Unable to join the fight against the Spiders, the children of the Dome have been hitting the books instead! Now Bold Bolt's smallest members have worked out a strategy for tackling their greatest enemy. Face-to-face with the Lord for the first time, the task has never seemed more impossible, but with the kids' plan in place, there is real hope for victory! But when truth dawns with the rising sun, Bold Bolt's familial bonds will be tested like never before...
Wouldn't say this is as good as previous volumes, but there were quite a few things I loved:
1. Udou's motivations and the big reveal of the Lord made sense and handled well.
2. Going off of that, most of the gang wanting to preserve Kukuri's life despite learning what she's done was emotional and, once again, made sense in the context of the setting and current situation. This is a dystopian world where people die left and right and it's hard to find a "family" that loves you. No, preserving her life was not the rational thing to do, but it made narrative and emotional sense and I am down for it.
3. The kids taking charge of the mission and lashing out at the adults. A not-so-friendly PSA on how constantly being sheltered and babied, even if they're children, can negatively affect said children if their lives are constantly being spared over the adults. Children have thoughts and feelings, folks, you can't just disregard them cuz they come from children.
4. That ending. Ohhh boy, that ending. What's going to be revealed in the next volume?? I'm so anxious to know!
Those are my thoughts regarding this volume. Again, not my favorite in the series, but a solid end to an intriguing arc.
