Is this book extremely educational? Yes, albeit some sections were very descriptive and I felt like mostly common sense?
But if you choose to formula feed or are unable to breastfeed and thus need formula for your baby to survive, this book will literally make you feel like scum of the earth. Or like you didn’t try hard enough… really not a good message for hormonal PP women.
I definitely recommend this book to new parents. This is one of three baby’s first year books we purchased and this one is our favorite. My husband especially likes this book, because it presents information without any added fluff. It’s helpful to know the stance the American Academy of Pediatrics takes on various topics, and the size of this book makes it easy to carry and read on the go. I suggest looking over the table of contents to give you an idea of the information you can expect to find, a quick google should do it.
Very thorough! Lots of good info on milestones, illness, feeding, and sleeping. Tips and recommendations were a little intense sometimes, and not always realistic, but overall a great guide for the first year.
Informational and good for reference but some sections were repetitive or the same information was re-stated several ways. Needs a good thorough edit to condense repeat info.
