The first season was one of contemplation. The second, of choices. The final...? Consequences.
Regina and Ray have begun to rebuild atop destruction. But have they cleared all of the rubble away? What happens when a solid union is constructed on shaky foundation? Will it stand or will it crumble? Derrick and Aleeya are not Derrick and Aleeya. For the second time, they've entered a new season apart. Is it destiny or doom that await if they should connect? With so many odds stacked against them, will the dice ever roll in their favor? Yael has gone missing at a fragile turn in Justice's life, leaving him feeling more isolated than before meeting her. With time to reflect, he begins to analyze why he's so dedicated on saving others. Should he toss out the raft once more, or stop himself from drowning this time? The Finale packs answers to the burning questions. For two seasons, readers have trekked further into the dark cave of Takerra's mind and these characters' soul-twisting world, and now suddenly - they're handed a flashlight. All they have to do is make it out. Let's see who makes it out with them...together.
Takerra Allen was born in Jersey City, NJ and resides in Somerset, NJ. In addition to being an author, the 25 year old is the CEO of an all female Entertainment Company entitled Heaven Inc., and the half sister to the late renowned Tupac Shakur (sharing the same biological father, former Black Panther, William Garland). Writing continues to be Takerra's first love however, and her work has been appraised by many veteran African-American writers. Her first novel, Thicker Than Water, has become an underground success making it's way into mainstream recognition. Look forward to more works and projects from Takerra!
Is my lip busted y’all?! No?! What about this black eye?! I KNOW y’all see this black eye?! No?!🤕 There HAS to be some physical damage after the way Takerra just beat me TF up because they’re for DAMNED sure is some emotional damage and Peter Francis Geraci said I’m entitled to compensation. Yeah I know he’s a bankruptcy lawyer but stay focused! 🤣🤣
Chyyyyyyyyyy why did TA do me like this?! ME?! A loyal reader of her books?! A recent yet faithful supporter?! CLEARLY we aren’t as tight as I thought we were because she did me IN with this series😵💫! Like I dont have the words to describe what reading this did to me. I really should’ve been hooked up to a monitor and observed by a doctor reading the last 200 pages of End Game. 😮deep breath in 😮💨 deep breath out!
***POSSIBLE SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT***
Ok Justice and Yael started out strong in book one but I easily lost interest in their journey after everything that transpired between them. I 100% lost interest in his story all together by book two and was only invested in Yael and her healing. The way their story was written was very realistic because had it been written any other way ending included, I wouldn’t have believe it. So kudos to TA for giving us what we needed and not what she thought we wanted. With the way their storyline played out, she stayed true to what these characters did and didn’t need.
Dice and Aleeya…. What can I say!! I was EXTREMELY invested in these two. The love was toxic and intense and unhealthy. The way these two took me through it had me feeling like I was fighting for my life. Like I was trying to come up for air but the depths of the ocean left me with no relief in sight. Every time either of their names popped up for their pov chapter my heart rate INSTANTLY increased because I never knew what I was going to get with these two. I wasn’t sure how I felt about how things played out with these two because I was rooting for them to get it right! In the end I support Aleeya’s decision and who knows, maybe there’s more to their story in the future. 🤷🏽♀️
Ray and Regina- my babies, my loves, my favs in the series, the ones that put the most tears in my eyes and just as many smiles on my face, the two that deserved happiness the most! They fought hard and while the journey was bananas, what a heartbreakingly beautiful journey it was! They deserved this! My heart still isn’t healed from what happened with them especially after finally learning the truth but the peace they were able to carve out was refreshing to say the least.
Eloise Jenkins you dirty ole hag!! That’s all I got for you!
What happened to Hawnee?! I know they made up but I wanted to read it on page!! His heart was pure and Aleeya’s hurt and anger was definitely misdirected 😕
Mimi and Charisma I get it! I’d be a salty b*tch too but y’all knew what y’all signed up for. At some point y’all gotta choose yourselves 🥴
This is all my poor heart and fingers has words for….. read the series!! Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Oh and be ready for ANY AND EVERYTHING! ✌🏽
This series turned me every way but loose. I laughed, I cried, I was frustrated, I was disgusted - I felt so many emotions.
Takerra continues to be one of my favorite authors because of how realistic and raw her characters are. She pushes you to your limit as a reader, pushes you to the edge..sometimes she pushes you over and sometimes she spares you.
I don’t even really have the words for a review so I’ll be back.
This is the first TA book series I didn’t need a drink after reading. True love always finds its way. Also felt a few people should have died but i enjoyed this series now on to Parachute once part 2 drops
Wheeew! I had a time reading this series. Again, I’m not a series person so the fact that I finished this entire series in 2 weeks says a lot!
Book 3 answered the questions that I was left with after reading book 2, but I still have a few more questions in terms of the characters and how their seasons ended.
