Where She Was Loved

Rate this book
Ashley: I lived a nomadic existence, though I had no other choice. The only place he would return us to every year like clockwork was Ligonier, PA. That was where I met the one man who made me long for more.

But I couldn't keep him.

I promised myself that one day I would make it back to the only place I had ever felt loved. I just didn't know the secrets and lies I would be returning to.

Eric: She changed me, made me want to be a better man. I would have done anything for her, but she disappeared without even saying goodbye. I should have protected her, while I had her. My mind told me to move on, but my heart refused to go along with the idea.

If one day I got her back, I hoped she knew she would always be loved.

Some books just grab you from the first page and refuse to let you go. This is one of those.

Heart-wrenching …. YES
Tissues Needed …. Double YES
Mournful …. YES
Hopeful …. Eventually
Relatable Characters …. YES and Yes, Yes, Yes
Well Written …. Absolutely
Preachy … Not At All
HEA: YES, but it sure wasn’t easy

OBSERVATIONS:

... Loved the ending It's a true end, not all of a sudden things are great and they live happily ever after. We actually get to walk with Ashley and Eric on that road to their HEA. Page after page, we get to feel the hurt, the pain, the growth, as well as the love and healing... all the way to the last page.

... All of the book’s characters have a purpose. You just don’t know it until things happen.

☠️The Heathens???? You’ll think you know their role… but not so fast. Just wait. I didn’t see that one coming.

😍Sharon: that one didn’t fool me.

💕Ava: beautiful person … loving and loyal, sometimes to a fault

😘Meg and Aiden: couldn’t ask for better friends.

🤔 Alec: Tough on the outside but tender on the inside

❣️Eric: All women want an Eric.

💔Ashley: Strong doesn’t begin to describe her. What would have done most people in, only made her strong, kind, loving and brave

👺Liam: the quote below will speak for itself…
“ I would just have to accept that some people were clothed with evil. My father had a soul so black, it never saw the light and not one ounce of goodness from anything or anyone could ever penetrate the hardened casing surrounding him.”

Ashley and Eric first met when she and her father were living a nomadic lifestyle moving from place to place. Ashley’s father was a piece of work he was an alcoholic and also abusive. Eric and Ashley were soulmates but she has to leave him without a word. She made one promise to herself that she would go back to that little town in Pennsylvania where she felt loved by Eric.

After returning to Pennsylvania and no Ashley Eric Gabe up went back home and joined an MC every woman that looked like his lost love he chased. Pretty much chasing a ghost will these lovers find their way back to each other

This story is one of the most moving stories I have ever read. They fell in love young and never forgot one another. This is possibly what true love looks like.

Ashley longs to return to Ligonier but her father doesn't have them return there. Circumstances will have Ashley return to her beloved summer home but the truth she finds could destroy her. Although she learns just how lived she is.

What a story! This is the first book by this author that I have read a well written story with a very good storyline, it almost feels like you are there watching it happen. Ashley and Eric's story is one that once you start reading you will not be putting it down. That was some Father she had. These two will have so much to get through, but there trust in God will help them. It is not a story that preaches at you, it is one that lets you know their believe is strong. Just a girl and a boy who fall in love. Unfortunately, they are both only in the small town for the summer. For him, it starts as a punishment. For her, it is the only home she has ever known and she only returns there once a year. She suffers abuse from her only parent and her only affection comes when she is there. When she disappears, he is devastated. Will she ever return? Can they forget each other? This was a gut-wrenching read. It might have triggers for some people.

I love small town stories and this was definitely an unique one.

I was easily able to imagine the settings laid out and picture each scene as it occurred with it’s characters.

Heartbreaking. And beautiful. A wonderful sweet and clean, Christian romance. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Some abuse scenes.

Small town romances are some of the best romance stories out there and this one is definitely in that group. There's heartbreak, sweet clean romance, characters you can relate too, emotions - you may need tissues- and maybe a HEA ending. You'll have to grab your own copy and find out. This is one that won't let you go until you reach the end and even then it stays with you. So well written!
