For one week, four of us was to live together. Play nice to each other like we used to when we were kids.
Seb, Thomas, Ashford and me.
Three of Mr. Keystone's sons and me, the maid's daughter.
All those years, the three sons bullied and ridiculed me because I was the maid's daughter.
So, why was I back? Why did I cared to be in the same house as those three tormentors?
Because I was in Mr. Keystone's will.
He had always been kind to me, even if his sons weren't, so I could only honor his wishes. And he was like a father to me, and didn't treat me like the maid's daughter. But as soon as I could, I left to go to college. Two years ago. Meanwhile, the boys went their separate ways, too. Estranged from each other.
So why was I here having to live in the same house with his sons for a week?
I don't know, but I'm about to find out, even if it meant my old adolescent feelings for all three of them might surface again. And if being in the mansion we called a house together might jog some memories of the wild nights we've had here.
It's just one week. I could survive that. Or could I?
**House is the first book in The House Series, which is a Reverse Harem Dark College Romance recommended for age 18+ due to mature themes.
Hi, I'm Rachel Angel, USA Today Bestselling author of the Kingmakers of Kingsbury Series, Bad Boy Royals of Kingsbury Prep Series, Cruel Princes of Wyvern All-Boys Academy, Fallen Fae Academy Series, HOUSE Series, Heartbreak Falls Series, and the BBBBC (Bad Boys Billionaire Bachelors Club) Series and some upcoming books in the New Adult Contemporary genre. I love reading and writing books with bad boys and the strong women who challenge them!
I guess saying I read it might be pushing it... I forgave the grammatical issues in the write up... but when the first page of the prologue has the following paragraph "In those two years since I left, he didn't try to contact me after I left either, nor did I tried getting in touch with him." I literally can't continue.
*Spoiler Alert* The death of Kaley's (FMC) mothers former employer Mr Keystone brings her back to Keystone Manor to the reading of his will. Which puts her back in the same place as her bullies & Mr Keystone sons - Seb, Thomas & Ash except that they have their own agenda with her. One of which is using sex to manipulate her. As well as this story theres a back one about murder or suicide. If it involves anyone living in that manor. Kaley certainly works quickly (not that i blame her) by individually getting seduced by the three brothers as well as getting steamy with policeman Sutton. Cant wait to see where the next book goes. A pretty good read though even if it felt like a short book
I totally enjoyed this book it's the start of a new series that's going to get really good and I can see it being really Hot and steamy. We get to meet Kaley and the Keystone men that used to be her lovers for it to turn nasty. Without saying too much and give the book away its definitely worth a read and I can see it getting explosive so you need to pick up a copy
I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review
This was a fantastic start to a new series, by Rachel Angel ♥️ Such a delicious push and pull between Kaley, Seb, Thomas and Ash 🔥🔥🔥 I love these characters and thought they had great chemistry!! This book was addictive and you definitely didn’t want to turn away for a second 🤗
Mr Keystone, who is extremely wealthy, has always adored Kaley, the maid’s daughter. His three sons, Seb, Thomas and Ash always bullied Kaley. She left and never looked back. Now, Mr Keystone has passed away and left Kaley in his will. The requirement is she has to live in a house, with his sons, for one week. The prize is $500. They have to be good to each other. Will they be able to stand it.....and each other??
Started off ok and was Interesting then it jumped from chapter to chapter didn’t make much sense it’s as if the author forgot to write the missing bits or complete skipped bits and it was wishy washy as if half the book was missing and all a bit of muddle not very good won’t be reading the rest as this just baffled me
DNF! Horrible writing. Errors on the very first page, this book is riddled with them and parts don’t make any sense. Not sure how it’s getting any good reviews but don’t bother wasting your time.
Seb, Thomas, and Ash once loved Kaley, the maids daughter. The brothers all loved and shared the same girl until one day a video was discovered of who they suspected was Kaley and their dad together. They then decided the roles changed. No one had seen each other in 2 years until Mr. Keystone passed away and they were all forced together for the reading of the will. Being forced together will it bring back old feelings or will the hatred only grow.
