Beautiful, serene text leads the reader on the migration of the snow geese from Canada, across the American continent to New Mexico and back, commenting on how the land has changed over the many thousands of years that this annual migration has remained constant.
A fascinating non-fiction picture book about the yearly migration of the Snow Goose. I had no idea about the length of the journey they made and how many problems they must deal with to complete their journey each year. The pictures in this book are stunning, the incredible detail makes the reader feel as though they are really following these magnificent birds around the world. I would definitely use this with my class when studying animal habitats and changes in environment.
I loved this lovely book illustrated with the author’s beautiful close-up watercolor paintings. The story of the magnificent snow geese traveling thousands of miles, following the same path every year from the Arctic to California and Mexico is one of the most awe-inspiring events in the natural world. Such relentless travelers since they have to turn around and make the return trip to the Arctic again to raise a new generation of geese!
A story of the migratory path of the snow geese (complete with "where oh where have the Indians and the buffalo gone" sentiments). Our fair state even gets a mention!
