‘Quite a lot. Seems to me you’ve grown up in a very short time.’

‘Are you surprised?’ she said softly, smiling happily against his mouth. ‘One night with you is enough to make anyone grow up. My initiation ceremony was spectacular. I can’t recommend it enough.’

There's some sexy, interesting banter in this novel, but I found the storyline to be a tad bit long-winded. It's not an unenjoyable novel, but there were a few boring stretches of narrative.

I didn't enjoy reading all the descriptive minutae that pertained to the heroine's party planning duties and other background details. The most interesting part of the story, was the whole brother's best friend trope that's parlayed into a forbidden romance.

The MC's relationship was sweet and it's obvious that both cared a lot for each other, but the heroine was the more aggressive one in the relationship. I know it seems old fashioned, but I prefer it when it's the guy who does the actual *chasing*. But they're both amiable MC's and there's not any toxic relationship angst in the storyline.

After their first sexual encounter, she was the one who basically threw herself at him, the second time they made love. He cared about her a lot, but he would've just left her alone and gone about his business, if she'd not literally barged into his bedroom:

In the ghostly light her shoulders lifted and fell again. ‘Ridiculous or not, I’m not going anywhere.’

‘Until I eject you by force?’

‘That’s up to you.’

‘This is wrong, Stacey. What happened between us in Barcelona was a mistake—’

‘A mistake?’ she interrupted in a voice full of raw wounds from the past. ‘Is that what you think of me?’

‘No,’ he bit out. ‘It’s just that you don’t belong here. I don’t have anything to offer you, other than in a business sense, so please don’t make this harder than it has to be.’

It was written in a light-hearted manner, but it still didn't alter the fact that she entered his bedroom uninvited and proceeded to crawl all over him while using verbal persuasion to make him give into her...

Anyway, I don't want to bitch about the book too much, because it's a nice enough novel. It just wasn't as entertaining as Susan Stephens' previous book. It's just my opinion, but I think parts of the story could've been omitted - the expository portions that were very dry and flat.

The epilogue's OK, because it ends with their wedding and the heroine's a pregnant bride.

Basically, this month's HPlandia offerings have been generally disappointing. I've only really enjoyed the novels by Lynne Graham and Carol Marinelli.

Safety: No OW, no OM and no cheating. This is not a second chance romance, even though the MC's had known each other for more than a decade. They'd never been romantically involved until the start of the story. The H seemed to have had a playboy reputation in the past, but I don't think he had been a manwhore. The heroine's a virgin, without a hymen - if you read the book, you'll understand.

Disappointing. This romance had so much potential but sadly the writing was lacking. Choppy and lacking emotion and depth. It was monotone and flat. I felt like one minute I was in one scene and the next sentence somewhere different or a paragraph disappeared and I was thrown into another story line.

My friend Carmen has a in-depth review that says it best. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The premise of the story was good and with better writing could have been a very good read.

Falling for your best friend’s sister Stacey is not what Lucas DaSilva was planning when she became the event planner for his company’s events, but there had always been a pull between him and Stacey back when he spent so much time at her families horse farm and with Stacey now a beautiful and very strong woman his heart had other ideas.

Stacey has worked hard to get to where she is today and making this event a success for her brother’s friend Lucas was a must for her future. But being around Lucas, Stacey’s heart and emotions soon took over and being with Lucas was what she wanted and was not going to be swayed and one night would never be enough, especially when they get snowed in.

Lucas has been carrying guilt for many years and therefore making his company bigger and moving around was what he planned no love and marriage well at the moment anyway, but when his old friend Stacey is working for him he finds it hard to ignore her especially the way she pushes him, she should be off limits but the chemistry and attraction could melt the snow they stranded in.

Love happens whether they want it or not and seeing Lucas finally open up to what had happened in his past and Stacey being there for him is just what they need, I did very much enjoy this story and wow the setting is just beautiful and the ending so filled with happiness and joy, if you enjoy a sensual story then this is one that I would highly recommend.

Snowbound with His Forbidden Innocent by Susan Stephens is a passionate romance for a couple who take advantage of fate to explore their feelings for each other.

When Stacey Winner takes over organizing a party for wealthy businessman Lucas Da Silva, she knows it will be both exciting and a bit nerve wracking to see him again, even though she’s confident she can make his party a success. Lucas is a friend of her brother Niahl, someone she had a crush on until he bought her favorite horse from her father. That was the last straw for her with her cold and distant father and she left home to make her own way, becoming a successful event planner. Though she no longer blames Lucas for the loss of her horse, it’s been some years since they’ve seen each other and she’s not the young girl she once was.

Now that Stacey is all grown up, Lucas can’t deny the fierce attraction he feels for her. Their chemistry culminates in a heated and passionate night together after the successful party. Though Lucas knows he is too emotionally damaged from the early death of his parents to offer Stacey any kind of commitment, their next event together gets them snowbound at his chalet, with another chance to explore their feelings for each other. Will they admit that what they have could be the start of a real future together?

My favorite part of this story is the beautiful mountain resort setting. ‘Trapped in a snowstorm’ and ‘best friend’s sibling’ are two popular tropes and the author uses them well to tell Lucas and Stacey’s story. I appreciated that Stacey’s brother Niahl wasn’t an overbearing older brother and trusted Stacey to know her own mind.

