About the author

Elvira Bell

Elvira Bell lives in Sweden and spends most of her time writing, reading or watching movies. Her weaknesses include, but are not limited to: vintage jazz, musicals, kittens, oversized tea cups, men in suits, the 18th century, and anything sparkly.

Elvira writes m/m romance and has a penchant for historical settings. She adores all things gothic and will put her characters through hell from time to time because she just loves watching them suffer. It makes the happy endings so much sweeter, after all.

The first book in the trilogy was definitely the attention-grabber but I enjoyed all three books in different ways and I was very glad (and relieved) to get to Nick’s HEA in this final book.

Nick and Christopher finally get back together in this last installment of the Wavesongs trilogy. Christopher is dead set on settling scores with those who had wronged him. Nick is his voice of reason through it all. This book takes place mostly down in the Caribbean. Their overall goal is to finally settle down together on Chris' old ship but Chris can't settle down into his new life until he makes certain everyone who did him wrong pays for what they did. We follow him as he settles his scores and he and Nick reconnect with each other. They also have to come to terms with what Tom did to Nick while they were together. Chris made it clear to Nick that he was raped and because of that Nick has some trauma to deal with. Chris, being the super sweet guy he is and loving Nick the way he does is very understanding and helps Nick through it. They both work together to help each other, Chris with making sure those who deserve their comeuppance get it and Nick to find his peace. Chris gets his ship and they have their well-deserved happily ever after. It's a satisfying end to a lot of action and hardship.

I loved the whole trilogy. It was well-written with excellent world building and great character development. If you enjoy sea stories with lots of action, some angst, and rowdy pirates, this one will satisfy you.

I tried. I really did. And I hate leaving bad reviews, but I just couldn't get into this book. The writing style seemed juvenile and choppy. The story was written in present tense which made it feel almost awkward to read. I really did give it a chance but it just never grabbed me.
