An effective way to improve and strengthen your mind. Train the verbalization of thought and emotion by "note writing." By putting in the effort, it is possible in just a couple of weeks to speed up the process. The author, who was at McKinsey for 14 years, has been updating and improving his method for over 20 years so that anyone, anywhere with little expenditure can excel at the best “zero second thinking” there has ever been.
To be honest, I think this book should be listed as a must-read for all consultants. It has clearly provided a much hands-on solution to most of the issue people will run into in daily work routines. Maybe it hasn´t got that much review till now since it resembles too much of the project process: Strawman-Blanks-Drafts. And of course the notes taking technique on a horizontally placed A4 papers sounds just like how we do case interview preparation.
Yet one thing I like about this approach is that it introduces (and without deliberately mentioning) the deliberate practise aspect. This makes it quite powerful. For everyone who would like to test/ improve their thought process, speed and clarity, it is quite easy to implement and fairly efficient.
All in all, this book talks about just one idea yet it has a stellar idea. Have a go of the book and the method. As the named suggested, both the reading and the practising will practically take "zero" seconds.
Yuji Akaba offers exactly what I am looking for: a method to think effectively and write productively. This is his second book I have read. The first is effective reading skills. The “Zero Second Thinking” method was practiced while reading the book. Effectiveness and efficiency are confirmed. The book is highly recommended.
“Zero Second Thinking” simply entails writing down, one after another, whatever floats into your mind. Write these notes in a notebook or on a computer, but simply use one piece of Letter paper per thought. Rather than leisurely spending time on each, quickly finish one page in within one minute. Write 10 pages every day then instantly organize them by throwing them into one of several folders. Just by doing this, you can train the most fundamental ability to think, something which is not adequately taught. You will not only be able to think deeply, but will also approach the ultimate level of “Zero Second Thinking.” You will become the master of your mind; stress and anxiety will fall away. You’ll begin living with eyes on your own bright future. Moreover, it costs almost no money, and in just three weeks time you can expect to feel considerable results. https://vebimo.wordpress.com/2021/05/...