Ray and Regina: Baby, I loved these two but they had SOOO much OLD and NEW stuff to work through that I almost thought they wouldn’t be able to get through it all, but they did in a way.
Ray: I still love you! He was the only man in this series that I felt like had a level head and didn’t do much to make me look at him sideways.
Regina: She was my favorite FMC in this series. I know she loved Ray, but there were times I questioned her allowing her emotions to outrun her logic with certain things. Ray did some questionable things, but logic explained why he did them.
Justice and Yael: I don’t want to spoil what happens with them. But I’m happy things ended the way they did. Two people with too much trauma that needed to heal before anything else.
Justice: I loved him in the beginning, but I hated him so much throughout various parts of book 3. I’m glad he finally got it together, but I still question him and his sanity.
Dice and Aleeya: The last 25% of the book was about them and I couldn’t stand it. These 2 DO NOT need to be with each other. Age aside, there’s too many things that have happened that prove that the “love” they have between each other is not enough to withstand their relationship.
Dice: I understand why the girls think he needs a book. He does but not because he’s book bae, but because I still have questions about him and his charges and how he changes after what happened.
Aleeya: Whew! She worked my nerves with her bullshit especially when it came to her and Mimi’s stupid bullshit. She thought she wouldn’t end up like Mimi until she was faced with some tough shit. I’m glad she got her mind right and chose herself at the end.
NOWWW … Though it took forever to find out why Baby Ray did what he did, I am sooooo pissed as to WHY he did it. Them kids fucking suck! I truly wish that we would have gotten a smidge more leading up to us finding out the why.
This series really kept me entertained and wanting to read it because of the development of the characters and their stories. TA made me feel like I was in the book at times. 😂
“Seasons of Fidelity: End Game” by Takerra Allen was one of my most anticipated releases of 2020. This is the last and final season and we are once again thrown into the lives of Ray, Regina, Dice, Aleeya, Justice, and Yael. I won’t get into specifics but I must say that although Justice and Yael had the least amount of scenes this go round, in my opinion, the moments that they shared both together and apart were emotional, raw, and appreciated in more ways than one.
“Seasons of Fidelity: End Game” had my emotions all over the place. There were so many twists and turns. It was heavy at times, dark even. But throughout, there was hope, happiness, and redemption. Questions were answered. Choices were made. Things were lost but a lot was also gained in the process. So many topics were touched upon including grief, abuse, addiction, and toxic family members. I’m happy with how everything ended (although Gigi was definitely doing the most this time around). My fingers are crossed that we will see these characters again in the future. There’s so much that I could say but I’ll leave it at that.
This series took me on a very emotional ride. End Game gave me the closure I needed and finally got the answer to my question "WHY?". This was a great book and an amazing series.
This review is for all three books in the series and the same review will be posted for each individual book.
This series had my emotions all over the place. The stories were fast paced and packed with so much trauma, baggage and drama. The series starts with six main characters, Ray, Dice, Justice, Regina, Aleeya and Yael. Everyone with the exception of Yael knew each or about each during childhood. Ray and Regina are high school sweethearts and soulmates. Ray is from a single parent home and his father incarcerated. Even though his home life is the most stable, he still finds himself on the streets. Regina lives with her over zealous and religious grandmother and also assists with raising her little sister Aleeya. When Regina finds out she’s pregnant, Ray is taken away from her with a 15 year sentence. Upon his release from prison, they both want that old thing back. But Regina’s married and Ray’s in a committed relationship with his ride or die. They soon find themselves reunited by tragedy and unresolved issues for a second chance romance.
Dice is the man of the hour, pimps of all pimps and garden tool of all garden tools. Weighed down by a doormat of a girlfriend, 3 boys (2 bad ones a little Angel), and mommy issues, all Dice knows how to do is make money and fall in between legs. Aleeya is the baby of the group, with a deceased mother, absent father and hateful grandmother, she’s searching for love in all the wrong places. When Leeya and Dice meet at Ray’s welcome home celebration, the chemistry is immediate. With Aleeya being 21 and Dice in his early 30’s and being the ladies man that he is, their relationship is frowned upon. Aleeya has to decide if she’s ready to play house or continue on her path of growth and healing. Dice has met his met his match in Aleeya. He doesn’t believe in love but he’s ready to risk it in the name of.
Justice and Yeal was my least favorite story and I feel like it was enough going on in the other two stories that this one could have been admitted. Just had an abusive father that contributed to his demons but the loss of half his family made up the rest. Yael was born in Gabon, came over to visit family and met a man. she gave him her heart and upon his departure, he gave her a baby. Looking for Love and Stability, she met an older man whom she married. He gave her stability, another baby and lots and lots of a_ _ whippings. Justice and Yael meet, fell for each other and the story is just one disastrous event after another.
