o start with, this is my story. For many years I tried to delay and escape from the inevitable. For months thereafter, I was persistently persuaded by my near and dear ones. Finally, in late 2017, (yes I planned the year and almost the month as well), I finally took the plunge and entered the phase of ‘Motherhood’, albeit, with a lot of anxiety and fears. This is the journey of someone who literally suffered from Tokophobia-(fear of childbirth) since she was young but ultimately & contrary to popular perception, it became the biggest and most wonderful challenge of her life.

If you're making preparations for motherhood, then this is the book you need to read. It's informative and engaging read for all expectant parents. This book Baby On Board by Author Sonia Sahijwani Saini is a fab break from the usual pregnancy reads. It is full of nuggets of wisdom that will guide you through your pregnancy journey. Author suffered from Tokophobia ( fear of childbirth) and she shares how she overcame this fear. She discusses all her unique in the book and she has written this book for the benefit of all moms-to-be. I think this will definitely help the first time moms most.

WHAT I LOVED READING THE MOST IN THIS BOOK:
1.I am especially grateful for the section that explains why we need to be fit before giving birth. I absolutely loved reading where author and her husband joins gym 6 months before planning her pregnancy. It was truly fun reading about all their preparations.

2. I think this book definitely has a point of view. Some people think that natural birth is best, while Author thinks that all moms deserve a medal no matter how they deliver their baby. I completely agree with her.
3. I completely agree with her that our partner should be given some responsibilities and we must trust him in performing these responsibilities related to baby. We must never underestimate his support.
4.Other than our life partner, our gynaecologist plays the most important role in our pregnancy journey. He advices, her support is what makes you feel assured that you and your baby are safe.

In the end, the book’s goal is to leave you feeling prepared and less nervous, for whatever could happen.

RATING: I would like to give it 5/5 and would highly recommend it. Its honest, helpful and realistic so I think this is one of the very best pregnancy books for parents-to-be.

Baby on Board is written as the author's own diary/journey to her pregnancy combined with various tips for the mothers who are carrying and the ones who want to. Her journey is a very calculated and structured journey but at the same time it's not devoid of any surprises. The author has divided the books into sections according to the timelines. She provides information on how she had planned it, how to stay ready for the D-Day (Delivery Day), how to stay calm throughout and experience the entire journey as a whole. It's not a guide rather her own experiences and soulful advice to women.
The book has been well structured which makes it easy to read. The language used is very simple. The title of the book is completely appropriate to the book. The book may be comforting to the ones who are going are carrying since the author has written it on her personal experiences which are common to all. The best part about the book is the involvement of the to be father. He need to be involved because it their journey and not only her's. This book is for parents to be and not only the mother to be. The author has done a commendable job at conquering her fears to deliver and planning her pregnancy so well. This may help others. I also loved the myths that's she tell us about and the week system of pregnancy.
The way of writing in the initial chapters where in the questions are asked to the readers about certain things may tend to scare off the reader. They may tend to give a humongous whiff of self doubt and fear. That way of writing can be improved upon. This topic may not be for all to read.

It's a before math of delivery. Precautions, supervision and all the calculative steps to be taken during pregnancy are well guided in this book which serves as a handy through to all the couples opting for a child to bring on this planet earth. There are a few things illustrated in this book that was worth spreading and much-needed attention among the mothers to be.
The following of week by week theory rather than a trimester method, involving a partner in the journey of bringing up a new life to the world, clear depiction of the present-day women fear, phobia's Tokophobia, the notion about pregnancy is what plainly exemplified in this in a convenient and motivational manner for the younger women those who are opting to be a mother and to get rid of their fears.
The social stigma of miscarriage and the way society treats women during pregnancy to do this and that, all those how it builds up pressure on her, becomes nagging and is certainly head storming and mind-boggling. All this ordeal a woman bares to bring life to the world is more appealing and invaluable. Even then, no mother treats this labor pain as an ordeal, but as a precious stone mile in her motherhood, that's her greatness.

Well! The book is good and really motivated, guides, and provides some prerequisite knowledge in planning, precautions, after and before math of pregnancy (maybe not completely but to some extent). It is highly recommended for all pregnant women or the one who cares about them especially.

Covered in eleven chapters, is nine months of pregnancy, what to expect before it starts and 'life after birth- you are still NORMAL'. .
.

An immensely personal, yet serving all narrative of the incredibly beautiful journey of motherhood. Brushing through the process, the misconceptions, preconceived notions, and reality. The author has commendably, with simplicity being the foremost helping hand to the narrative elements, brought forward the essence of love, elapsed time, and the 'story behind the story'.
.
. "This is the journey of someone who literally suffered from Tokophobia-(fear of childbirth) since she was young but ultimately & contrary to popular perception, it became the biggest and most wonderful challenge of her life".

TITLE : BABY ON BOARD

The book is about the pregnancy journey right from the initial stage, symptoms, how to take self-care, what all myths can be avoided during each stage and most importantly it has highlighted that a father's contribution is as important as mothers in every aspect.

