What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas — except for the secret baby created by Sapphire and Blaise after one passionate night.
When Sapphire, a budding upscale swimsuit designer, discovers she is pregnant from a one-night stand with billionaire Blaise, her world becomes undone.
With no knowledge of who he really is and where he lives, she is resigned to raise her ailing son alone. Born with a heart defect, her family turns on her, leaving her to bare the brunt of her decisions all on her own.
Years later, Sapphire is working hard to maintain her son’s health and her mental sanity. When her sister goes missing and she loses her job at a boutique, she is forced to work at Crown, a high-end gentlemen’s club. Which is the last place her sister was seen.
Thrusted into a new world, she meets many new people including her child’s father who has a closet of secrets all on his own. Secrets that could harm her if they were ever revealed.
In this steamy African American Urban book you will be stunned and left with your jaw on the ground at the many plot twists woven in this tale of drama, greed and lust.
This is not your average African American Romance novel. There are no drug dealers, kingpins or naive women but there are plenty of provocative characters that will have you biting your nails and hanging off the edge.
Are you ready to devour this sensual thrilling urban book?
This book read at a pretty fast steady pace... The storyline drew me in and peaked my interest... There is lots of secrets lies and backstabbing going on in here... The only problem that I had was that this book was VERY repetitive... Not sure if the author wanted to get that point across or of she just forgot that she had already said something and a few times... This to me kind of pulled my attention away from the storyline... I really liked Sapphire... She was smart and had a great heart and good morals... She didn't ask for help unless she absolutely needed it... She was handling being a single parent to a sick child as best as she could... Then it was like in one day her whole life turned upside down and the walls were slowly closing in on her... But she had to keep pushing through because she had to make sure her son was good... But was this one day of chaos really a blessing in disguise... I like Blaise... He is a smart man with a good head on his shoulders... He just happens to be trapped in a situation that he does not want to be in... But making the wrong decision could cost him a lot and bring on a lot of unnecessary drama... But the question is can he continue to live like this... Is it all worth his unhappiness... But just as quickly as he is trying to make decisions about what direction he wants to go someone from his past presents and now his life is about to change... But the question is what will this cost him... I do not like Orion... From page one I was not feeling him... It was just something that I could not put my finger on... But I knew it was something... And just that quickly he started showing who he really was... And I really can't stand him even more... But see he is out here moving funny and bringing chaos to so many people's lives... And I can not believe those that just go along with everything that he is doing... But I am going to sit back and just wait for everything that he is doing in the dark to have some light shined on it and for him to go down... Along with everyone he is working with... Not only that... How can he call himself a best friend to Blaise and he is doing him this way.... Blaise has never done anything to make him feel this way... and he has doing nothing but help Orion time and time again... But hey I guess like they say... Those closest to you will hurt you the worst... Now that Sapphire and Blaise have crossed paths again... How will this effect them and their future... I guess I will have to get into part 2 to see what direction this storyline will go next...
This book ended to soon at 88% on a cliffhanger. It's sad that Zenon has a heart defect that probably came from Sapphire taking that plan b pill. I can't wait for Blaise to meet Zenon because he really wants to have a father in his life. I hate Blaise is invested in Orion's club not knowing that he's creeping with his wife Adeya. I hate that Sapphire's looking for Jade not knowing she's tied into Orion's sex trafficking business. This book has so much going on.
A complete page turner! I love when a story is unpredictable. I thought I knew what would happen with a certain character/ situation in the story, but boy was I wrong, and that's a good thing! This tale completely draws you in. I nearly panicked when I got to the end and it said "to be continued". WHAT?! Thankfully there's a part 2 and 3. Go ahead and pick this up, you won't be disappointed. Can't write much more, I'm off to catch these sequels.
I need for Blaise to get rid of that Adeya! Also Orion is a greedy grimey snake. I'm hoping the Blaise found out they're both doing him dirty. I hope Autumn get help she doesn't deserve what Orion and Jade are doing to her.
The plot twist in this story. Just when you have things figured out. Sapphire mother is what’s wrong with the church, why some many fall deeper and deeper into a hole. Blaise need to play close attention to the company he keep
What a great read! I am so glad that Blaise realized that Zenon is his son and know that Sapphire is no gold digger! Wonder what will happen when his wife finds out! Jade is something else! All this time I thought she had been kidnapped! Need to get part two right now!
can’t wait to see what happens next. Hopefully Blaise will divorce his wife and get with sapphire and raise their son together And they find out about Orion and Jade sex trafficking women
N'Dia Rae has been been my favorite since "The Coldest Secret Ever". This is a page turner. The only issues I ever have with her work is the editing. But, she definitely is working her way up to being one of the best authors in the urban fiction arena.
This is freaking good. First of all I have. Pacemaker so I understand Sapphire’s headache. I don’t like Orion or Adeya. I wish Blaise would just catch them in the act.
He finally remembered the full nightmare/dream, his father was evil. Blaise finally knows he has a son. Adeya and Orion need to get caught and dealt with.
I there is way too much going on. Too many grammatical errors. To many conflicting POVs. Just no. I scanned the whole story in an hour. It just kept getting worst.
TRIGGER WARNING: there is a part of the book that has human trafficking and the storyline is quite triggering. The book is good and the way it ended had me immediately downloading book 2.
At first I was skeptical about reading it, but once I started, I couldn't put my phone down. The story captivates you and urges you to keep reading until the end.