What a ride and great series. I felt all the emotions, I cried, laughed, felt anger, and hope. It's been a joy getting to know Regina, Ray, Aleeya, Derrick "Dice" Jones, and Justice. The character growth was amazing to read and the ending was very realistic.
This book came out a couple of years after book 2 so I was very excited to see how the plot ends.
The first half of the book keep my excitement! I though the author did a amazing job of maintaining the development of the plot.
Then came the second half of the book....
The second half of the book was very disappointing. I feel like there were too many twists and the plot was rushed. Also, I felt like there were too many completely random twists. The momentum the author had at the beginning wasn’t the same at the end.
Of the three couples in the series, Ray and Gigi was the only couple with the end game in my opinion.
It breaks my heart to give this book this rating because I am a fan of the author.
As for the series as a whole, I give it a 4 as it is a good urban fit love story. Book 3 just doesn’t have the same momentum.
“If you take your love away from me, I’ll go crazy…”
Season II left us with even more hypotheses than Season I which only heightened our anxiety for disclosure, all while wondering what else could possibly happen in this small familial community and their complicated worlds. Ray and GiGi finally (deep sigh) found grace in the universe and threw caution to the wind by allowing their inexhaustible love story to finally dance to the most infinite melody. Dice-Isms has reached a culmination and has evolved into unforeseen territory – vulnerability in the midst of a tainted affair of the heart. Justice has stepped into his accountability phase, as he hastens to a holding pattern of seeking solace in the arms of beautiful women while struggling with life’s complexities.
The fairytale slips from fiction to non-fiction as each of these iconic characters have to confront their Goliath’s and stand stark naked and unashamed in their truth…in their weaknesses…and in their insecurities about the choices they have made, past and present. Ray unearths the magnitude of his gargantuan sacrifice as a young man, delving into the darkness that he battled with more than a slingshot and a rock. GiGi’s fantasy has a blinding sting to it as she builds with the family she always dreamed about…but did she count the enormous cost? Dice’s infatuation with that forbidden apple factors into choices of a foreign element of love vs the family unit that he always said he’d maintain above all else, but is that even fathomable? Aleeya has to decide if she wants to play house with the extraordinary fabulosity that it incurs or if she’s still the young impressionable girl that will follow the leader, even if it hurts. Justice, Justice, Justice…No Justice, No Peace, or could it be that Justice simply has no peace, no matter how good of a guy he really is. Yael’s disappearance continues to serve as a backdrop for all attuned to her dismal storyline.
Takerra Allen delivered with the much anticipated last season of this phenomenal series centered around iconically created characters. I commend her for throwing that curve ball with the deviation of titling the finale End Game, very original. End Game executes grisly truths, humbling realizations, mind altering explosions filtered with passionately unpredictable scenes that will challenge your thought patterns. The depth of scene development was remarkable as the depiction was as vivid as watching a movie…visualization was excellente. End Game answered long awaited questions coupled with devastating revelations. Takerra finished this series by shutting the door without locking it, closure without closure. There were a few editing issues, but they never overshadowed any outline in this amazing tale of love, life, family, friends and lemonade. I’d also like to commend Takerra for her teaching, only because of a TA read do I automatically know what ‘mien’ means among other words of description. #BAM She stretches her readers beyond mediocrity, if you ain’t ready, you already know what to do. Soooo…I exuberantly recommend this series, it will not disappoint. Takerra Allen, get to know the many facets of her innate skill in the written word. 4.78 #ThatzTazzyezTake
Ray and Regina are mourning the loss of their son, while building a new life together. They experience many highs and a few lows, which helps them realize that their good days far outweigh the bad ones. I love this couple so much.
Justice is the main focus in this book. As he battles his addiction to alcohol, he finds himself caught in the middle of a love triangle. Who will he choose and can he live with his final decision?
Aleeya and Dice are living life "the Dice way", but Aleeya soon finds out that everything that glitters isn't gold, and she has a difficult decision to make about her future. I always felt that she wasn't ready for the life that was being handed to her on a silver platter, but what do I know? Lol Poor Dice has finally put down his player's card, but somehow the streets keep calling him back. He was humbled in more ways than one in this book, which made him mature, and I loved it.
We finally find out what led to that fateful day that changed their lives forever.
This is the way you end a series! Once again, @bytakerraallen has given us an amazing read. My favorite character is a tie between Dice and Regina, for totally different reasons. Dice, for his growth and Regina for her strength. My least favorite character was Gail. She was like a gnat that wouldn't go away. Overall, I highly recommend this book and this series.
