Crouch, Idaho has a secret. A secret hidden behind a paramilitary security force. Their leader calls them a Community. The residents of Crouch call them a cult. Chase Harper doesn't care what they're called. His only concern is they have his sister and his niece, and he wants them back!

Chase, a retired Army Ranger, has to lean on his training, and a heavy dose of instinct, if he has any chance of rescuing his family.

The Holy Light Community proclaims to want nothing more than to be left alone to worship as they please. Their spiritual leader went so far as to hire a paramilitary security force as a buffer between his Community and the world.

The residents of Crouch, Idaho, were suspicious when the Holy Light Community (HLC) purchased 411 acres northeast of town. The rumors grew as the HLC population expanded and a para-military force began patrolling its borders.

When Chase arrives, the little community responds and is willing to put themselves in harm's way. Will Chase allow them to assist in rescuing his sister and niece, even at the threat to their own lives?

Fall of Adam is the first book in The Chase Harper Justice Thriller Series. If you like a story that pulls you through chapter after chapter, then you’ll love Rusty Ellis’ vigilante justice series.

Wow! Rusty Ellis has a way of hooking the reader from the very beginning of the book and keeping them on the line to the end of the book. I started reading this on a Friday afternoon and found myself finishing the book at 1:00 AM on Sunday morning with a few hours of sleep in between, and a couple of meals. I don't think I have been that hooked in quite a while!

Not only is the story engaging and a "good read," I would also declare this book as a "clean read." I recommend "Fall of Adam: A Chase Harper Justice Thriller" to anyone who wants a page-turner thriller that will keep you reading to find out if justice is served.

This is a fast-paced story that drew me in from the get-go. I’d say there may be possible triggers for some readers due to subject matter of closed religious/cultish groups and all that that entails. I found the story to be really well written, having never read this author before I was very pleased with my choice to read this book. Although I received a free review copy, I also chose to purchase the book from Amazon.

Loved It

An insider's look at weird sexual driver's cult. So realistic! These people want to come across as some kind of super religious persecuted innocent group of Christians who are free to leave the group of they choose. In reality the have been brainwashed and are forced to stay in a prison like community.

Great book, a real adventure story. Rusty Ellis knows how to spin a good yarn without being graphic or perverse. Definitely worth a read!

I don’t say this lightly: Fall of Adam had me emotionally wrecked in the best way possible. Rusty Ellis doesn’t just write a rescue story; he writes about sacrifice, family, and the kind of bravery that comes from love, not ego. Chase Harper is a character I won’t forget. You feel his pain, his fear, and his unwavering determination to save his sister and niece from a nightmare disguised as a “community.” The pacing is tight, the tension never lets up, and the emotional moments are beautifully real. It reminded me why I love character-driven thrillers—ones that hit both the heart and the gut. This isn’t just a thriller. It’s a story about what happens when duty meets desperation and it’s brilliant.

This book absolutely got under my skin. Rusty Ellis doesn’t just write about a cult he exposes the psychology behind it. The Holy Light Community feels frighteningly authentic, from their rigid beliefs to their manipulative leader. Chase Harper’s mission to save his family becomes a spiritual and moral test as much as a physical one. I appreciated that Ellis doesn’t rely only on violence or spectacle, he asks big questions about faith, control, and the limits of loyalty. Fall of Adam is the kind of thriller that keeps you awake long after the last page, wondering how close fiction might be to reality.

Rusty Ellis manages to blend a high-stakes military rescue with the quiet heroism of small-town life and it works flawlessly. The townspeople of Crouch, Idaho, feel so real you could imagine bumping into them at a local diner. I adored how the author gave them purpose and courage, not just as bystanders, but as essential parts of Chase’s mission. The suspense never felt forced, it grew naturally, like the tightening of a noose. By the final chapters, my heart was pounding. It’s not just a thriller; it’s a story about community, about people standing up for what’s right, no matter the danger. Book clubs should be reading this one.

If Fall of Adam were a film, I’d already be in line for the premiere. Rusty Ellis crafts scenes so vividly that you can see them playing out on the big screen. The way he builds tension is nothing short of cinematic from the eerie calm of the Idaho woods to the explosive confrontations with the cult’s paramilitary guards. The “Holy Light Community” gave me chills; it’s the kind of believable menace that makes you question how far blind faith can go. Chase Harper is the modern action hero we didn’t know we needed haunted, disciplined, and human. I flew through this book in two sittings. Absolutely gripping from start to finish.

This book was hard to put down. When I did, I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen to each character next.
