oh my word what an ending for a series...

there are plenty of fight scenes with vampires and vampyres
this book leaves you gasping at what happens next...with a leading character killed off its a no holds barred sort of book expect the unexpected and you wont be disappointed...

this story carries on from the last with ema pregnant with twins and all hell is breaking lose...there is treachery and betrayal before we find out emas fate and her twins...

but this is a long book with plenty of action that wont disappoint and i am sorry to say goodbye to this series as it ends...but in a way that leaves you feeling well what happens next....but thats how any good story should end with your own mind making up those conclusions...

cant wait till this author writes more in other series that i am sure are on their way

And so it ends!!! or does it, that is the question because even though it's the end of the series I'm left with so many questions!!!! But let's move on…

This, of course, is the finale of the Ema Marx series from JD Brown, narrated by MJ Webb and to say it is a triumph would be an understatement. If you've listened to the previous four books then you'll know what an amazing writer JD is and how MJ could sooth a bear with her voice, so there are no surprises that this audiobook is amongst the kings and queens of audio productions available.

As stated previously I love the works of JD Brown; I'm a romance girl at heart but have found the Ema Marx series to be a turning point in my own reading, leading me to other worlds of paranormal stuff that I never knew existed. However, having it read to me by the animated tones of MJ Webb has been an absolute joy; I'm sure that had MJ not enjoyed narrating this book so much it wouldn't have been so enjoyable for the reader.

This instalment takes the reader through so many emotions again, some you won't expect some you will, and I can guarantee that by the end you'll be left feeling like a rung out dishcloth ready for the washing machine! It's an epic book, with what I can only describe as an awe-inspiring level of planning for the whole series; I can't imagine the story boarding behind this series!

My reviews have been posted for the previous 4 books please feel free to check them out.

I loved this audiobook and feel the urge to read the whole series for myself now, hopefully I'll get the time before the spin-off series drops and answers all the unanswered questions that I have!!!

I'm totally recommending this book to everyone who has read, or listened to the previous 4. You must read/listen to the all, they are not standalones. xx

I received a free copy of this audiobook and provide my honest review voluntarily

I’ve been waiting this whole series to see the chapters from Jesu’s POV, and it finally happened!!! 😍 😍 😍

This book was so good! A lot of loose ends are tied up, but not all of them. I hope that the spin-off series will circle back to some of the characters from this series. I’ve read the first book in the spin-off series (I read these out of order lol), so I know the first book doesn’t answer all of the questions I have, but there are more to come so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Lots of action in this one, politics and backstabbing, fighting, happy moments and tears. Highly recommend.

Wowza. Don’t mess with momma. Ema once again is not one to be messed with. Unfortunately, she is not my favorite character. Jesu on the other hand, fictional boyfriend material!

It’s definitely worth a read or a listen. The audible version is again narrated by MJ Webb. She, as usual, is amazing. Her accents and voices are so perfect.

Now, I was disappointed that it wasn’t tired up nicer being a now completed series. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 4 stars.

Welcome back , Ema is back and ready to fight for her life and the lives of her unborn chirldren. Time is running out for everyone including Ema . There is a war on the horizon and everyone needs to prepare . That means Ema has to go to elite fighting school after the twins are born . Will she be able to juggle everything and make sure the prophesy doesn't come true for the man she loves and the children in her womb. Who will rise and who will fall in this conculsion of this series .
All the characters are back Ema, Jesu and the rest of your favourite vampyres . They are well written and man they are so complex . Ema is so strong in this book . She is finally realizing that there is more to life just the fighting . She wants more for her and her children. She struggles with having to leave and having her life under the microscope all the time . She has grown up in this final book . Jesu well he is ummm what can I say about Jesu . He is brooding and sexy but he know what he must do . They finally realize that they are meant for each other and what that would be like . The characters will grab you and suck you into the chapters . There are so many characters that will have you intrigued .
I was so very happy when i found out the last book was coming out . I have been patiently waiting for this book for a long time . I will say it was well worth the wait . The author takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride through out . There is so much going on from intrigue to romance and oh yeah the prophecy. You will be reading well into the night . I will say that i felt the book had a little drag at the begining but once you get through chapter 3 it really picks up . Oh and don't say i didn't warn you but there will be some tears shed because the author does something to one of the main characters that will make you cry . Over all i was excited about this book and I loved every second of it . I am kind of sad that it is all over and yes people did get their happily every after but not the way you think . So if you want a great series that will have you falling in love check out the EMA MARX series .

