Cubs for Rent #6

Once He Breaks

Rate this book
A spoiled billionaire meets a lowly ranch hand and sparks fly... in more ways than one.

Dex Wise is the billionaire playboy everyone dreams of winning. Until they meet him, that is. Dex is spoiled and vain. The number of people he cares about can be counted on one hand and only takes one finger. He’s never met anyone who doesn’t have a price. Life bored him to tears years ago. The only things he feels any passion about are the TV shows he creates. Those are his babies. He won’t let anything ruin that love, especially not the problems of some stubborn ranch hand named Colt who is way too sexy and stubborn for his own good.

When Colt started his job at Crooked Creek Ranch, he never expected his duties would include babysitting twenty drunk college students for some rich guy’s reality show. While he might not have any choice in the matter, he’ll be damned if he lets Dex Wise completely own him. If that means he has to sell his time through Cubs for Rent to free himself from the ranch that already owns him, then so be it. He just wished Dex wasn’t so incredibly sexy. That seems a bit unfair.

When Dex makes Colt an offer he can’t refuse, their passionate personalities don’t disappear when Colt signs on the dotted line. But with the way they keep ending up in bed together, it is only a matter of time before someone breaks.

An enjoyable read ... I liked Colt & Dex but felt this was just a bit rushed. Went from zero to hero pretty quickly ! It’s a nice easy series, low angst and generally with a sweet HEA

This story was a whirlwind, swiping us on a crazy ride. A cinder-fella story with twists and turns and a whole lot of kinky.
A fun interesting read. Charity Parkerson threw a lot at this story, sometimes so overwhelming it took away from feelings. But that's what made Dex... Dex and Colt just hung on for the ride.

Colt and Dex just beautiful

I was interested in reading about Dex. This was a lovely story, everything happened really quickly but it is only a short story. I got early on what Dex had as it is my line of work. It was handled well but just quick. It was disappointing Colt lost his spirit and became dependent instead of being defiant like he was at the start. But the story overall was perfect, two people that needed to be loved. Really felt the love between these two. Nearly as believable as Tanner and Henry and Toby and Loyal (would love to say Jericho and Kevin but Kevin and Haven still confused me).

A great read

Dex is use to getting what he wants. The man has money. Colt is a hard working cowboy that can't be bought. Their world's collide and after the dust settles is there anything left? Total opposites in every way. A wonderful read and wonderful characters. These two really bring the best and worst out of any situation. Then there is Clint the jerk. Hopefully I will learn to like him. This book is a raw emotional read. Which I love.

Best one yet!

I LOVED Dex and Colts story. It was the best one in the series so far. They had such an interesting dynamic. Both needed someone to love them so much and they ended up being perfect for each other.

I have to say this one made me uncomfortable. Regardless of how it turned out, dex basically did buy Colt, as a whore or as a possession didn't matter to me. He bought him.

The BDSM came out of nowhere, as did the love. Colt hated Dex and suddenly didn't.

1st off, f*ck Clint! Paying for a relationship isn't a trope I usually am drawn to but I enjoyed this. Both Colt and Dex had their struggles, neither believing they would find love. It was sweet and possessive.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Love

How can you not love this series I think Clint and Dex are my favorite couple so far. It is such a Cinderella story.I don't think I can wait for Hudson's story.