In Home we have the story of the Keystone boys and their love interest Kaley. Well they used to be in love. Back before betrayal was had. She upped and left leaving Sebastian, Ash and Thomas with hatred. But when their father dies two years later, they are reunited for the reading of the will. One thing is clear though, her body's reaction to the guys and their's to her. Their chemistry is still there, but so is the hatred.
Wow, this was a real quick read for me. House is fast paced, which is where there is not a lot of description, everything just kind of jumps in there. Judging from the length of the series that is on purpose. One thing is clear though in what we get from the first installment is that Kaley is hated by the guys because of something that they think she did two years ago that involved their mother. They have unstoppable chemistry even through their hatred. Since this is pretty much introducing the characters we do not really get into the meat of the story yet, but we do get some glimpses. There is a mild cliffhanger that will lead into book two. There is a lot of heat in this story, they do get down to business rather quickly. This series seems like it will have a lot of angst, sex and mystery.
Book 1 of The House is a very fast-paced short read that acts as an introduction to the rest of the series as we learn about the history between our heroine - Kaley - and the Keystone boys - Seb, Thomas, and Ash - and the cause of the rift that divided Kaley from the boys. I was pleasantly surprised when the author added in a fourth (maybe?) love interest to compete against the Keystone boys for Kaley's attention. I'm very excited to see what will happen next, as when it looks like the boys got a one-up on Kaley, she reveals that maybe they didn't. Book 1 is more of an introduction and sets up for the coming plot that I'm hoping will happen in Book 2.
OMG, I could not put this book down until the very last page was read. From the moment that I started on this book, I was hooked. It moves along at a great pace being neither too fast nor too slow, but the most comfortable pace for reading. You will fall in love with these characters. You feel as though you know each of them personally and have a vested interest in their daily lives. Once you start reading you will find yourself unable to put this book down and when you do it is only because you have finished and now need Book 2. This book needs to be read, you will not be sorry.
What a great start to a new series! This page turner hooked me in and wouldn’t let me stop until I had devoured the whole book. Kaley is summoned back to Keystone manor by Mr. Keystones lawyer for the reading of his will. She really doesn’t want to go back and see Seb, Thomas, and Ash but she is intrigued as to why she would be in his will. I can’t wait for the next book to see if they get to the reading of the will and what she gets as well as how he died! Also what happened to end there relationship originally? You won’t regret reading this one today!
This is a great start to a new series by Rachel and it is amazing. You have Kaley, Sebastion, Ash and Thomas who knew each other until something happen and she leaves. Only to come back due to unforeseen circumstances. This book is the first in the series and it sets the story well. It leaves you with a mystery and is fast pace. However, we need to find out what happened in the past will stay there. So what will happen? it is a quick read, fast burn and totally worth the read. I hope the wait will not be long on.
Wow rachel has done it again. She has sucked me in again. I couldnt put this down. There is so much suspense happening here. I'm loving kaley she dont let these rich boys get away with their bs. I dont know what the keystone boys are up to but I cant wait to find out. I honestly dont like all 3 of the keystone boys but I am loving mr. Officer sutton. This is a short book. I cant wait for book 2. I need to know more of their backstories and what those darn keystone boys are up too.
Talk about coming in HOTT!!! This book has me salivating at the mouth. I need to know what happened NOW! I need book 2. There are so many lies and secrets with twists and turns and I am dying to know who is telling the truth. Just when I think I know whats going to happen next I get completely blindsided. Kaley, Seb, Thomas and Ash certainly kept me on my toes and I'm anxiously waiting for more to come!!
House is a nice little quick read which lures you in with little tidbits of past events and the promise of there's more to come. I can tell this will be a series that I'll binge read until I've read them all which is good because I'm curious to learn more about the characters and how the plot will play out.
Im also definitely interested in seeing how the main guys repair their relationship with kaley.
What a great book one I really loved Kaley the maids daughter who was bullied by the boys when younger but was treated good by their father. when she could she left and now shes back having to share Mr Keystones house with his sons Seb, Ash and Thomas for a week because of his will. such great characters and such a great book
Fanfreakingtastic new series starter! I love the whole mystery vibe and how the FMC has to look past her history with the boys to follow her heart and honor their father's last wishes. It has the trademark steam and naughtiness we love from the author, as well as a fun 'who done it' feel. I look forward to book 2!