Ooooh where to start. The positive penny dropped that I actually understand how all the titles tie in to the story. I do love it when it all makes sense!

Ok so... It was a hell of a ride and story. Ms Brown definitely does throw in a few twists that I didn't expect and had my jaw hanging on the floor. Man... this is hard to write without any spoilers!!!

Let's start with the simple things I loved:
- I loved how some of the story lines came to a conclusion or came together in this book.
- I loved some of the character development and evolvement (is there such a word?) especially Jalmari. As much as I despised him in the previous books, he actually became my favourite character in this book - can you believe it??? I still love Jesu, but somehow Jalmari stole the show for me.

What wasn't that great for me:

- I was so sad with who died in this book. Really... it made my heart ache!
- I understand that this is end of Ema's story (sort of) but I kinda wanted it to go on a bit more. I wanted to see the epic battle that has been the theme and motivation of most of the story when it came to the twins. I bet the spin off is about this.. so maybe this is not such a bit negative but still. I wanted it now ha ha ha.
- I wasn't a fan of Jesu's behaviours near the end.

Ema really does step up tot he plate, but I think in some regards she leaves a little too much on Jesu's call.. even though I can see it was to get him on board and for them to approach it as a team and not as conflicted partners.

All in all JD wraps things up nicely with a pretty little bow, and enough room for more and a spin off later on.

So much has happened to Ema in such a short period of time. She’s had her life turned upside down, found that the supernatural is real, fought battles against true evil, found true love and even had twins.
To me this didn’t feel so much like an ending. There is a feeling of open possibilities when you come to the final chapter. Perhaps there will be a spin off series or maybe our author friend is letting us decide how we’d truly like Ema’s story to end.
I enjoyed this book greatly. There was without being spoilery a ton of action, a great tragedy, a hea and a great deal of craziness with the rebels. There is most assuredly something for everyone to enjoy here whether you like action, fantasy, romance or a combination.
As an ending to a story I have loved from book one there is a bit of bittersweetness to finishing this book. But it does not take away from the wonderful story. Definitely a winner!
I received an ARC from the author. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

First off let me just say, I love this series and this author. She has such and amazing ability to write the story and make you feel like you are there. You definitely have to read the other 4 books of the series to know what's happening, but it is worth it. Dark Heiress will make you laugh, cry, and smile all at once. It's one of the best series I have read this year. Looking forward to more of her writing and what's next on the list. This book and series is a must read.

This book may have been longer coming than I would have liked, but I have to say it was more than worth the wait! I think it's probably my favourite so far, and I have loved every single book of this series. Ema and Jesu are fantastic characters, and just when you think things are going to work out for them, something happens.... So much suspense and drama, the twists and turns had me on tenterhooks the whole way through. I can't wait for more!

Great read, great story

Amazing. I cried, I giggled. It was an adventure. So many things at stake in this book. It left me wanting more. So many questions, so many theories...

Ema and Jesu make such an epic powerhouse couple when they work together. I love the sweet shyness of Sara (she needs to find her happy ever after). Maria,.... Poor Maria, and Naamah.... My heart aches...

Ema truly has her work cut out for her this time. The Rebels gain entry to the castle and nearly destroy it. The twins she is carrying are a girl and a boy. One will be born human, the other Nephilim. The legends say one will fight Apollyon, who will it be? This is book 5 in the series, and every one in the series is fantastic!

This was a good ending to a great series. We got to see what happens during Ema's pregnancy. I was sad when she finally had to go to training but I am excited for the possible stories that can result from the twins. I know they are not in the works but I would like to see how things go with the twins.

It felt like long wait for this final book in the Ema Marx series, but it was well worth the wait.
This book was so bittersweet with its endings, but was also so exciting with its unexpected new beginnings. There are surprising plot twists and turns that will keep you guessing right up to the end.
Nicely done, pun intended.

Once again Ema's story takes some twists and turns.

The R.E.D. is closing in, the hunters are circling, the rebels are back, what is Ema to do? Kick ass of course. Ema is hellbent on protecting her twins, winning Jesu back and keep Apollyan where he belongs, in Hell.

As always a fast paced entertaining read and leaves me wanting even more.

Wow. Things got VERY complicated. Ms. Brown tells a masterful story. The twists and turns kept me on my toes and I could not see where this was going! Jalmari is quite devious and really kept this story unpredictable. I loved it!

So the end, or do we not want it to finish. What about continuing with others. It cannot end here surely there has to be more. Twist and turns all the way. Completely engrossed couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended.
