Diablo Falls

Betrayed by Blood

Rate this book
Passion and prophecy collided from the moment Gwen met the vampire, Tyr.

The floodgates opened on her psychic gift revealing betrayal, death, and a beautiful future with the superhuman man who kidnapped but couldn’t seem to stand her. If she doesn’t tread carefully the worst could happen and she’ll lose her happily ever after.

When Tyr snatched Gwen off the street, bedding the frustrating woman was the last thing on his mind. Okay, maybe he entertained the masochistic notion but only a bastard would take advantage of the situation and he honestly had the best intentions. He can’t let her fall into the wrong hands. There are vampires who would enslave Gwen, using the prophetic visions in her blood to gain power. Her rare gift has already revealed there is a viper in his midst.

Will Gwen and Tyr discover who the traitor is in time, or will they be Betrayed by Blood?

Betrayed by Blood is the sequel to First Sight, a continuation of Gwen and Tyr’s tale.

Welcome to Diablo Falls, where the world of the supernatural is out in the open, and where fangs, fur, and magic are the norm. Join the authors of Bite Club as they share tales of shocking betrayal in our growly, filthy collection of steamy short stories.

Writing is my hobby. As a child, I had a hard time learning to read, so anything I took an interest in was deemed acceptable. I have always enjoyed fairy tales, the older unsanitized versions, as well as the modern ones, mythology, science fiction, action and romance. As I read, my mind wanders, spinning its own tales. So, I figured I’d share my ramblings with you.
The books I write contain little snippets from my life. I leave it to you to decide which scenes are fact, fiction, or a bit of both. I am far braver and bolder than is likely sensible, so my heroines are just as gutsy. I'd probably be categorized as an adrenalin junky. My life has been an adventure. I've done archaeology in the hot sun, am well versed with power tools, took Tae Kwon Do in college, have ridden on a Harley with a dark stranger, but never met an alien, vampire or shifter, that I know of.
My stories are tawdry, feature a heroine who is gifted in some way, and will always end happily ever after. It is my opinion this is meant to be entertainment, and a depressing ending is not entertainment. Real life offers enough depressing crap. However, I have been called dark.
My apologies for my horrific grammar. It is something I struggle with. It is probably connected to the slow reading thing. Believe me people have tried. I truly hope that my fairy tales make up for it.

Alright, Betrayed by Blood did exactly what I hoped when I finished First Sight: it completed the story. I wasn't entirely sure (some writers like things to end like that), but I am very happy to say this really makes a complete tale. Definitely read First Sight before you pick this up or you'll miss the first meeting of our main characters. You can catch up, but it'd be so much easier to read the short first book.

I actually came to like Tyr quite a bit more in this: he's not just a pompous jerk after all! So we get a good fleshing out of both our main characters in this book that we only skimmed in the first book. Tyr is a fair and just ruler with a lot of responsibilities and he does his best to protect Gwen, despite her seemingly trying to spite him. Gwen being precognitive, had the drop on Tyr, so I have to forgive them both. They're adventure into romance was an entertaining ride with a good bit of humor laced in. They were fun to read about.

The overall story is dark and definitely sad, but we get a happy ending, not to fret! There is action, some vampire posturing, definite steam (and somewhat kinky), hi-jinks, and humor in this book. It was an easy to swallow read that I think most will enjoy.

Betrayal & vengeance at it’s finest

This book is even better than the first! I figured out who one of the bad guys was right away but his accomplice was totally unexpected.

Just one little bite...💫⚡️✨
Woe to anyone who locks Gwen away! They will regret it. Yes, Tyr was that unwise individual. I love her! She’s a relentless woman, determined to get free and help where she can. Tyr is equally determined to keep her safe. Tyr is exactly the type of vampire I enjoy reading about. Internal power struggles and missing humans get everyone in an uproar. I can imagine how difficult it could be to correctly interpret a vision of future events. To risk one’s life on such sketchy information? Scary! Packed with romance, tension, humor, incredibly close calls, amazing abilities, and a highly satisfying finish!

This was so fantastical. Imagine a town where the supernatural beings reign. There is a whole society unknown to humans. Tyr and Gwen’s story continues where it left off in First Sight.
They have to race against the clock to figure out Gwen’s visions before it’s too late. I enjoyed this and LOVED the ending. The rules have changed and this is very different from your average vampire story. I LOVE the heroine she has guts and doesn’t take any crap. The secondary characters have me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens to Hawthorne, Sonja and Ethan, and even Capac and Elizabeth..

Gwen and Tyr's story is epically amazing

OMG!! I fell in love with Gwen and Tyr in First Sight. They are sassy, incorrigible and funny. Then digging further into the mysteries of the visions and the plot thickened. I truly didn't see the 2nd traitor coming. I laughed, my heart raced, I cried and I smiled. The door is so open for spin offs. I hope that happens and I have several couples I'm already imagining. Of course, Gwen and Tyr making appearances so we can keep tabs on them ;)

My, my, my! I was taken by surprise. Who could have thought it was him who betrayed Tyr. And their friendship, it was all a lie.

Gwen was marvelous, I don’t know how Tyr managed to be calm about it but she was the light to his soul. I have one request though, I would like to know their life after especially after that special vision of Gwen.

OMG!! So good!! Loved the way Gwen and Tyr's love story evolved. So much passion and suspense. Totally didn't expect the traitor to be who it was.
