The seventh edition of the series, which was begun in 1979. This edition contains over 15,000 bands/artists, over 115,000 albums (CDs & vinyl), and over 250,000 references to individual musicians who contributed to albums. Pages are not numbered.
I don't understand the bad reviews here. The book is not something you would read, it is simply a list of LPs released over the years. I have found it an invaluable source of information over the years and I would thoroughly recommend it.
A highly recommended book for browsing and for reference. Massive amount of information, Terry's "New Rock Record" series takes you back to pre-Internet times, when a book like this was really the one and only way that you could ferret out information about past record releases, with thorough listings of releases for bands and solo artists from around the world plus an index at the back linking musicians to each artist they had recorded with. The content is essentially raw data - bands, LP releases, catalogue numbers and musican credits. There's no reviews or illustrations, so anyone expecting them would surely be disappointed. I now own every issue of NRR since the original "New Rock Record" (black cover). Looking at Rock record 7, the final instalment, it's a staggering amount of info for one man to compile really, Terry really deserves some sort of award for this enterprise.
