For Today’s Christian

If you are weary of the weekly sermons in your church that make you look for something more inspiring on utube, you need to read this. The same is true if Sunday School or Bible studies leave you cold. Take Bible study into your own hands so that by the end of your life you know the Bible. Teach your own family. Don’t let them grow up to be coloring book Christians who have been overdosed on sugar. Go to church, but don’t expect to get an education. Then you will know if what is being preached is the truth and move accordingly if need be to find a church where what you hear IS TRUTH.

A Plan That Is Doable

If you're like me, finding a church that preaches solely The Word is quite a task. This book gives a way forward while continuing on with that search. I came away from this book with a new resolve in mind....reading the books of the Bible according to this plan. Pick up this book first. Read it for yourself, then pick up your Bible and read the Word. By the way, may our search for an Expository pulpit be successful. 😁 😇

Great advice and encouragement to read the Bible in a deliberate way that makes sense—even if we rarely do read it in this "synthetic" manner. While the book is a short 84 pages, it could be summed up in a single sentence...but I recommend reading the entire book for the encouragement...and I won't offer the spoiler.

I was given this original 1904 edition as a Christmas gift by my wife; it would be worth hunting around to find—it's a beautiful little addition to any believer's library.
