Great grammar book, very straight forward. Also the answer schemes are right after the chapter ends which makes correcting much easier (unlike many other grammar books where answer schemes are so hard to use with tiny font). This book had a good nice big font size too so was relatively easy to read and complete exercises in. The exercises themselves were very straight forward which was great. To me, this book stands out as a grammar book.

Note: it's definitely a book for grammar, for instance don't buy this book if you're looking to learn vocab, buy it cos it does beginner french grammar well. Recommend that you take your time with this book as it is quite dense content wise. For instance, your not gunna complete the book in a month if you are completely new to the grammar. Use it alongside other resources, such as youtube videos.

Organization of chapters was strange. Why are numbers and articles singular/plural nouns near the end? Those lessons are much easier than verb conjugation and would’ve helped a reader translate some of the examples better.

Also there were a LOT of typos.

Good book for an absolute beginner. I expected some more expressions and verbs relevant for daily life to learn. Not very comprehensive grammar book.

Short chapters, easy and helpful, audio component, & fun!

I took French for several years in school and have been wanting to freshen up on it and I'm really glad I tried this book out! The ebook format was really convenient for me. It's set up as 30 days, with a short 10-15 "ebook length" pages each. Short chapters were really easy for me to do, and the "days" motivated me to open it back up. There's also audio included to downloaded which was awesome for certain bits.

It has a great mix of clear and helpful explanations, m/c, fill in the blank, info tables, etc. The answers to the practice problems are at the end of each chapter/day which I found really convenient because it would have driven me crazy to have to flip to the back of the book for every answer lol. But most of all I liked that I enjoyed this book! It doesn't just teach the language, but includes interesting cultural info like how you should act in France (don't kiss people you don't know when greeting them lol). And every chapter includes a fun fact! It made the learning process really enjoyable for me!

Example Fun Fact: April Fools Day is believed to have originated in France, in 1564, when the country started following the Gregorian Calendar. Those that did not know about the change in the calendar were mocked as they continued to believe that the 1st of April was the first day of the French new year.

Did not Disappoint: Great for Beginners!

I was recently recommended the Spanish version of this book, just so I refresh myself, as I begin my MBA in Barcelona in the coming semester. It was definitely a good recommendation. I decided halfway through, that I would also brush up on my French as well, since I’ll be in Europe. Once again I was not disappointed. The lessons are very comprehensive and makes learning easy. I love the exercises as well as they help to solidify what I just learned. This workbook is definitely great for beginners and for those who need a touch up. Once again I 10/10 recommend.
