Whether you’re an amateur athlete who uses walking or cycling for exercise or are a professional training for the Olympics, this book has helpful information about how to handle injuries for every major joint in the body. What I love most about this book is that it explains how the joint works, what injuries are likely to happen with that joint, and how to tell whether you need to see a doctor or can use exercise and rest to help the joint heal. I found the section on tennis elbow and golfers elbow to be particularly helpful. I like to scan books, and that generally means pressing down to hold a book flat so it’s scans properly. I have found that among my friends who scan books and I, golfers elbow is very common. This book has an excellent section of exercises designed to strengthen the elbow and to help realign things in that narrow bony path where tendons, muscle, and bone intersect. I have found the sections on shoulders, hips, and knees to be very helpful as well. I have been doing some of the exercises in each chapter, and I have noticed considerable improvement, especially with range of motion.
