What a beautiful devotional! Since there are 40 words in this book I chose to read it as a Lenten devotional. I started on Ash Wednesday and finished today on Palm Sunday. The art, the words and stories are all so personal and meaningful. I sent 12 copies to friends to use for Lent and hope they have derived as much as I have from the inspiration of Anne Neilson. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful and inspirational book with pretty art work of abstract angels. I read this book while undergoing a stem cell transplant for leukemia. I found it very comforting.

I discovered this lovely volume at a conference and instantly added it to my wish list. Anne's paintings are beautiful. There is one for each of her 40 devotionals, which range from topics like Identity to Hope, which was one of my favorites: "An anchoring faith.... won't hold your life back, but rather will provide the freedom to move hopefully from season to season without fear of casually drifting by your port of call" (p. 77). The one thing I greatly missed was space to journal a response each day. I like to record my thoughts. If you're looking for a devotional that you can write in, you might want something different.

5/5. Loved! Refreshing and stunning devotional that I thoroughly enjoyed. Anne’s messages were written with personality, and it’s inspiring to see art as an instrument of God’s glory. So thankful a friend gifted me this gorgeous book!

Creates perspective and accountability without making you feel guilty. It’s simple thoughts that have been especially helpful while in a pandemic to bring one closer to God and to loved ones.

I took this from a giveaway pile last summer when my husband’s grandmother passed away. It is a beautiful coffee table book and when I finally opened it I found equally beautiful words. I love Anne’s mentions of living Charlotte, raising 4 children, and other commonalities we share. She is humble and authentic in her living faith.

I used this book as my morning devotional and got the bonus of each devotion having one of Anne Neilson's paintings of an angel. I really enjoyed starting my mornings with the short but inspiring devotions that I thought about throughout my day. I'm thankful to a dear friend who gave this to me. Highly recommend!
