Working covert ops as ordered. Living a black and white existence.
Until everything shattered into grey and nothing made sense anymore.
An anomaly on the species scale, Kellan's world was one of cold precision and stoic duty. A world he believed to be his own but when the beautiful Detective Charlotte Alistair stormed into his life, it shook the foundations of all that he was and believed himself to be. Initially wary of her, Kellan soon found himself ensnared in a way he didn't think was possible. She enthralled him, captivated his every sense, human and animal alike. She revealed pieces of himself he didn't know existed and a life he had forgotten.
But how? What happened to him?
At first, amnesia seemed to be the only explanation but as he began to unravel the truth it soon became clear that nothing was as it seemed.
The more he learned, the less he knew.
And with nothing but his gut instinct to guide him, he needed to keep his focus sharp and clear even as his feelings for the beguiling cop began to dominate his every moment. With Charlotte and his alleged best friend, Finn McGregor now crowding his once solitary existence, the danger threatening him came not only from unseen enemies but from within. Because the more he opened his heart, the more he risked.
Would the connection he felt with Charlotte be the strength he needed to survive the upheaval or would it be his weakness?
The love of a good story is the reason Zelly Jordan says she had her nose in a book most of the time growing up. Escaping into a world of great love, great adventures and sexy-smexy fun times with drool-worthy heroes and feisty strong women was the highlight of every day.
A lover of good coffee, cats and a good chat, with the occasional glass of wine, she lives in the most livable city in the world, Melbourne Australia with her mostly grown son. Divorced and happily single, Zelly realised the danger she was facing in becoming the crazy cat lady and it was this fear, together with her love of a particular television show that lead her to give writing "a go". She let the world in on her attempts as she went along and put it out there on the www for the world to see, if they chose.
Surprisingly, they did and this is the result - her debut novel. A perfect example of what can happen if you just try.
When she's not writing or researching, she likes to spend time having a laugh with friends, watching good movies or shows and delving into the lovely world of Angels, crystals and healing. All with the added magic of music and a good espresso.
The story picks up not long after the events of Fractured with very little recap. It had been almost a year since I read book one and I had to re-read the final chapter to familiarize myself with key elements but found I quickly slipped back in.
Sergeant Kellan O’Ryan is slowly regaining his memories and remembering his girl and best friend. He is also starting to question the Commander. We had some intense moments with explosions, fires and unravellings but with each trauma Kellan remembered more and things aren’t adding up.
I loved the secrets, missions and questions. I want to know exactly what happened to Kellan. How did the beast become a part of him, what happened when he disappeared and why were his memories taken?. Eep!
The story isn’t perfect, some things I felt repeated, and lack of answers regarding O’Ryan’s past and the Commander frustrated me but I liked Kellan and Charlotte and am rooted for both.
I loved Finn and other secondary characters. I hope we see romances develop for them as the series progresses. We see development between Kellan and Detective Charlotte Alistair. He remembers more moments with her and his beast knows she is theirs. LOL
Kellan and Charlotte’s relationship is still complicated in Unveiled, book two of the Unbreakable Series, but their connection is visceral, it jumps out of the page and forces you to keep reading.
I spent most of the book switching between wanted to scream at them to talk to each other, ask the right questions, give me, the reader some answers to reading so fast I thought I was going to burn out my retinas! The book was lucky it survived to the end I was gripping it so tight as I read that the book distorted and the pages and the scenes within glowed they were so hot! The paperback came in handy then as a fan!
On the surface Charlotte and Kellan don’t really progress far in their relationship. Kellan still doesn’t know who he is apart from his limited soldier / assassin persona complicated by his beast within and he doesn’t remember his girlfriend Charlotte or his life with her. But his connection with her is still there and by the end of the book that connection and Charlotte are the apex of his whole world.
A few events in Unveiled start Kellan questioning his recent past and the vacant abyss that is his life before that. Being with Charlotte starts to feel more and more right, his body and his beast crave and constantly seek her everywhere and his mind is now thinking for him instead of automatically questioningly obeying the Commander and undertaking his missions without a thought. Is he who the Commander infers he is or is he the Kellan who has a different life with Charlotte?
Zelly Jordan excels at writing Kellan’s story from his point of view, the soldier, assassin, beast and man of him blended together, elemental at times without words but still with meaning. At times this is frustrating as a reader because we want the words to fully understand what is going on, but this is the brilliance of Jordan’s writing as we share the same frustration as Kellan himself! Who is he? How do the pieces of his life fit together? Who is this woman? Why does she trust me with her life?