This was a great story, but I still feel like there were some loose ends. The Dice Jones Way Baby...Mr. Jones never disappoints and I loved his growth and transparency over the last 2 books. Aleeya; I wanted to be upset with her and though I didn’t like how she handled things with Dice, I get why she did it. Regina, irritated my soul with her self righteous, he has to be perfect, only my feelings count because my kid died, behind self - like hello pot meet kettle, but I guess by the end of the book I didn’t loath her as much so she’s aite. Yael’s story is the only one that felt complete...overall I’ll rate it 3.5, but since you can’t give half ratings it gets a 4. Again a great story and you feel every emotion; a true emotional roller coaster, but I feel the epilogue was incomplete only fully giving an update on one couple while giving a briefing on the others and we don’t truly know what happens with another after waiting nearly 3 years for the series to be completed, but all’s well that ends well I guess.
Dope series! So much love, so much loss, so much these characters have gained! I will definitely recommend this series. Takerra Allen did her thing! I enjoyed every moment of it! But...can we get a sequel on Aleeya and Dice?😊💖Awesome Job!
This was dragged out, the story was boring and never ending. It took me 2 weeks to read this, when it normally only takes 3 days. The first book was great, had me anxious for the next one. This left me disappointed.
The end game has sadly arrived 🥹. This story pulled me every which way but loose, and while I wish we’d gotten answers to a few lingering questions, I truly appreciated the overall development. The buildup was so well done, and that court scene…Goodness gracious. This series is simply amazing. Highly Recommend!!
Some people come into your life for a reason, some for a season, and some for a lifetime.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️
WARNING: SPOILERS
A Reason: These people come into your life to fulfill a specific need.
A Season: These people are with you for a period of time—a phase or chapter in your life.
A Lifetime: These are rare, lasting relationships.
“That’s the ones we marry, the ones we aren’t good enough for. Then we spend our lives trying to be. That’s how we become better men.”
First, I want to start off by saying that this series was very well and beautifully written. It’s very complex and layered. The characters are complex, each having their own different but intriguing storylines that will pull you in. If you’re familiar with a Takerra Allen book, then you know it’s not going to be a simple fairytale-like story. It’s going to be real and unfiltered. It’s going to hurt, but it’s going to feel good too.
I think this series is about life lessons and understanding that everyone who comes into your life isn’t meant to stay forever—but to appreciate connections for what they are and the purpose they serve. Every single character in this series was flawed, and I really had to look beyond their actions and really look at the reasons why they did these things to understand that they all had some trauma that shaped who they are in their adult lives.
I think it’s also important to acknowledge that I can sympathize with someone having past/childhood trauma, and certain things they may say or do are due to that unresolved trauma. However, I think it’s also important to acknowledge not to excuse harmful behavior because of it. I believe it’s important to hold space for both compassion and accountability. Yes, trauma can shape how someone responds to the world—but it doesn’t give them a free pass to mistreat others.
I like that, despite these characters being flawed, they love each other and are there for each other—flaws and all. Their found family dynamic, the brotherhood, even the complex relationships were all very well written.

For a Lifetime
Ray and Regina: They definitely went through a lot throughout this series—a lot of ups and downs. My heart broke for the both of them being split apart for so many years and then being reunited but both in relationships with other people. You could tell they were still in love with each other—literally from the first moment they saw each other again. But they were fighting it, trying to convince themselves that they were happy without each other.
Honestly, I felt Regina’s loneliness. She was really going through it! She had a husband that neglected her, she lost her son, she was trying to deal with her sister, and then there’s Ray. Although I didn’t condone the cheating—because let’s be real, having sex with your ex in the home you share with your husband is disrespectful as hell—I actually understand why she did it. It wasn’t meant to hurt anyone intentionally. She just needed to feel loved and desired after being neglected for so long, and Ray gave her that. I get it. It doesn’t justify it, but I get it.
She really was put through a lot. I couldn’t imagine that type of heartbreak. Despite the questionable decisions they both made, I was rooting for them! They deserved a happy ending. They definitely still had some things to work through.
Ray Corey is flawed but a good man—a make-it-happen type of man, a make-no-way-out-of-no-way type of man. Regina wanted him to be perfect, and that just wasn’t realistic. I was actually glad that the perfect vision she had of him was broken, because although Ray is a good man, he is far from perfect. He was still battling with demons caused by his time in prison, and he was also dealing with guilt from losing Little Ray.
At times, I did feel like Regina was a bit too emotionally dependent on him, to the point it was unhealthy. But I think that was due to her already losing him once and then also losing R.J. She didn’t want to lose anyone again—and definitely didn’t want to lose Ray for the second time, which is completely understandable. She was going through a lot of emotions. And I truly feel like Ray had no problem picking her up when she was at her lowest, even when she said hurtful things to him.
Ray had a lot of patience, because when Regina would get upset, she would say some very hurtful things. And it almost cost them their marriage. Although Ray did make some questionable decisions, at the end of it all, these two came too far not to see it through. I think their love story really shows that sometimes love is enough—and can prevail against all. They had so many obstacles to overcome, but they overcame them and had a beautiful, much-deserved happy ending.

