4++ stars. This is an outstanding expose on biblical illiteracy in America and its implications for all of us. Parts One and Three are particularly exceptional and 5-star quality. Dr Kroll clearly explains how biblical illiteracy has affected society at large and its institutions specifically. He covers the history of the Bible in America and points out where we began to deviate from its teachings. Written in 2000 and citing plenty of serious scholars (Bloom, Himmelfarb, and Sowell, to name a few), this is the prequel to Levine’s 2021 “American Marxism,” Aman’s “George Soros Exposed,” Rabe’s “The 6 Lies of Critical race theory,” Neibuhr’s Christ and Culture,” and MacArthur’s “Christ’s Call to Reform the Truth.” What Dr Kroll described in 2001 has metastasized throughout America in a myriad of forms, yet stemming from the same cause: a stepping away from the Bible. This is my second reading.
