This is such a great book! If you want to be taken back to thinking about first loves, you will be transported to it with this book. I can’t wait for the next books in this series to come out!

It took me less than a week to finish the book. It occupied me during my trip to and from work, I rarely took my eyes off the enjoyable story. The story is told mainly from Kay's perspective. It went back in time to show how Kay and Jason fell in love in the third grade, how they grew up together, playing games and being best friends to one another. It also goes on to show the drama which ensues while they were teenagers, which led to their split.
In the present time, they are reconnecting. They long history between them resurfaces as they meet for coffee for the first time in five years. The book is an easy read and an enjoyable love story, even for someone like me who doesn't read romance. They one feedback though is that for a romance novel, there should be at least a sex scene. All in all, it is a solid entry and a good introduction to the trilogy.

An unusual love story
Keeping Promises is a beautifully written book. The author pulls you quickly into the heart of the protagonist and her love for Jason. This book shows you how the "one" is not always the fairy tale Prince you thought at every given time but there is a happily ever after. This is a book you will read over and over because of the comfort of the story and lyrical beauty of the writing.
I love this book because it is a heartwarming break from the normal romance story. It is great new adult romantic fiction.

Keeping Promises is a love story between two people starting from the time that they are kids. We get to see their friendship grow into a relationship and all the challenges that come with it. I love romance novels. This one proved to be a keeper. The author took me back to my first love in ways I had forgotten. The book was entertaining and easy to read. I finished in 2 days and can't wait for the next book. This author is definitely one I will follow.