Read Unveiled to try and work it out! As for me I’m ready for book 3!
This is the second book in the Unbreakable series, and Kellen's making progress. He finally realizes and accepts there is something wrong with his memories. He is more than an emotionless soldier. The author teases you with fragments...don't jump ahead, enjoy the pain of discovery.
There are hot sexy moments between Kellen and the girlfriend he doesn't remember. Kellen's internal beast wants to ravage. Will they...won't they? That's the question. No spoilers. Don't expect a happy ever after ending, this is only book two of an ongoing series.
A fun read. This is an author you will want to follow.
I have just finished Unveiled and I have really enjoyed it. Kellan is an interesting character, I'm already speculating who the commander is (I won't voice my suspicions though) It is very well written, a couple of typos but we are all guilty of those. (I'll feed them back directly to Zelly)
I'd have liked to have seen more interaction with Finn, as it mainly seems to be about Kellan and Charlotte (I understand they're the main characters, but Finn is supposed to be his best friend)
I'm not normally keen on cliffhangers, even as gripping as they can be. I like to have everything tied off at the end of a book so I can essentially move onto another. But this one I will be happy to read again regardless of the cliff hanger and I look forward to the last instalment.
Kellan starts to remember his old self bit by bit. His Commander is giving him reason to doubt his mission. Some of the secrets Kellan has, are unfolded in this book, but not all.
Seriously! This book, like it's prequel, has everything! Action, intrigue, suspense, oh, and off the charts intense sex scenes! With all that said, Ms. Jordan has a clever knack for leaving you on the edge of your seat, reaching for the next installment to the story! Which I now have to wait for! I hope she doesn't make us wait long! Well done, Ms. Jordan! Well done!
Really could not put the book down, husband had to cook tonight because I just couldn’t stop reading! The connection between the characters is so engaging and you just can’t help but wanting to know what is going to happen next!!
"UNVEILED" by Zelly Jordan is a gripping adult paranormal suspense tale, dripping with romance and raw sexuality. As the second book in Jordan’s ‘UNBREAKABLE’ series, it continues to delight readers with a searing, grab-the-reader-by-the-throat flair that makes it impossible to put down. Prepare for lost hours at bedtime.
At the heart of the tale is the amnesiac Sgt. Kellan O'Ryan, a soldier-assassin struggling to recover lost memories, complicated by the beast persona within him that can break out at any moment. Kellan cannot remember details of his past, especially regarding the delectable Charlotte Alistair, a detective. Yet, that small detail doesn’t dampen their explosive, passionate relationship. When those two get together, their chemistry boils over, radiating heat off the pages.
Kudos to the author for masterfully writing from Kellan’s point of view, in the main convincingly selling the notion one is reading a very macho male man’s innermost thoughts. This is especially well done in the hot romantic scenes, where she excels at channeling the male psyche.
This novel is a complex, skillful mixture of suspense, action, drama, and romance, all held together by an overarching, offbeat paranormal theme. Guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat!
Here I was thinking I'd get all the answers from Fractured, but nope! Have to read the next one! Oh well! I like Kellen and Charlotte and am looking forward to more of their story.
If you're on the read our don't read fence, READ, but be sure to start with Fractured as these are not standalone.
This deserves simply 5 stars. Amazing work from one amazing person and writer. :) Looking forward for more of this series and which adventure comes next. If I it gets translated in german I will definitly get is as well. Definitly a MUST read.
Unveiled in the second exciting instalment in the Unbreakable series by Zelly Jordan. It certainly kept up the momentum created in book one- and is every bit as thrilling as the first book. We pick up right where book one left off- so if you haven’t read Fractured (Book 1) yet, I really recommend that you do before diving into this book so you can full appreciate the amazing story which is the “Unbreakable” series. This story unveils a little more about Kellan, his past, and memories. We met the rough, tough, dangerous fighting machine in the previous book and through Ms. Jordan’s clever character development- we get to see a little vulnerability and character growth in this book. There is still so much mystery, so many questions- again I was on the edge of my seat avidly reading along to get some answers. Things are definitely not what they seem. Ms. Jordan has me hook, line. And sinker. I am so invested in this now- I am on tenterhooks awaiting the next instalment!!! Brilliant!! Bring on Book #3!!!