The book "Baby on Board" is said to be semi-autobiographical as the author described her own experience during the phase of her childbirth. Author Sonia has described about Tokophobia-fear of childbirth. Author has described about her own fear of childbirth. She has described about Tokophobia of all women during their pregnancy with reference to her own pregnancy.

Author Sonia has beautifully penned about pre and post pregnancy period of every women's pregnancy period. She has penned down every details which occurs to women during pregnancy.

This is the book for every mother, not only for mothers but also for unmarried woman who has to go through to know more about pregnancy which they are going to attain in their life. And also apart from female gender, everyone can read this book to know about the difficulties each woman face during their pregnancies.

I liked the way the author has penned the importance of husband's role when a woman carries their child, eating habits, pregnancy planning etc.

Apart from these things, the author has used simple language so that we can understand it easily. The cover page is simply amazing. The title is also good. The printing of the book is also good as each chapter describes through its unique picture along with the title.

A most needed book to read.

Happy reading 😍😀😍

Baby On Board is a non fiction Story. It is about an extraordinary pregnancy journey of the author herself. Sonia has shared her fears, doubts and the positive attitude in this book. Mother to be always depends on her mother or mother-in-law during pregnancy or post delivery but author has trusted her husband and involved her in her entire pregnancy journey. Through this book, author has highlighted how important it is for a men to be involved and take interest as a father to be.

The book covers the pregnancy journey of the author. It covers what the couple has done before planning to conceive till the delivery of a healthy baby. The book has very well highlighted that it is important to have a healthy mind and body for a couple to bring a baby in this world. A couple should be well updated by reading and gaining knowledge about pregnancy. I agree with the author when she said that C-section is also normal. We should focus on the thing that mother and baby is healthy instead of focusing on whether a baby is born through normal delivery or C-section.

This is a must read book. Well informative. Looking forward for more books from the author.

It's about the authors journey to motherhood. The author candidly shares her pregnancy journey with the readers.

From the opinions of others to Getting ready for the change, from planning a baby to the fear of delivery, the author narrated all her feelings in a crisp and engaging way. I liked how the author made plans for herself, the way she didn't let others thinking affect her. My most favourite chapter from the books is to trust your partner and not underestimating him.

With an interesting and witty writing style, the author keeps the readers engaged throughout. One can relate to the book well. Simple language, the natural flow of writing and a smooth pace make this book more fascinating. It feels like one is talking to a friend.

It's an informative read with some amazing tips from the author. From planning to preparing for the day, there are so many fears, mood swings and thoughts that come across, the author said it all.
Overall, it's a quick and delightful read that will give you a glimpse about this beautiful journey.

Who should read this book? All those who are planning or expecting must read this book. Also if you want to relive your journey, go for it.

"It's how we perceive the pain & how we learn to cope up with the pain is what makes all the difference."
This book is about motherhood, the fear that lingers in every would-be mother & the strength & endurance to overcome the fear with grace. Step by step, & through personal experience, the author has tried to lend the mothers out there a helping, comforting hand .This book is based on the positive outlook of being a mother, trusting yourself enough to make the right decisions, & being careful wherever necessary. Not only that, but about fathers, the husbands, to take extra step, to be their for their wives, irrespective of their gender & what they're told all their lives. To empower them for a long fruitful journey of fatherhood. Very smoothly written, & very optimistically. And, on a rather friendly note. Discarding unnecessary myths, & enjoying every bit of thei beautiful journey through preparations beforehand & constant practice, this book will gudie you. And, I hope it comes handy for the would-be mothers out there.

Baby On Board by the author Sonia Sahijwani is a non-fiction book based on the extraordinary pregnancy journey of an ordinary couple. Sonia has penned down her pregnancy journey very well in this book. The book has 11 chapters.

The cover and the title of the book fascinated me to read this book. This book gives helpful information about pregnancy. With right information, we can eliminate our fears. Like author, most of the woman suffers from Tokophobia i.e. a fear of childbirth. I really liked when author mentioned that the couple should detoxify their body and should have a healthy body and mind before conceiving. The language of the book is lucid. There are many grammatical errors in the book.

This is a perfect book for those who are expecting or is a mother. The Book is written keeping in mind both genders, so both men and women can read this book. It is an informative read. So go ahead with it.

Being a mother is the best felling in the world for a woman. This book is the journey of the author from having a fear of childbirth to the mother of a baby boy.

Book contains 11 chapters that will show the feeling of being the mother along with what the person has faced in the life and what will be the life after it. I am sure the life of a woman will change after reading this book. The book not only motivates you but also shows you what you should do, what care should be taken, what things should be done at the right time along with care and involvement of the partner. Book ends showing the life that has become now is normal just the difference of thinking normal can change your whole world.
Language used in the book is easy to understand, but the way it's written, makes readers to get involve with the story .A good read . Recommended.

