Rate this book
This workbook is an inexpensive way to get teenagers reading the Bible. This book started with “how do we encourage teenagers to read the Bible?” It is called Bible Verses for Our Worksheets with “fill in the b______” By filling in the blank, perhaps the reader will give more attention to some of the words in the verse.I’m a test prep tutor and a member of Christian Tutors of America. As a Christian tutor, I teach academic subjects with methods inspired by the Word. You can learn more about CTA at the end of the book. The VersesThe verses from the Bible that appear here were selected to inspire teenagers and others to follow the advice of the Gospel of peace. Several versions are used, including the New King James version and the Amplified Bible. You are encouraged to visit websites that offer other translations or versions to gain deeper understanding of each verse. Biblegateway.com was used for many of the verses in this edition. This collection was selected to (1) encourage readers to read the Bible, then (2) select verses to memorize. We can carry the words of His Word in our hearts and minds. When we are waiting at a traffic light,While we lie on our beds before we fall asleep, When we find two minutes (perhaps while standing in line at a supermarket), we can recite silently what we remember from these verses.I often get the order mixed up, but I usually find at least five of the six things to think true, lovely, pure, honest, just, … from the fourth chapter of Philippians. The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us to carry “unselfish concern for each other” (this is the phrase used in the Amplified Bible for love and charity). The verse includes serenity, patience, kind, thoughtful, wrongs endured, bear, hope for, believe and endure all things, not rude or self-serving, not boastful, not jealous or envious, and love does not fail, fade or end. The items are out of order, but I have some of the many points in my head (and I feel them more in my heart with each time I recite and recall these words). Many of the words from Paul’s list was recited from memory by a neurologist in Florida (who was talking to a teenager about the importance of reading the Bible and learning about caring about other people). I witnessed Dr. Waden Emery's performance and a small voice told me, “Each of us can carry these words inside us. We just need to read them more often.”Let us encourage each other to carry these words on our lips.
