FAITHFUL?: How To Be A Righteous Leader In Unrighteous Times: A Commentary On John 16

Rate this book
In the face of persecution, apostasy, falling away, and faithlessness, what were the disciples to do? What are we to do? Our Lord Jesus Christ is hours away from going to the cross, and He is giving His final teaching to the disciples. In this verse by verse Commentary of John 16, we see that our Lord's teaching to the disciples is as much needed today as it was 2,000 years ago. In this book, we will look at the apostasy in the church, and hopefully answer some hard questions such as, Will we remain in faith when persecution comes? Will we face our men's and women's issues and be the spiritual leaders that our homes, our jobs, our churches, and our nation needs?Have I committed apostasy? What is apostasy in Christianity? What is apostasy in the church? What is the great apostasy or the great falling away from God in the last days? What is the definition of discipleship? What is the cost of discipleship? What are the discipleship essentials?Apostasy is a church issue of falling away from the faith and falling away from God. It is not necessarily a falling away from the things of God, or religion, such as a church building or denomination. Some will experience a falling away and a returning to Christ. After three and a half years, one would think the disciples would have had a deeper spiritual understanding of the things of God then they showed in this dialogue in John16. Jesus told them the definition of spiritual understanding and informed them that the Holy Spirit would come and teach them all things. He told them that when the Holy Spirit came, He would convict the world of sin, judgment, and righteousness. In this book, FAITHFUL, we cover the conviction of sin scriptures in great detail. Jesus addresses the sorrow of the disciples many times in John 16 and shares with them that they will soon face enormous persecution. However, their greatest battle lies within them, as they will fight the spiritual battles of the mind and in the mind with a sense of hopelessness. The temptation for us to quit the Christian faith will wage against us as the battle heats up on all sides. As men seek to stand as spiritual leaders and disciples in the ministry, their Christian living will face trials and tribulations, tempting them to fall back from the faith. This Christian nonfiction book is a verse by verse Bible study. Our Lord told the disciples He must leave, and before going, He would give them a tremendous promise. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come from the Father after He left. In this book, FAITHFUL, we cover the promise of the Holy Spirit verses, especially those verses listed in the Commentary of John 16. Jesus detailed the promise of the Holy Spirit in John 14, Acts 1, and John 16. Many see John 16 as one of our Lord's counseling sessions as He did his final farewell instructions. This dialogue makes John 16 one of the most critical chapters in the New Testament in understanding the role of our Lord on the cross and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus knew the issues with people then, and He knows the men's issues and women's issue of today, especially those in church leadership. It is time for the true disciples to rise in worship and devotion towards the Lord Jesus Christ as the disciples did in the Gospels and Acts. Our clergy and other church leadership need to know how to teach and do evangelism, even in a world filled with religious intolerance. We will find this book "FAITHFUL?" to be an inspirational Bible study provoking spiritual and professional growth. The Word of God never refers to us and our situation in the context of being victims. We are called Christian overcomers, and in the very definition of the word, "overcomers know how to overcome." As we experience spiritual growth and know how to do spiritual warfare in faith, may we, having done all else, stand and be declared FAITHFUL!
