Urban Rules and Processes: Historic Lessons for Practice

Rate this book
This book brings together the author’s research results since the early 1980s addressing the question on how to learn from the experience of historical/traditional urbanism applicable to our contemporary era and for the future. The book is structured into three parts for a total of fifteen chapters. The first part sets out the historic precedence, the second part presents a framework for recycling the relevant lessons with examples, and the third part concentrates on the underlying generative processes that is a crucial aspect of the author’s findings. Although the research was based in the context of societies surrounding the Mediterranean basin, the insight gained is relevant to other regions of the world.