For a Reason
Justice and Yael: Two beautiful, broken souls that got dealt bad hands early in life. Justice was my favorite out of the three men. My heart truly broke for him—for the little boy that was abused and then had to make a very adult decision to escape that abuse. Even though he went through some devastating trauma, he was still such a gentle, kind soul. He didn’t let his trauma shape him in a way that led him to mistreat others.
I loved Yael. She was such a strong and kind woman who was being beat down physically and mentally by that monster. I truly believe they came into each other’s lives for important reasons that taught them lessons and pushed them toward growth. Justice pushed her to finally leave her situation and made her see that there was light at the end of that dark tunnel. Yael made Justice open up to love again after being closed off due to his wife’s death.
Unfortunately, as beautiful as they were together and as much as they loved each other, in the end, they weren’t meant to be. Yael triggered his past trauma, and at one point, I think Justice triggered hers as well. Justice wanted to save her in a way he couldn’t save his wife and son—and it’s heartbreaking. But when things didn’t go that way, when she refused to leave, he started to spiral and started to drink again. Yael had a lot she needed to take time to heal from, and she was in no position to take on his demons as well as her own. She needed time to be alone for a while and just live her life freely with her kids.
I was happy to see Yael finally out of that situation and able to move on with her life. I teared up at the end seeing Justice reunite with his sister—that was something he really needed. I loved that.
Their ending was very bittersweet, but I think it was also very realistic. I think they will always hold a special place in each other’s hearts—and in mine as well.

For a Reason And a Lifetime
Jordin and Justice: My two favorite characters put together! If you’re not familiar with Jordin, she’s from Takerra Allen’s *Restricted* series—and the way her story ended was not the best. The love of her life literally died, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that she was in *Seasons*. I really felt like she got the short end of the stick in her series, so I was happy she was able to get a happy ending in this book.
I loved their story arc. Two people who have similar pasts and can relate to each other in a way no one else can—that was just brilliant writing! They could relate to each other so deeply because they both knew what it was like to lose someone they were in love with. Their chemistry was sweet, and I really enjoyed seeing their journey together.
Justice had to make a decision, because my girl Jordin had to make it known that she was not going to be second pick again! He got it together, though, and I really loved her love letter!

For A Season
Dice and Aleeya: I think they were only meant to be in each other’s lives for a season—or it could have just been right person, wrong time. I’m still not a fan of their relationship, and I think it was for the best that they didn’t end up together. I realize that these are two individuals who have serious, unhealed childhood trauma. I really tried not to immediately judge them and to understand that their actions are due to their trauma, but at the same time, I’m holding them accountable for those actions.
A trauma bond is a toxic emotional connection formed through repeated cycles of emotional highs and lows. It happens when someone becomes attached to a person who brings both comfort and pain—creating confusion, dependency, and a sense of loyalty that's hard to break, even when the relationship is clearly unhealthy.
I truly believe they had a trauma bond. It’s like when the highs were high, everything felt so good and intense—but when the lows were low, it seemed like Aleeya couldn’t get by without him. Dice created emotional highs, then withdrew suddenly, making her chase the feeling. Aleeya was aware this was hurting her but still felt tied to him, and the way he made her feel overrode logic.
I do feel like they had some good moments together, and I felt the love between them was very real. I loved the moment between them when Aleeya gave him that gift, which was something he wanted since his childhood. I think she healed a part of his childhood when she did that. I liked how he gave her reassurance when she needed it and put her on game about how to make money. They definitely are two individuals that are misunderstood—but understand each other.
I’m not really sure how I feel about Dice. He was manipulative and a user, but he was also abandoned, neglected, and sexually groomed. I think he used sex as a way to stay in control, and I think through sex is where he found his validation and self-worth. Due to his mother abandoning him, I think he felt unworthy and didn’t want to feel that way again—so he would detach himself emotionally. I feel like he used his money and his lifestyle to cover up that he is actually a broken man who’s deeply hurt. He didn’t really have anyone in his childhood to love him properly, and the only attention he was shown was from a predator, so I think he leaned into that in his adult life.
Aleeya has similar traumas. She was also groomed as a child and abandoned by her father. I think she tried to find love and validation from men through sex to fill that void her father left. Her father not wanting to be in her life made her feel unworthy—same as Dice—so she would seek that feeling of validation through other men. I think she would allow men like August to treat her any kind of way, which is a sign she never got to develop an internal sense of self, safety, or value.
They both have been abandoned by a parent, both confuse sex with worth. I think they both dissociate emotionally, and they both fear rejection. This is why I wasn’t a fan of their relationship. With his mommy issues and her daddy issues—and then also with the age gap—I just felt like them being in a relationship wasn’t good for either of them. They would use sex to solve their issues, and I think because Aleeya was so scared of disappointing him, she would allow it. It just wasn’t healthy for either of them.
