A bunch of animals (and one boy, and some fruit) are doing or exhibiting things that are either homophones or homonyms of their names.
The back of the book has a brief definition of homophone and homonym, and then kids can go back and read it again and see if they can pick out which is which. Simple but clever, and a great way to learn this bit of language arts. Pair this with Yaks Yak by Park for a good compare/contrast read and further practice identifying homophones and homonyms.
This book blew the mind of my 5 year old. It might be a little while before she understands this book. Lol. It also took us 10x longer to read because I had to explain everything. 🙄
A book of homonyms including homophones and homographs. Bright amusing illustrations with each pair of words given a double-page spread. A book for discussion about words, meanings and sounds.
