Mia is an energetic child who rushes around despite many warnings. She learns a lesson the hard way, which many young readers can relate to. Readers will love the beautiful illustrations.
I want to love this book. The characters are designed beautifully and illustrated expertly. That the book features an extended family of color with natural hair and positive discipline is stellar. The concept of the book - running at inappropriate times can cause injury - is sound.
Personally, I looked for a stronger read aloud quality that isnt quite there yet with this text. As a parent of a short attentions child, we need quick and clipped sentences along with the long and eloquent.
It's a great debut, Niya, and I expect future offerings will further develop your authorship.
This is a fabulous book with an important lesson to be learned. Teaches all about safety. The illustrations that accompany this book are exquisite and will capture your child's imagination.