Aleeya believed she wouldn’t become Mimi, but she got a tough reality check. This man had her dealing with things she said she’d never put up with. She realized she was starting to lose herself in him, trying to deal with all of his baggage while also dealing with everything going on in her life. It was too much for her, and she knew she was starting to lose herself—and she knew she had to walk away. I liked that Aleeya didn’t allow Dice to just do anything to her. She stood her ground, and she knew when to walk away in the end. I commend her for being able to. That’s where she’s different from Mimi—she knew when to walk away. She also didn’t enable his reckless behavior.
What really baffled me was him admitting that he basically used Mimi to dump all of his pain and anger from his past traumas and hated her for it—but also loved her for it too. I think he hated her for enabling his behavior and choosing to stay, but also loved her for it because he still used the things she would allow to his advantage. And even though he hurt her, she still loved him. It still doesn’t really make sense to me.
Mimi’s role in her relationship with Dice is heartbreaking because it’s rooted in painful truth. She’s not just the woman who got hurt—she’s the woman who stayed, believing loyalty could heal a man who never intended to change. Her devotion crosses into self-abandonment, enabling his cruelty in exchange for scraps of affection. Mimi isn’t blind to the damage; she’s trapped in the belief that love means endurance. She clings to his potential, not his reality, and in doing so, sacrifices her peace. Until she chooses herself, she’s not just a victim—she’s caught in a cycle disguised as love.
Mimi should have left that man a LONG TIME AGO, but unfortunately, she was too weak to walk away. A man will only do what you allow, and the things she allowed him to do just to keep him were diabolical!
I just don’t like how a man who’s been with his baby mother for years—and she’s been through so much with him, his infidelity, and even taking care of his outside child like he’s her own—can just switch up like that. He falls in love with another woman half his age and suddenly wants to marry her out of the blue, when he had his ex convinced he would never get married. I really don’t like the part Aleeya played in it either—being a willing participant in another woman’s pain by choosing to be the other woman.
I will never be a fan of one woman’s happiness being stomped on just so another woman can get her happily ever after.
She didn’t owe loyalty—he did—but she didn’t have to fuck someone else’s man either.
People like to excuse the “side chick” by saying “he was the one in the relationship,” but that’s too simple. If you’re choosing to insert yourself in something that hurts someone else—you’re choosing. That’s not neutral.
I’m aware that Mimi is partially to blame, because the things this man did to her—NO woman should EVER allow! The dick ain’t NEVER that good! But from my perspective, just because she allowed certain things to a degree, does that make it right for him to take advantage of that and continue to do those things?
And if the threesome wasn’t already bad enough, this man really had the audacity to bring Aleeya to her face like, “This is gonna be my side chick,” or whatever the hell that was. It was HELLA DISRESPECTFUL! He can have a “friend” on the side, but Mimi can’t? He didn’t even officially break up with her until he told her about the proposal—which is so fucked up!
If he really loved her, why not let her go? He knew he was never going to be the man she needed him to be, so why keep letting her hold on just to continue hurting her? And then, to deliver the final blow by proposing to Aleeya—how can a man be that insensitive and selfish to someone he claims to love?
It’s safe to say that I was never rooting for this couple, but I liked that Dice did show some growth at the end, I feel like he got humbled, but he needed that to make him grow and start his healing process. I am happy that Aleeya chose herself and decided to focus on herself, her healing, and her career. They both needed time apart to heal.
Really quickly, I’m just going to add some thoughts about Mimi and Charisma. I think it’s easy for people to say what they would never do for a man—even me—until they find themselves in love with a man and doing things they said they would never do. Doesn’t justify it, but I think it’s something to think about. These are two women who simply didn’t have any self-worth and weren’t strong enough to walk away.

Side note: One of the things I love about Takerra Allen’s books is that she really knows how to write a MAN! Swoon-worthy, natural protector and provider, mature—but they don’t go without their flaws. Even with those flaws, you still can’t help but either love or hate them.
When I see a grown-ass man like Dice Jones in a book—fine as hell, with a successful career, already established, and oozing charisma—I expect to see him with a woman who brings that same energy. Someone closer to his age and at his maturity level. Not a young, impressionable 21-year-old who’s still trying to figure herself and her life out.
Aleeya is definitely mature for her age, and she doesn’t just let him walk all over her, which I love. But still, seeing him with someone closer to his age would have been more appealing to me. A grown-ass man like Dice needs to be with a grown-ass woman who’s just as established as he is. Aleeya is still in the process of finding herself.
I’ve also noticed a trend in her books where the FMCs are younger—18, 19, 20, even as young as 17!—and they end up with these grown-ass 20-something-year-old men. I love her books, I really do, but I could definitely go without the age gaps. Especially when some of them come off as grooming.
I highly recommend this series. It will definitely take you through a lot of emotions, but it’s so worth it. This is a five-star series!

