Papyrus is Book Two in the Relic Hunters Taskfors Series. Ever since I read the first book in the series, Scroll I have been waiting for this book to come out!

Papyrus is ACTION packed!!!! The history and biblical research in this book is evident to this reader.
The story flows at a perfect pace. Abigail and Riley are back and on a mission to save Goliath's spear (yes THAT Goliath's spear) from getting in the hands of ruthless criminals.

The descriptive writing is so excellent I was blown away.

It is a race against time and my heart was racing as I flipped through the pages. I read this book in one sitting, it is so GOOD and authentic. The story is so interesting and dynamic.

I couldn't put it down! I highly recomend this book and this series and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Adventure and danger await in the pages ahead.

In this fast-paced and action-packed story.

Some girls just can't get a break. All Dr. Abigail Spencer wants is one date with Agent Jack Riley. Without being drawn into an investigation by RHTF (Relic Hunters Taskforce). The government agency in which is Riley's employer, and whom Dr. Spencer is a paid consultant.

Abigail and Riley are on the hunt for the spear of Goliath. The actual spear he carried into battle against David.

Ruth Hartzler has done her homework in both history, and biblical history to bring a tale that is both captivating, and nail-biting. Descriptions of the possible tunnels and protections built into the ancient pyramids are completely believable and vivid enough that you feel you are right there with the characters as they go from one danger to another.

Papyrus is Book Two in the Relic Hunters Taskforce Series.
Riley & Abigail are off on another relic hunting mission, this time in Egypt, where Abigail is asked to translate some hieroglyphics to determine the location of “Goliath’s spear”, the one he carried into battle against David.
As expected from the first book, we have adventure, danger, and a race against time whilst avoiding ruthless “enemy agents” who will stop at nothing to get hold of the spear. There are puzzles to solve, mysteries to unravel & booby traps to contend with. Who can be trusted?
The story was fast paced, and whilst very fantastical in places, did have a grounding in research – you can tell that the author has knowledge of the subject. The descriptions of the pyramid/tunnels and the inbuilt booby traps are believable, though I do have to wonder how the snakes & crocodiles survive in the isolated pits! I liked the biblical references, which made it quite different to some other mysteries & formed a clever structure to the plot, which ultimately is about how “treasure” will make people greedy to the point of murder.

In the first book of the series, Dr Abigail Spencer was a feisty, gritty, capable heroine, unfortunately my fears are becoming reality as we see her becoming a simpering love interest in this book – incapable of holding her own, always having to be “protected” by Riley.
*Please* can we stop this stereotyping of women!
For this reason, the book just scrapes a 2* (I’d give it 1½ if I could!)

Papyrus" Archaeological Adventure (Relic Hunters Taskforce Book 2) by Ruth Hartzler

I received a free copy of this book via author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh my God. I could not stop reading this book. I slept tonight because I had to, but today I've spent every free minute reading Papyrus. I loved the book, I love the Relic Hunters series and the way Ruth Hartzler is capable of giving the story the right amount of suspense, danger, adventure and action, making me feel like I was one of them, living the story while I was reading.
Now, I'm ready for Codex, book 3.

I loved Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones. Only this new series by Ruth Hartzler is 100 times better. It is steeped with Biblical history that was fascinating to learn. Loosely featuring the story of David and the giant, Goliath, we learn about a spear that Goliath carried but didn't use against David and his slingshot. Abigail and Riley are trying to locate it before it falls into the hands of the mercenary organization known as Vortex. The author is such a descriptive storyteller that reading this book is like trailing 4 or 5 feet behind the characters and watching the nail biting adventure unfold. It is fascinating, and nothing like the way I learned about this ancient history originally!
Exciting and fast paced made it over too soon. Sure to be enjoyed by any arm chair adventure lover!
Don't miss this great series!

It's their first date; they've just been seated at the restaurant when his phone rings; suddenly they are off on another relic hunting mission. Of course, it's an adrenaline pumping, racing through several countries kind of adventure that you expect from this author and this series.
