The purpose of this book is to provide in one volume the background information that should be fundamental part of the knowledge of every surgeon who treats the foot and leg. The book is divided into three sections. Section I covers fundamentals and surgical anatomy of the foot;surgically applicable biomechanics; radiology, surgical principles, sutures, wound closure, anesthesia, etc. Section II includes nine chapters and is devoted entirely to surgical patients with special medical considerations. Section III deals with limb salvage and prosthetics of the lower extremity.