Good things come to those who wait. We've waited for over a year on this final installment, and it definitely did not disappoint. This book made me feel every range of emotions humanly possible, in good ways and bad ways. Takerra Allen is the only author that can make a read heavy and light all in the same sitting. Every unanswered question you may have had is answered in this book. I couldn't wait to read, but I'm definitely sad that it's over. Keep doing your thing TA! I can't wait for your next book!
This whole series took me through it but one thing I will say is that Takerra always gives us what we need, not what we want.
Ray and Regina- I am so happy they got themselves together because I was worried for a moment. Regina had some stuff she needed to move past and she expected Ray to be perfect even though he's human. Ray had some things he needed to work through also from him time away, and the time he lost with his son. I was so happy they were able to work it out because they fought the most for their happiness together.
Justice and Yael- WHEW baby these two were walking trauma. Both had been dealt unfair cards in life. These two were meant to be in each other's life for a season to help each other make some life altering decisions and once that was done, they were no more. I loved them together, but ultimately they weren't good for each other.
Yael- I'm so happy she is getting the healing that she needs because our girl deserves that and more.
Dice and Aleeya - Last but definitely not least. These two took us on a Rollercoaster but in the end both learned some very important lessons. Dice was a walking red flag from start to finish honestly and it's crazy how it took one woman to bring him to his knees and give him so humility. Dice was so used to everyone, especially women, bending to his desires that when Aleeya came along and didn't do that, he was not used to it. I think that's one of the main reasons he was so attracted to her. I loved me some Aleeya. She almost lost herself but I'm happy she was able to bounce back and put herself first when it counted. I hope this isn't the end of these two and they can reconcile later after they both have grown more.
Mimi - girl get a backbone. Like even in the end she was willing to get back with Dice after everything and I didn't like that.
Ray and Regina have a timeless love, full of longing ,hope and faith. They walked a line of Forgiveness that made love palatable.
Yael and Justice had a love of pain, understanding and friendship. They walked the fine line of Self reflection. They got to see the weakness and power of connections.
Derrick and Aleeya had a love of passion, trust and vulnerability. They walked the fine line of fragility. Both holding on to only the good parts of each other.
Takerra is a Master at telling love stories that make you become every character. She make you understand how to cope with the uncomfortable parts of love. She walks you through a path of Revelations, not only about the characters but, about yourself!
I have had all of my emotions come and go in this story. The love of Rat and Regina is just breathe taking. MiMi was a woman who did not valid herself. She got lost in trying to please Dice to pick her. Men don't respect of choose you when you let them have their way. Aleeya was young but she didn't let Dice get away with the way he treated her. I commend her for having the strength to walk away. Being that young he should have required her to be all in with him. Last but not least my boy Just, he worked on fixing himself and living for him even in the pain. Great story! I would like to see more from some of the characters. R&R have their family and happy ever after...
Talk about a wild ride. No one and I mean no one tells a story like TA. It’s so raw and real and dives deep. You’re going to laugh and cry and curse the characters out. But, you’ll love them all for who they are in the end. Not Mimi or Charisma, they both can go straight to hell. Desperate women are so ugly, no matter how beautiful they may be. Have enough respect for yourself to not let a man have the space to do you like that. They would have accepted dirt off the bottoms of their shoes if they offered it. Ugh! Bunny did my boy so wrong.
A REAL tale of love, grief, surrender & forgiveness
Takerra puts her characters in seemingly impossible situations then writes them out. I love reading her work so much!
Just like life, not every love ends in a HEA. I’m so happy to be at the point of my reading journey where I can stomach that. Art is a reflection of life & vice versa.
Takerra’s writing is like a mirror. It shows you, you & won’t allow you to look away. That being said, this just can’t be the ending for Dice & Aleeya. I know we see Dice in Needful Noor 2 years later & he’s still single…but I know Takerra don’t expect me to use my imagination!!! They have unfinished business! lol In real life though, I think Aleeya made an incredibly brave decision. She’s sooooo young. She has her life in front of her! She deserves to live it instead of being married to a man 12 years her senior, IN PRISON at that, so quickly. They moved soooo fast. In the same breath, I’m a sucker for love & really wanted them to find a compromise. Ultimately, they made the right choice in letting each other go.
Takerra writes “down bad” men so deliciously. It’s my favorite trope lmbooo these men are hard on the exterior but when it comes to the women they love, they are so soft and mushy and lovey dovey. Ray?! He loved Regina sooooo much. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her, her wellbeing & the wellbeing of their children. He made so many sacrifices, whether you agree with them or not and you just can’t convince me that he’s not a good man, Savannah! I’m sooooo glad they got their happy ending because of the 3 couples, they really deserved it after everything they went through.
I actually was happy with Justice & Yael’s ending as well. Once Jordin stepped into the picture, I felt she was a better fit for Justice than Yael. I’m glad Yael’s reunited with her family from Gabon & started over safely. That’s what she really needed.