I truly loved this second installment in Zelly Jordan's Unbreakable series & can't wait for more! Zelly knows how to build the sexual tension & also how to fulfill it, leaving you totally breathless! Unveiled gives us great progression in the storyline along with wonderful breakthroughs with Kellan's connections to Charlotte & Finn coming through. Zelly is amazing at drawing you into the thoughts & feelings of her characters, so you feel as though you are living in their world & feeling their every emotion. I love that Zelly writes from Kellan's point of view, as I love feeling his raw emotion & his deep gutteral desire & need to be with & to please his mate. Zelly also expresses Kellan's desperate confusion & frustration with his disjointed memories & his conflict over his missions & his commander very eloquently & makes the reader clearly understand the discord & pain that he is going through. Unveiled has a perfect balance of romance, action & drama & I can't wait for the next installment in the Unbreakable series - hopefully very very soon!
I devoured Unveiled. Seriously, I could not put this book down. And, I had all kinds of great things to say about it until I realized that almost all of those things would give spoilers! So, I'm going to try to keep this as spoiler free as I can while still conveying just how good it is. I was quite impressed with book one in this series, and I was actually a little worried about this one, given that Zelly Jordan had set the bar quite high with her debut. My worries turned out to be unfounded because she's gone and done it again. The story is captivating, the characters are unique, and the romance is hot. Most of the world building was done in book one, but it does continue here, and I love that it's done organically within the story rather than large sections of information all at once. The characters are all well-developed, but the star of this show is Kellan. Ah, Kellan. Our leading man is a big ol' bag of alpha male and everything that comes with that. Plus he's broken and searching for answers. The emotions run the gamut with this guy - my emotions, that is. I loved him, I hated him, my heart broke for him, I wanted to shake him until his teeth rattled, and I loved him again - sometimes all on the same page. Then there's Charlotte, who actually got to express all those emotions on the page, and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. I'm pretty sure if you look up angry sex in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Charlotte and Kellan, and Jordan does an excellent job of showing all the emotion between this pair. Unveiled does give us some answers and we don't have a jaw-dropping cliffy like book one, but there are still questions and things are far from settled. This second book in The Unbreakable series is full of action, suspense, and romance, not the sunshine and roses romance, but there is a love story here. And it's quite witty, which is a big plus for me. I love that Jordan injects some terrific wit while still maintaining that atmosphere of tension. To sum it up, this is a fantastic addition to an already fantastic story, and I can't wait to see what's next for these characters.
Unveiled carries on right where the first book in the Unbreakable series, Fractured, left off. We catch up with the hero, Kellan, a genetically engineered mutant who can change into a “Beast” – and who works as a special ops assassin. Kellan used to have a job, a best friend, and a super sexy girlfriend, Charlotte, but he lost all memories of them. Someone is using him to carry out assassinations… but he doesn’t know who. In this book Kellan starts to recover his memories, and realizes that someone has messed him up really badly, rendered him amnesiac… and is now trying to kill him. The story, like the first book, is told in the first person, and in the viewpoint of the hero. It’s unusual in paranormal romance, but it works beautifully here. Kellan is a great, strong, sexy hero. The author does a fantastic job at showing how he gets his memories back, in vivid flashes and fragments. The story rattles along at a great pace and I can’t wait for the next instalment. Will Kellan remember all of his past? What happened to his family? How did he become a Beast? How was he captured and used? Will he get his revenge? More than anything this is a great love story. The explosive, passionate relationship between Kellan and Charlotte is at the core of the story and practically sizzles off the pages. A must-read for all lovers of paranormal romance!
Oh…. My… God! The story of Kellan O'Ryan continues and it’s damn good! I hated putting it down to do things like, go to work, haha. This book has a bit of everything, it’s mysterious, exciting, and playful. With not one but two sides of sexy and naughty! Zelly’s characters have grown and we can see their connections are solidified and relationships that are stronger than before. I want to know more about Charlotte and definitely Finn! I can’t wait to read more! I’m hooked! You will be too if you start this series! Counting down to the next part, Ms. Jordan! Well done!
This is an adult paranormal suspense romance with violence, adult language, and mild to maximum sexual content. So if any of that offends you, or they are triggers ...read at your own discretion.
This is my book review on the second book in the unbreakable series by Australian author Zelly Jordan. This was an ARC provided by the author for the sole purpose of an unbiased review.
The first book introduced us to the characters Kellan, Charlotte, Fin and the mysterious Commander. These key players still remain in the second book so I am not going to reintroduce you to them. Please read my book review for Fractured and purchase and read the book to get caught up. Now that we have all of the housekeeping out of the way ...
