I just read two other standards based learning books that were each mediocre. But this one was pretty good! A simple text that says what it means without fluff, and is like 50% examples. Plus appendixes full of examples too— they were refreshingly unstingy with real life examples from schools actually using this system. I flew through this and learned a lot.