The birthing scene? I don’t think I had a heart attack worse than that. I was so stressed with the idea of either Regina or the baby OR ALL OF THEM dying in that snow storm in the middle of the road. But thank God he & Takerra didn’t see fit to send me to an early grave 😂 I’m glad Rayna was born & is healthy.
What happened to RJ was despicable. & those kids did some messed up stuff to him. In an effort to crack on him for being gay, they were doing gay stuff. I don’t get how they didn’t see that, but a pox on their houses. I’m sorry. No remorse for bullies.
All in all, I can’t recommend this book enough. It was superb!
Goodness! This series was a roller coaster of emotions. I’m talking Velocicoaster mixed with Goliath mixed with X2 mixed with Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind type of roller coaster! (If you can’t tell, I’m a roller coaster ride enthusiast 😏) I wasn’t sure if my heart was going to survive this series. But mama, I made it! Barely 😥
I waited months to read this series because I KNEW I needed to prepare myself emotionally for what I was going to dive into being that this was a Takerra Allen book. I just knew Miss Takerra was going to take me through it; and take me through it, she did 😩
This series follows six individuals as they come together in friendships and romantic relationships (with one another and others) at different points in their lives. The series gives you the story from each of the six characters’ POV. There were a lot of ups and downs. Those downs though… they were intense. This series entails triggering and traumatic topics such as death, abuse (physical, mental, and emotional), suicide, abandonment, infidelity, co-dependency, bullying, and sexual assault just to name a few. But this series is also rooted in perseverance, resilience, strength, love, self-love, growth, support, forgiveness, grace, and steps towards healing.
My favorite couple in this series was Ray and Regina. They went through A LOT. But I was rooting for them through everything they experienced. I don’t want to give away their story, but just know they deserved a happily ever after.
My favorite character in this series was Raymond “Ray” Corey. He was flawed, like any other human being, and he made a host of mistakes (from teens to adulthood). But his heart was pure when it came to his true love and his kids. He was a protector, a provider, and a man that fought for the love he knew was meant to be (although I don’t condone the manner in which this played out, buuuut someone was going to get hurt no matter what 🤷🏽♀️). There’s so much more I could say about Ray Corey, but I implore you to go read the series instead. I must warn you though… be prepared for the emotional tug-of-war this series will take you through. Takerra Allen’s HEAs are not your traditional HEA.
There are so many things I want to say about this series in its entirety and yet I am sitting here in awe trying to find the words.
First let me say this is not a perfect love story or happily ever after, even after reading seasons one and two you tell yourself you want that perfect ending or happily ever after. Takerra has a way of pulling so many emotions from you with her characters because they are so real and so flawed and you feel like you know them and what they are going through. I have invested three years with these characters and though this is the end for the series it will stay with me forever, especially Mr. Derrick "Dice" Jones. I have said this to so many and even my husband that this man (i'm sorry character) is one that I will always keep at the top of my book bae list. He is at the throne and no other male character will EVER take his place and I am claiming it HERE and NOW! We meet these characters in season one and all we see is the exterior of them all dressed up in their own personal style and mannerisms. Then we get to season two and see them unclothed and just about the same mannerisms, but some extra realness peeping through. BUT and ohhh there is a BUT...we get to the END GAME the final season and we see inside underneath the skin and we get it ALL. What you thought you understood with these characters you get so much more and that is what I love most about this series. Takerra stripped them down to their very soul and she gave it to you raw and uncut with words that will stick with you forever...she's ill like that. This was a wonderful journey and I will never forget any of them...ever.
OMG what an exhausting end to such an engrossing series! The characters in this series really make you fall in love and hate them all at the same time. I mean Dice/Derrick's past had me forgiving him for all of his issues. Regina and Ray kind of got their happy ending but the road to get there was so tumultuous. Kids are cruel and what happened to R.J. was so disheartening and realistic because kids are so cruel. It was good to see Ray's experiences while he was in prison. Aleeya's road to recovery from her sexual trauma was necessary and I'm glad she got the therapy that she needed. I loved it when she bought Dice his very own Rock Em' Sock Em' toy. When Aleeya and Dice were together they were so good together but I did feel like she settled with him. I liked how Aleeya learned to walk away from a relationship when it was too toxic. I'm also glad that she pursued her career in dentistry. Jonathan was hilarious and such a good friend #TeamJonathan (Hawnee). Justice and Yael never seemed to find the right season and despite the fact that they were passionate they had so many battles that they needed to conquer separately. At some point I sympathized with Miyaki and Charisma. They let men string them along while they endured horrible treatment. This emotional story was consuming but I liked that it covered so many topics such as, alcoholism, PTSD, grief, abandonment, narcissism, anger management, unhealthy love, abuse, murder, and the list could go on and on.
