will benefit greatly from this book. Reading it is like being held in a warm embrace from the depth of your spirit. Enjoy!

Ok, so this book was recommended to me by my counselor. I was feeling really down on myself because I wasn't bouncing back from chemo as quickly as I wanted, and I was having panic attacks pretty regularly. With her help and this book, I've started talking to myself more kindly. I never realized how self-critical I was being. Not only was I having panic attacks (exhausting), but I was hating myself for having them (even more exhausting). By using Self-Love, I have been able to accept my hard emotions and calm myself. For some folks, this book might seem like overkill (maybe these people have always been nice to themselves), but for me, it was a crucial step to healing my cancer trauma.

I strongly recommend this book to everyone - from people who think they have a kind of depression or any other mental disorder, to people who believe they have a perfect life without any psychological concern.

This book is helping me to get my head out of an awful depression, anxiety, and toward self-love.

There are times I suffer from anxiety even now, though I believe I'm doing much better at letting go when it starts to rear its head. This book was loaned to me by a dear friend, who I know cares about me enough to let me know when I need a book like this in my life. I'm very grateful to her for 1) sharing Nancy Lynne Harris' book with me and 2) reminding me to be mindful.

I cannot really review this book because it was a book that I needed. And with these kinds of books, you really can't put them into words. All you can do is pass it forward to someone else who needs it. I will say that this book is the first of many mindfulness books that I wish I had read sooner, and I plan to continue putting the lessons I gained into practice more with each day.

Harris' book is an easy read. She keeps it really simple. This is clearly a work from the heart.

I was so excited to get this book and purchased it through the kindle app. But there’s so much more information, guidance, and recipes that one needs to be highlighted, that’s why I am ordering the paperback as well! There’s so much resourcefulness, love, and transparency within Harris' words. As if she was here speaking every word that you feel so connected. It has helped me and fulfilled every part of my mind, spirit, and soul that I very much needed. I have read other books on self-help but this book is on another level.

This is a book that has to be read over and over again. It is not magic! On the contrary of the reality of normal human existence. Every time when you have a mental health problem, just look at this book and try to understand the reasons, so you can face and fix them after understanding. You can overcome mental illness better than any medicine.

This book got me through a very difficult time. It was a changing point for my mental health and my relationship with what's between my Self. This book probably has had more impact on my life and mental health than any other book.

It made me realize a very simple yet often forgotten truth: Saying negative words towards myself for everything, for a single mistake will not make me a good person, because I already am. Self-hate makes me think that I am a bad person and that it prevents me from becoming a better person. It's a battle of life and death, because once you realize the truth, there is no need for self-hate to exist. And the only way you can win is for you to fight as if you're fighting for your dear life, because it actually is a battle of life and death.

There is nothing wrong with me, neither with you. Loving yourself is the answer.

When this book was given to me as a gift, I read the title and was a little offended. "What, he thinks that I think that something is wrong with me?" Then my gears started turning: "Maybe there is..."

Ironically, this sort of defensiveness and the resulting negative self-talk are exactly what Nancy Lynne Harris dissects in a book that is far more spiritual than psychological.

This book is anti-self-help, because it promotes a belief that everything you need is inside you - there is nothing to fix. The Self needs no help. Through positive words, journaling, and acknowledgment of our goodness, we can shine.

All of this just needs to be released from within, coddled from without, and appreciated as much as possible. So, there's no reason to be defensive. This is a fast, multi-genre work that is worth the time and effort.

This book legitimately changed my life!

Nancy Lynne challenged my perception of myself and presented me with practices and ideas that allowed me to better my own relationship with myself. Before reading this book, I was unaware of how much negative talk I had going on in my own head. I even complain when someone says something rude to me, and yet, here I was being so awful to myself daily and not even thinking twice about it. This book made me aware of my negative words and thought processes that can cause mental illness. Truly amazing!

Any level of reader can read this book and get something important out of it! I'd also say that it really helped me deconstruct some of my own harmful thinking errors, particularly those moments where I am seeking out acceptance from others when I should be learning to accept myself. I definitely recommend this read to everyone!

This is one of the finest books I have ever read, amazed by the simplicity yet magical writing of Nancy Lynne Harris. One should read it at least once in his life.

I always thought I knew something about self-love and healing, until I read this book. I thank the author for all the wisdom, knowledge, and love she has adaptly infused into my mind through her masterpiece. I hate to think how ignorant I have been for so long, but it is time to start over now that I have become enlightened.

All this should be enough for you to get a good idea of the benefits offered by this book. We all need more self-love, as it is the basis on which we can build a successful life.

I strongly advise you to read this rewarding book penned by this articulate and amazing author.

Perhaps I’m just in the right place at the right time for this, but I thought this book was great. I even considered that I may need to read it again just to make sure some of the points hit home again. I really enjoyed it and felt deeply inspired by her messages. I’ve struggled with my weight and dated several narcissists, and in reading this book, I had so many epiphanies. It may not be for everyone, but it was just what I needed right now.

This is something that needs full apprehension of the inner world depending on your mental well-being. Generally, it could be everything or something so to speak. Try it if you feel refused or unloved and confused or agitated.

I highly recommend this book to everyone! If you only read one book a year, make it this one!

I started reading this book out of boredom, it was a very random choice. I have never heard of it or anything, and I'm sad that I didn't.

I didn't think I could finish it in one sitting. Yes, I know it's a very short book, but I was very sleepy so I really didn't think I would stay up for a book I had never heard of. It might sound weird, but after reading this book, I felt refreshed. I felt a deeper sense, like what's my next step? You guys must read it.

Spiritual teachings encourage us to grow past and through painful experiences, each of which is a spiritual lesson. Developing intuitive ability will help us learn the lessons inherent in our experiences.

I honestly recommend it to everyone. This will be one of those books that I will read over and over.

This book offers an insightful approach to mental illness. Every chapter is unique, with different lessons you can learn from it. This book not only encourages spirituality, but it also tells us to love and believe in ourselves most of all so that we’ll be able to fight away illness.

As a person who was lost in spirit at one point in my life, I can attest that having no faith really put me in a bad mental place. No drugs worked and I wasn’t able to recover until I made peace with my inner self and started to accept God in my life again.

A truly recommended read. It’s not only insightful; it can also be fun once you really get into it. The author is really persuasive and I find myself going back to it over and over again.

This book impacted me a lot. As a person who has dealt with the struggles of mental illness, this book really made me see how important a firm mindset is to fight off your inner demons. The book made mental health look like it can be conquered, and the more I read, the more I get the drive to fight the demons inside of me.

I like how casual the author is in her writing style, yet you can still be persuaded and moved by her words. I had a lot of highlighted sentences that stuck with me in this book, and I hope to read it at least once a year to remind myself that mental illness will not hurt me as long as I continuously say that I believe in myself.

This book provides a lot of useful tips for you to have a stronger faith in yourself. The whole purpose of the book is to give you a stronger mental capacity and a higher faith in yourself in order to ward off mental illness, and I believe the book achieved its purpose.

I’m a person who has self-doubts and I don’t think I have the right mindset, and because of this book, I understood why I am constantly a victim of different mental demons. Not only do I put down myself every time, but I also do not strengthen my faith. This book helped me realize that I’m the only person who can help myself run away from mental illness, not the drugs I take, not the therapists I talk to.