This was my first time reading a book by thIs author and she definitely didn’t disappoint!! It’s sooo good and I can’t wait to read book 2!!! I felt like I was in the book the whole time with the characters instead of just being the reader. Definitely keeps you on your toes!
Great start to a new series. This book had me hooked from the start and finishing it in one reading I enjoyed it that much. I can't wait to see what happens next. This author truely has a creative mind and it blows me away with every book I read how she comes up with more and more stories.
This was a really good book that I couldn't put down once I started. The author did a great job of keeping you hooked and needing to know what's going on and just needing more. Liked the characters quite a bit. Cant wait for the next book to find out what's going happen.
I loved book 1 of this series! The mystery is fun to follow and the characters are hot!!! There are great steamy scenes and lots of POV’s to really get to know everyone! I loved it and can’t wait to read the next!!!
- not a college romance, the setting is a mansion; dark? depends what you consider dark, but personally, I wouldn’t categorize it as dark romance. murky grey at best. not an enemies to lovers either. - the synopsis is half-true. it mentions FMC having to live with MMCs for a week in the house, but that isn’t brought up in this book because (spoiler)the lawyer is kidnapped as he reaches the house lmao(spoilers) - it reads like a draft rather than a finished book. there are typos and weird wording that makes you blink twice, or thrice. a quick search tells me this was published through a publisher, so i’m assuming there was an editor involved in the process. i can only feel sorry for the author since they were done dirty. - the plot isn’t there, and the sprinkle of it that exists is messy and tries to be mysterious, but is flat. no build-up whatsoever - the three guys (MMCs) are nothing special, they fit in the typical stereotypes. FMC is…odd in a ‘grating on the nerves’ way—one second she’s having attempts at being this “look at me stand my ground,” in the next, she’s folding like paper. also one of the guys, punches a hole in the wall on page 6 or so (“I punched the wall near my bed, making a hole in it as an emphasis.”—his words). makes you wonder if he lives in a cardboard house, or if maybe, the guy has inhumane strength because boy here doesn’t even flinch, or wince, after. - the relationship between the four characters is a catastrophe, as in MMCs hate for “cheating” on them with their dad, and she kinda hates them for not believing her sort of thing. BUT, when FMC returns to the house, there’s 3 snarky sentences exchange and on the 4th sentence, sex time!!
Do I recommend this? No.
Is the smut smutting? No.
I’ve read smut without plot before and even those scenes had a little bit of anticipation building. None of that here.
Best example from the first smut scene: FMC walks in the house, and one of the guys is there. They banter for three sentences, then she’s being fingered on sentence 4. Orgasms on sentence 6 or 7. Done. Bye.
With MMC 2? Same thing, but different sex act. MMC 3? Same as 1 and 2.
You’re also hit with “sexy” descriptions such as “his eyes staring at my pussy like it was the juiciest delicious steak”. And dialogue like “You’ve tamed the wild beasts out of us.”
While I like the idea of this series, I personally don't really like how short the first book is. Also, it seems to end rather abruptly with the MFC knowing the will had been switched out, but nothing connecting how she would know this. I'm just a bit confused at the end of book 1. While I realize everyone has different writing styles this book seemed to read somewhat awkwardly. I'll continue the series though since I like the idea of the story.
No. No. This was just awful. What the fuck did I just read? Tons of grammatical errors, no real plot. I finished it because of the stupidity of it. It’s like watching train wreck happen and you just can’t look away. Even the ages didn’t make since. Like the mother was barely 18 but then having a 50th birthday when her son was 23. She would only be 41, like basic math, come on. This was a disaster of a short story if that’s what you even call this.
This book was very fast paced and at times seemed a little uncoordinated. The storyline is there, but I can’t explain why the flow left me confused. I see that there are six books in the series so I’m hoping as I continue reading the books they storylines will tie together and make a little more sense.
