Francis Hopkinson Smith (October 23, 1838 – April 7, 1915) was a United States author, artist and engineer. He built the foundation for the Statue of Liberty, wrote many famous stories and received awards for his paintings.
It is rare for me to find a book of short stories that I like but this is one, The fact that they are all pro American and patriotic and inspirational helped. Just what all young readers need and all the rest of us enjoy. Great to read just before bedtime. Written over 100 years ago but still with meaning today. Good reading for the spoiled rich kids and those with their noses in the air.
