Thank you to the author Shannon Greenland for an eARC in exchange for review. All opinions are my own, as usual.

The Gator in a Tux is a great continuation in Penny-Ann's mystery adventure. The stolen taxidermy animals case is a perfect crime for middle graders to read about, it allows for more focus on the main themes instead of a dark mystery. The Piper Investigations series teaches middle grade readers about the importance of friendship. In this installment, Penny-Ann is learning about how fri

What an exciting new read! I loved book two in the Piper Investigations series. Penny-Ann Piper continues to be an endearing character. I love her new-found and growing friendships with Diamond and Rocco. Her skills as a PI are fun to watch and have great persistence and ambition. Watching her "solve crime" is a fun pastime, and I've enjoyed it immensely.

Penny-Ann's humor, sass, and tenacious attitude help give her a multifaceted personality. She's fun to read, easy to picture, and engaging. Th

Note: I received a free ARC from the author and Hidden Gems in exchange for a fair and honest review of this novel. All opinions are my own and have not been coerced from me. I received no seeds from China either.

This book is the perfect introduction to mystery amateur detective novels, which makes it that much more important to read if you're considering this title. At the beginning of this story, someone in town is leaving taxidermy critters around as pranks. While it seems funny, it causes on

🔎Action-packed adventure with teen detectives🔍

There's so much action in this story that I can see why a tween or young teen might fight it a fun read. Penny-Ann and her crew Diamond and Rocco spend their summer chasing up the culprit who's playing practical jokes and causing mayhem with posed taxidermied animals. The more they search, the more convoluted the antics become. These kids are resourceful, largely left on their own, and zip all over their barrier island after suspects and clues. The a

Our teen sleuth is on the job again, trying to solve another mystery is her home town. But has she bitten off more than she can chew this time?

This is book two in the series, but it is written as a standalone. All the essentials are presented early on.

This is a cozy mystery with a teen sleuth at the helm. The story is well written, easy to read and just plain fun. With a well developed setting and a heroine that is all sass and gumption, the story just flows. I loved watching her puzzle through

Watch out for penny-Ann!

Penny-Ann Piper, through various events, had to move to her grandparents home. Penny-Ann becomes involved in a mystery. She is not sure she can trust her new friend and are the twins fixated on their muscles involved? Is the missing time capsule just a prank? Read this delightful mystery that may reveal more the Penny-Ann is willing to reveal about herself. Read tis delightful mystery book to be enjoyed by the young and the old. I look forward to reading more by this auth

This series seems to get better and better, with great twists. This book could be read alone, but it's also a great follow up.
I liked the different tests of friendship, which is an important topic for middle graders. This is an easy yet grabbing read-hard to put down and makes you want to continue without stopping. I can't wait for the final installment!

I enjoyed this story just as much as the first one. Pepper-Ann and her friends, Diamond and Rocco, are curious and enjoy a good adventure. Their latest adventure is trying to find out who stole Dr. Alva's taxidermy animals. As they are investigating, their friendship continues to grow.