Let's meet the additional characters shall we:
Lucas: Charlotte's brother, plays the brother card hard
J.C.: while briefly mentioned in the first book, she is alluded to and then has some small appearances in this book. She is Charlotte's co-worker at the police station It will remain to be seen if it is enough to develop into more in future books.
Suarez: Charlotte's boss. He is not right yall. She don't like him, I don't like him. You won't like him. That's all I am gonna say about him.
If you remember, I was a little peeved in my review of Fractured as it ended on a cliffhanger and to find that I was dealing with a series. Some people like that kind of surprise...me not so much. Let me know up front so I can get settled in for the long haul.
I also had questions....so many questions! Thankfully, right away, she cleared up some of those questions I had in my first review and bam! Author Zelly Jordan then proceeded to put her pen to the pad (or fingers to the keyboard) and write a f***king good story!
The writing, cohesiveness of events, the emotional rollercoaster she puts Kellan, his beast and Charlotte through, the danger and sexiness is deliciously on steroids in this latest installment of the series.
Author Zelly Jordan brings her 'A' game to the second book in her Unbreakable Series.
Caveat - not read the first book, which, in retrospect may be a wise thing to do before embarking upon this 2nd in series. Things I liked, a lot, about this book were: - near constant, heart-pumping action - characters you feel for from the off with chemistry that zings off the page - intriguing premise and MC - some of the questions I had were answered, leaving room for many more to arise as the story went on. - easy to read but...
Things I didn't like (NB my caveat above): - While I am normally a fan of jumping straight into the action, everything I thought I inferred from the opening chapter, this all got turned on its head in the second when I began to fully understand the impact the loss of memory had on Kellen and his relationships with Charlotte and friends Finn and - I found the lack of world-building in the early chapters a problem. I had no idea about the society structures, magic systems, political systems etc that sets you up for the story. Again, this may be because I haven't read the first book, but noting as a caution to those who would begin the series with Unveiled. I did find my way, eventually, but it left me unsettled and having to re-read back to put things in a revealed context. - Personally, I am not a fan of a massive cliff-hanger, but the ending was 80% satisfying in terms of setting the characters up to move forward in the next installment.
Overall, this is a well written, gripping story. Interesting and endearing characters and a solid plotline - perfect for PNR fans who like a quick and easy read.
Having picked up book 2 without having read the first one, so take the rest of this review with that grain of salt. I was confused. It’s written entirely in first person POV from Kellan’s perspective. Kellan who was some sort of “beast experiment” that infused him with…beast powers and the ability to shift. We start in the middle of a fire as he’s a firefighter, and he was rescuing Charlotte. And then some kind of gas sent his beast into a weird feeling of defeat. And then stuff exploded and I confess I got very confused. Kellan finds Charlotte and little bro Finn, but everyone else thinks he’s dead. And “now” he’s lost track of his life / has a form of amnesia? I couldn’t tell except that he didn’t remember being Kellan - and I couldn’t get back into it - not fully.
There was lots of steam, though, as Kellan and his beast were thoroughly in agreement over being enamored with their she-mate, the feisty detective Charlotte.
So probably pick this one up at book 1 - if you like steam, feisty FMC’s and a conflicted / damaged MMC who’s all about making out with his mate.
Get ready for another wild ride! UNVEILED, the second book in the Unbreakable series, has an excellent recap from the first book to bring the reader up to date in the action. And yes, there is action--much more action! Ms. Jordan skillfully allows us to read how Kellan starts to remember pieces of his background, his memories. With the loving care that Charlotte his girlfriend, and Finn his best friend, offer, Kellan sees how he’s been manipulated by his mysterious Commander. But who is the Commander, and why is Kellen being yanked about like a puppet? There are so many questions as yet unanswered, waiting to be revealed. Good pacing and a tense atmosphere continue to keep the reader hooked. In the meantime, Kellen and Charlotte explore their inner desires, and give us a different take on using ice cubes! UNVEILED leaves us satisfied, but definitely thirsty for more! A recommended read!