I found that there were some boring parts, excessive descriptions and dialogue that didn’t always add to the story. Plus, for some events that take place over just a few days, the characters jump to conclusions about things really quickly and make hasty decisions that could be avoided with some honest conversations. I liked Stacey’s strong character and her willingness to take charge of her own life. Eventually they get their happy ending with a sweet though stereotypical epilogue. Fans of wintry romances with these popular tropes may enjoy this one.

Stacey and Lucas Da Silva have a past that she would like to forget about. He is a friend of her brother Nial but what she remembers most if he bought her favorite horse. Years later she becomes and event planner and she does a large event for Lucas. Lucas sees a grown up Stacey and when she sees him the chemistry is hard to deny. He has a passionate night with her and when she does his next event they are snowbound together. Ms. Stephens writes a lovely story of past meeting future and the romance that brews between them. Lovely setting and a wonderful HEA.

Stacey knows tycoon Lucas Da Silva from their childhood, she was the annoying little sister of his best friend and their paths cross again many years later in a professional capacity, only this time she's running the show instead of ruining it.

Snowbound with Stacey forces them to look at what has not been talked about, in more ways than one and it creates a lovely wintery story which flows from the first to the last page.

Emotionally absorbing, dynamically high voltage with characters that sparked, I really enjoyed Susan's latest story.

When Stacy Winner organizes a party for Lucas Da Silva she tries to prove to him, and to herself, that she is not just the little sister of his friend Nial that she's had a crush on for forever. They find themselves snowbound at his Chalet and their chemistry is through the roof. I loved reading "Snowbound with His Forbidden Innocent" by Susan Stephens.

I have wrestled myself through the first couple of chapters of this book and I came here because I wanted to know if the book gets better.

I’m sorry but the first three chapters are all about how rich and powerful he is and other bla bla.

That h is some kind of virgin but she is so overly agressive in bed that she scares me. I’m old fashioned, I want the man to pursue the woman.

The writing style is so off. Vintage writers like Charlotte Lamb know how to describe power and chemistry without spelling it for you.

I’ll stop reading, I think. The h is embarrassing with the way she chases the H. And the writing is bland.

Are there any good modern HP writers? In the style of Charlotte Lamb or Patricia Wilson?

I can't believe Harlequin published this. I'm very disappointed. This book is so bad I quit reading it and I hate to leave a book unread. The book is all over the place and scenes seem to be missing. Wish I had my money back, that's how bad this is.

DNF at end of chapter 4

B O R I N G

Writing choppy & wordy & slow

In a Harlequin Presents, I want to care about someone or something this far into book, and I could not care less about either main character.

Hope horses are all ok tho

Just boring. Slow. Disconnected. Not a fun read at all. Or romantic. Leaves a lot out.

The H himself thinks he leads a charmed life, always gets what he wants and that h is a Novelty (paraphrased but really weird that any guy will contemplate his own life and term it as charmed) The H throws money at h for buying her favorite horse instead of consoling her tears and h's brother/H's best friend is only in H's thoughts but never puts in an appearance in h's life to smooth it. Despite having a brother who supposedly loves her, she is making her own way in life with no support or consolation. Her life would be better for staying away from a egotistical and entitled H. As usual in a M&B/Harlequin book - the inevitable are you a virgin question is popped but the H has to be insensitive about it so after a one night stand he does the cold shoulder followed by an inevitable pregnancy! Seriously every H is a douche bag who ends up with virginal 'h's who are never motivated by money or anything practical except for love which is something to do with heart which is a pump and never about any hormones in your brain. Of course the HP landia has more kids than India and China together. The story continues with the H continuously testing h and take her for granted in every chapter and the h remains oblivious to his self centeredness!

SNOWBOUND WITH HIS FORBIDDEN INNOCENT by Susan Stephens is a bit of a forbidden romance story mixed with a best friend's little sister twist. It's fast paced and easy to follow. I felt there were a few holes in the plot ... mainly the lack of her brother in the story as well as the siblings Lucas supposedly sacrificed so much for being barely mentioned, but overall an enjoyable read.

Stacey has spent her youth being less-than in people's eyes, so now that she's all grown up and on her own, she's setting the world on fire with her job at Party Planners. She only hopes she can do it justice when faced with the man she has had a crush on for years as a client!

Lucas demands perfection, and realizing that the woman he still remembers as a clumsy teenager from his times spent at his best friend's house is going to be in charge of his company's biggest event of the year makes him a little uneasy. Seeing the woman she's turned into however, gets his mind on something else!

I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a crush turns to love story.

SNOWBOUND WITH HIS FORBIDDEN INNOCENT by author Susan Stephens is a December release by Harlequin Presents series.

Stacey was attracted to her brother’s best friend, Lucas since for ever. But she won’t ever act on it. She worked hard to reach where she was in her career and she won’t jeopardise her career for hot attraction!

But nature had a way. And she was stuck in a snowstorm with Lucas in his beautiful mountain chalet. Would she take the step now to act on her attraction? And what would Lucas do now?

SNOWBOUND WITH HIS FORBIDDEN INNOCENT is an emotional romance with all the feels. Author Susan Stephens once again wove this tale with witty dialogue. This story was emotional and sexy. Heart-warming and beautiful. As a reader you would be glued to the pages till the end.

Highly recommended to all readers of romance.

There was a baby reveal that popped up out of nowhere, bit of an angsty second chance backstory, a rushed marriage, and poor writing, plot development and characterisation. Easy to read and did have a happy ending, even though the writing was dull and seemed like there was no chemistry between the main two characters
