Jeff Bezos created one of the world’s most valuable companies and, in the process, became the world’s richest person. Amazon was the fastest company to reach $100 billion in sales ever. And, Bezos started by selling books online. How did he do it?
Fortunately, Bezos has provided the “hidden in plain sight” roadmap he used. If followed, business owners can’t help but become more successful. For the last 21 years, Bezos has personally written letters to shareholders that reveal the underlying principles and strategies he used to grow Amazon. For the first time, Success Secrets of Amazon unlocks the key lessons, mindset, principles, and steps Bezos continues to use to make Amazon the massive success it is today. Applying these principles helps drive higher, faster results.

- Book Review: "Success Secrets of Amazon" by Steve Anderson - 📚 [Repost with new photo]
In a word: indispensable. Especially for Entrepreneurs / Business Owners.
In "Success Secrets of Amazon" veteran business author Steve Anderson combs through the 21 shareholder letters of Jeff Bezos from 1997 to 2018 to come up with 14 Winning Principles which he believes are the secrets behind @amazon 's success.
In my opinion, each of these Principles will be of use to Entrepreneurs / Business Owners no matter what stage of evolution their business is in.
Just as an example - and without giving away too many spoilers - the very first principle is entitled "Encourage Successful Failure."
This is a principle that helps people of every vocation realize that contrary to mainstream belief, failure IS A VERY VIABLE OPTION and a useful learning tool in one's business development. So in other words, knowing the root cause of why something doesn't work is more useful than getting it right the first time. The author goes on to give examples of how NASA uses this principle in all their unmanned test probes, so that the failures in the laboratory can help to minimize the risk of failure during an actual launch.
This one principle alone and the profound implications it carries is what makes this book worthy of reading.
The only negative critique I have is the apparent disconnect between the author and the publisher. The author makes it clear that these are not Jeff Bezos's principles but rather his own which he derived from examining Bezos's letters. Yet the publishers of the book wrote "Jeff Bezos's 14 Winning Principles" as the subtitle of the book, which is rather misleading.
Nevertheless, this still does not take away the value of the book, and it is rightly deserving of full marks.
I recently finished reading "Success Secrets of Amazon" by Steve Anderson, and I'm blown away by the insights and inspiration it offers. 📚💡
This book takes a deep dive into the principles and practices that have made Amazon one of the most successful companies in history. From its customer obsession and innovation mindset to its culture of frugality and long-term thinking, Amazon's secrets are both simple and profound.
One of my favorite takeaways from the book is the concept of "working backwards" from the customer's needs and preferences when developing products and services. This approach ensures that you're not just creating something you think is cool or impressive, but actually solving a real problem or fulfilling a genuine desire.
Another key lesson is the importance of embracing failure as a learning opportunity, and constantly experimenting and iterating to improve your offerings. Amazon has a famous "culture of experimentation" that allows it to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to changing market conditions.
Overall, I highly recommend "Success Secrets of Amazon" to anyone who wants to learn from one of the most successful companies in history and apply its principles to their own endeavors. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a manager, or just someone who wants to be more customer-centric and innovative, this book is full of valuable insights and strategies. 🤓📖💪
📢What if Jeff Bezos simply handed you the formula to Amazon's stratospheric growth so you could do the same? He did, in his shareholder letters. This book decrypted the 14 Growth Principles you can use to have your own 'Amazon-ing' success! Fascinated right ⁉️
📢The book speaks with authenticity & credibility. You might be wondering what these principles are that are. I won't spoil your fun just for the sake of this review though I've shared some insights, that would make you interested for sure.
📢Just as we watch movies on screen but their exists a totally different and unknown story on the back stage know !? So reading this one was the same as that back stage story for me. What makes it one of the best books I've ever read are the infographics and its first person narration.
📢It's written in a very simplistic manner to deliver a classic approach to the readers. Unlike most of the finance & business management that feels a bit boring, it's rather a light read with a minimalistic approach making it less complex. I can say that it's become one of my favourites within a short period of time. All thanks to the classic approach.
While Bezos might remain an enigma unless he writes a biography, Anderson does a good job by going through his letters to Amazon shareowners and putting together the common theme amongst these for us. He has also researched the company's culture and gives us insights. The book looks at Amazon from a risk-reward perspective and evaluates it on this parameter.