I loved the premise and the cover. Going into the book I really did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Tokophobia is a condition when a woman is scared of childbirth and this book deals with that. This will be such an amazing book for gifting to would be mothers. Starting from the preface it is so well executed. All the emotions are so well surfaced. Every step is so calculatively written. I recommend this to the fathers and brothers and every other person too. I love such autobiographical portrayals. Every turn I didn't know what to expect because I am far from being a mother. The narration is simple and very straightforward including the language which is very lucid. The flow is very smooth. I can't recommend this enough mostly because of it's uniqueness.

Book_Review #60

A fun and educational read which is a life saver for pregnant women and for those who are planning. Women are often surrounded by social pressure, biological clock and anxiety when they reach a certain age. We are terrified with the entire pregnancy ordeal and top of that we have one or two scary stories from family and friends which makes us question ourselves. Author, through this book has channelled the inner thoughts and fear of modern women and has tried ger best to support us throughout this magical journey. I simply loved how author has made the pregnancy less scary (it will always be little scary) but reading this book has given me much needed prospect.

As this is Author's own journey, I felt connected and comfortable in reading the entire experience. Language used is free flowing and helps you understand and feel better. Content is totally fresh and very much needed. Everyone tells you how beautiful and necessary the pregnancy is but no one talks about the challenges and drawbacks which a woman encounters every day. I loved the title and the cover of the book, they are totally related.

I am 29 years old and I found the book very very useful. Road up ahead seems pretty confusing but reading it in Author's words has somehow comforted me. I recommend this book all preggers and all preggers to be.

It's an informative and engaging read for all expectant parents. Yes, parents and not expecting mothers.
The author gives anecdotes from her own life and childbirth. She shares her experience so that other people benefit from it and take it as a learning.
The author stresses the importance of planning and how fitness plays an important role in pregnancy. The role of gynecologist is stressed upon too. Of course, how alcohol should be removed as part of detoxification before planning a baby is something which was much needed. Avoiding alcohol is not the same as detox.
At times the book feels personal but the writing style is simple. The 106 page book can be read in one sitting and to make this easy, it has been divided into 11 chapters.

The colour scheme of the cover and the font style matches the theme of the topic. It gives it a fresh feel.

🍁Giving a birth is not probably easy as it seems. It's just a difficult phase of any women's life and everyone have to deal with it any how. Here is the story of the author and her entire journey from the story behind writing this book till giving birth to a kiddo. The book is divided into small pieces which helps the reader understand it more bettee. It's realistic, helpful as well as scientific. The author talks about all the feelings one has to encounter when she is carrying a baby inside and how does it actually feels to carry a living bug inside our womb. I am completely obsessed with her simple yet classy writing which makes it an easy read.
.
The book is really short, it might just an hour to complete but it will have a lifelong impact. There are a lot of things to learn from it as well. I think everyone should read it, especially someone who is planning a baby. I will definitely recommend it because of it's contents and unique writing.

The book is a one-sitting read of 106 Pages divided into 11 chapters where the author has talked about her pregnancy journey in a very candid manner and has suggested some tips and tricks out of her experience of living the path herself. She has even talked about some of the misunderstandings people have about pregnancy and how it is always seen with something to be a feminine cycle entirely and men are never given a chance to play their role during the entire period of 9 months. Although it is changing with the coming times for the greater good. The information she has given is out of her own familiarities with pregnancy but seems to be very encouraging for someone who is going through this phase and not just that but someone who has 'TOKOPHOBIA' should read it too. Don't know what TOKOPHOBIA is? Grab the book and learn about it more😉.
🍬 The writing style is utterly simple so that anybody could grab the feelings of the author easily.
🍬She has very well written about some of the overlooked elements when it comes to an expecting woman.
🍬 An informational piece of writing that everybody must read if they're planning to have a newborn or think to do so in future. I would re-read it someday maybe 🤔.
🍬 Some of the details and advice the author has shared can really be beneficial.
🍬The biggest knowledge that the author has shared about Gynaecologist is a must-read.

What a beautifully written book on pregnancy. The author penned down her own journey of pregnancy, from describing all the precautions, things to do, things not to do, importance of the involvement of both the partners, the emotional journey carrying a life inside a woman for nine months, all are beautifully expressed.
Starting from the pre pregnancy period, the period before conceiving, the things both partners should do, like detoxifying their bodies to zero alcohol levels.
The importance of both mental and physical wellbeing, and the importance of reading books specifically regarding motherhood at this period, exercising. The fears the come with the time like that during d-day(date of delivery), the labor pain that the lady has to go through, oh my god, thinking of it gives a chilling effect on my veins.
.
Anyway there's a line
'A C-section is also a Normal way of giving birth' and this is a strong perception towards the delivery of a baby, like there's a lot and lots of myths regarding the way of giving birth and ofcourse judging a women's capability even after all the things women has to go through.
