New beginnings?

Moving to the Dales is all about a fresh start for Dr. Elliot Grey, until he meets feisty—and beautiful—midwife Polly Davies. Not since his ex-wife abandoned him and their son has Elliot had such a strong reaction to a woman!

A relationship is the last thing he needs, yet there's something special about Polly. Maybe it's the way she's bonded with his son, or that the pain of his past fades in her presence, but one thing is certain—he's struggling to find reasons to stay away!

Dr Elliot Grey wants to move away from the rat race, he wants to bring his son up in the Yorkshire Dales where the air is fresh and life is hopefully more relaxed. His wife left him when his son was born with Spinabifida and he has been a single dad since. He's kept away from women and romance because he has lost all faith in love.

Polly Davies is a community midwife, jilted on the day of her wedding and determined to just focus on her work, she first meets Elliot when he is involved in a car accident. He is OK but the driver of the other car is in terrible pain. She is pregnant and the fear is that she is going into labour. Polly and Elliot argue whether it's best to leave the woman in the car until an ambulance and come with the proper equipment to remove her. But Polly insists that they can move her and must do it because if she is in labour she needs to be lying down.

From that moment on sparks fly between them, both have a lot of emotional baggage to deal with yet they both can't believe how strongly they feel towards each other. Will they be able to put their pasts behind them and move forward, or are they destined to stay apart?

The budding romance continues around various hospital cases with children as Elliot is a pediatric surgeon. It was fascinating and very emotional reading about some of the cases, I even had to get the tissues out at one point. Don't worry though, there are more happy moments than sad, and I enjoyed the book very much.

I haven't read a mills and Boon books in long while this the second book i have read over the weekend. It nice quick read. I read the book over night. I was about a single father Elliot Grey who is a pediatric surgeon and has eight years old son Joseph who has spina bifida. Polly a mid wife who is recently dumped by her partner the night before their wedding.
Polly meets Elliot Grey at the site of car accident he is involved with one of her patients. He is very opinionated about mid wife's role in the community. Slowly Polly starts to fall for Elliot and his son. Elliot slowly discovers the is weaving her way into his life and heart.

An ok book, but I really struggled connecting with Polly. She was way too much of a Mary Sue...letting everyone gossip and make unfounded allegations while essentially protecting her cheating ex. She needed more of a backbone.

Elliot was gruff, but likeable. His son was great.

Bride for The Single Dad

This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed it, I loved positive Poly but i thought Elliot needed to learn better people skills.
