If you’ve been following the news you probably know most of what’s in here but it’s still nice enough to pass around to friends and family

This is a compendium of historical background, social and medical recommendations (including basic medical advices or how to prepare your pantry - focused to American low-quality nutrition I have to say), FAQs, interviews, etc. The format is good: from quick Twitter-like paragraphs to specific answer to questions and 2-page chapters for going quickly to your topic of interest.

However, It was was published soon after the pandemics declarations (mid-March 2020) so many of the answers are really outdated (and wrong) as the recommendations not to wear masks, or the conclusion that the risk for most Americans is very low.

Overall, it is a quick read and it may be useful to have a good summary of what happened from December 19 to March 20, mostly from an American perspective. Most of the medical/social recommendations are still valid. Some chapters of food, stock marker and economy etc are borderline. I particularly enjoyed the final interview, in which a Science writer narrates how he was able to predict the relevance of this disease when most people did not pay enough attention to it, and summarizes very well-taken, rational recommendations... despite the lack of information at that moment.

Be nice if they'd updated the book since its publication, because the advice on masks has changed. But still, it's a nice, organized walk through what was known about COVID-19 as of a few weeks ago.
