Sanshlian #2

The Journey

Rate this book
Now it is time to figure out who I really am. A year has passed since we were all on Sanshli. My idiot brother decided to pull out the sword and now we were stuck in the past, all in new bodies. Like my life wasn’t complicated enough. But now it was going to get even more complicated. Time was running out and I had to finish my destroy Nygard once and for all. I knew I would be on my own for this one, as I was the only one who I could trust. And there was always Jack, but I still didn’t know where he was. Hopefully it would all make sense soon. But what were the odds of that?

After Rik, Arcadia’s brother decides to pull out the sword they travel back in time to other bodies. Everyone from the future has traveled back and enters or became their ancestors. Each character had two names. I will have to agree that it is a little confusing at times trying to keep all the characters straight but once you figure out who is who then the story amps up as you follow Arcadia on her mission.

Arcadia once again found herself on the side of the Emperor. She had no idea where her brother or Jack was. She had to pretend to be loyal to the Emperor instead of against him if she wanted to escape his hold and complete her mission.

The Emperor sends Arcadia on a mission to kill the one person she can never kill. Arcadia lets the Emperor believe that she will do whatever he asks her to do as she belongs to him. Arcadia knows that she has to make the Emperor believe her if she is to ever escape his grasp and put things right again. Arcadia knows that she is alone as she can trust no one.

The Journey has the right amount of action to keep you glued to the story and the pages turning. The Journey is filled with all the betrayals, lies and twists to keep you racing to the end to see how it all turns out. I really enjoyed reading Arcadia’s escape scene and how it all played out. The world building for The Journey is just out of this world awesome.

If you like sci-fi stories with action and suspense then I believe you would enjoy reading The Journey. One click your copy of The Journey today!

This book was a good followup to the first. Not as action packed until the end, but there was a lot going on. It was very confusing, everyone had two names. Their actual name and the person they were when they went back in time... Somewhat confusing, but also with the plot/ story line, necessary.
Brilliant story, I can't imagine writing a novel that spans decades, lots of thought and detail went into writing this book. I can't wait to read the next installment. There are some questions I am looking forward to finding the answers about.

What I Did Like:
+The characters are still amazing, even in their new timeline and roles (time travel complicates things).
+The deceptions, reveals, and secrets all make for a compelling story.
+This one is definitely building to an explosive third book. A lot of pieces snap into place here, prepping the reader for something great in the finale.

Who Should Read This One:
-Scifi fans who like strong characters and plots with lots of twists and paths may like this series (start with The Quest).