From the very first chapter, I was hooked by Kellan O’Ryan’s internal struggle. Watching a man who lives in pure black-and-white suddenly fall into the “grey” was both heartbreaking and addictive. His confusion, the flashes of memory, and the cold precision of his training made every moment feel tense and real. Charlotte Alistair is such a refreshing character strong, sharp, intuitive, and the perfect counterbalance to Kellan’s fractured world. Their chemistry isn’t just romance; it’s magnetic and soul-deep. The unraveling mystery kept me turning pages long past midnight. Every truth Kellan uncovered made the story darker, deeper, and more gripping. If you love character-driven romantic suspense with mind-bending twists, you NEED to read this book. It’s impossible to put down.
Unveiled is a powerful continuation that dives deeper into Kellan O’Ryan’s fractured world. His struggle with identity, memory, and control is gripping, and the tension between his lethal instincts and growing humanity kept me completely absorbed. Charlotte isn’t just a love interest she’s a catalyst, forcing Kellan to confront parts of himself he didn’t even know existed.
The emotional pull is just as strong as the action. Every revelation raises more questions, and the balance between danger, vulnerability, and connection makes this story incredibly compelling. You feel the risk in every choice Kellan makes.
If you love dark, emotionally charged romance mixed with mystery and danger, Unveiled is a must-read. Pick it up and prepare to be pulled deep into Kellan’s world.
This is the second book in Zelly Jordan’s Unbreakable series, and it picks up not long after the ending of FRACTURED. Kellan is as awesome as ever, but he is beginning to uncover some truths that have him questioning everything he’s known until this point. His world is spiraling, his commander is beginning to seem sketchy, and memories are beginning to prove Charlotte belongs to him somehow.
While not all my questions were answered in this book, I feel the characters are left in a good place. This second installment is another page-turner. More smexy romance and even more love for the characters.
Unveiled: Book Two of the Unbreakable Series by Zelly Jordan is a gripping blend of suspense, mystery, and emotional intensity. Sergeant Kellan O'Ryan is a fascinating character cold, precise, and dangerous, yet clearly battling questions about his past and identity.
The arrival of Detective Charlotte Alistair adds a powerful emotional layer to the story, and their connection feels natural, intense, and compelling. As secrets begin to unfold, the tension only grows stronger.
If you enjoy stories filled with intrigue, complex characters, and a touch of romance, this is definitely a book worth picking up.
"Unveiled," the second book in the Unbreakable series by Zelly Jordan, continues the gripping tale of Sergeant Kellan O'Ryan, a soldier and assassin whose life is turned upside down by Detective Charlotte Alistair. As Kellan unravels the mysteries of his past and struggles with amnesia, his growing bond with Charlotte reveals hidden aspects of himself. The narrative is a thrilling mix of covert operations, emotional depth, and complex relationships, offering readers a captivating story where love and duty collide in unexpected ways.
Unveiled: Book Two of the Unbreakable Series by Zelly Jordan is an addictive read that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Kellan O'Ryan’s mysterious past and inner struggle create a powerful storyline that keeps unfolding in surprising ways.
The chemistry between Kellan and Detective Charlotte Alistair adds depth and emotion to an already thrilling plot. Every chapter reveals something new, making it hard to put the book down.
Descriptive and entertaining, this book brings characters to life in a well-thought out, interesting story. The humor is a nice unexpected touch. The love angle is well done, absolutely simmering with passion at times, but it should be noted that this book is for adults if you know what I mean.
“restore a forgotten life without losing my sanity or risking far more than I was prepared to? Not so fucking easy. But I would, no matter how long it took, I vowed silently... No one would be collateral damage in whatever sick and twisted game was being played with my life.”
Reconciling that not everything is as it appears Kellan is a man with a mysterious past and a beast living inside him. Trusting his survival instincts has kept him alive but can his beast get through what is to come? Slowly piecing together the events of the past and regaining stolen glimpses of the life he once had Kellan has a gut feeling that the truth is far more sinister than he first suspected.
Book two in this series is as compelling the first with a little more romance (lost memories) and sex (they have time to make up for!) The bonds of friends grow, interweaving a story filled with suspense with loyalty and brotherhood, grounding him as he faces present danger and formulated a plan to survive whatever game he is unwittingly playing. This story is captivating as the characters continue to grow, the plot becomes even more scintillating and the questions just keep coming! Can’t wait to read what happens next.
A five star who is the Commander read?

Another great work and addition to “The Unbreakable Series” by Zelly. Compelling and intense character interaction. Zelly excels in bringing the story together with her expertise of writing with action, conversation and sensual content. “Unveiled” is a fairly quick read, with the exception of rereading certain scenes, as it is a book that you do not want to put down until completing it! I look forward to the next installment to this series and any other works from Zelly.
